    pinball tournament at Artcade!

What a great spot! Not too far from Orlando and I was there for a photo shoot but drove down to check out Jett's spot and it was so fun! Got to play in an IFPA sanctioned tournament and had a ton of fun meeting local players and it was a great mix of ages and skill levels. Def recommend checking out Artcade!

But upon arrival, I can tell that it was a pretty laid-back please. The desk clerk was very knowledgeable about the games and their history, as well as some nostalgic items that were available. They also have lots of Funko pops if you're into that type of thing. I even like the way they use the ticket gun to price various items in the store. It reminded me of the old school candy store with the little stickers label posted on it. The items look well cared for and wrapped very thoroughly and methodically. I believe lots of the items are fairly priced and not overwhelmingly expensive. I was most impressed with the miniature video game console that sat at the front counter that pre-dated the Atari. What surprise me most about this location is that they had a actual arcade in the back with various games from the 80s like contra, galaxa, pong, Qbert, dig, dug, streetfighter, or Pac-Man, and they even had a racing game. Even though it was not a very, very large arcade, It really did bring back quite a bit of memories.

The day of the event no bounce house was delivered. I have contacted Marios business 2 times via email since 10.23.25 with NO response, today is 11.12.25.

Obviously the system they're so stuck on isn't as great as actual communication... so I contacted Mario again (who was never what I'd call either polite or rude, just kind of bored and indifferent) and they finally sent an invoice with the time window and length of party I had requested. Arrived on time the day of, and set things up as we had discussed. (The reasons for 2 stars). The kids were on the truck playing games and I was sitting in the shade at the picnic table with the other parents and after 2-3 hours Mario approached and said they'll be packing up soon as they have another party after us and could I pay now. I was a little taken aback as I had paid half the total as a deposit for a 4 hour party. So I "asked" him hadn't I scheduled 4 hours? He said no. Now, beginning to get a little perturbed I told him "yes sir, actually I did", and also reminded him I specified the arrival and departure time. He proceeded to argue with me, in front of all the other parents mind you, that I was wrong and they had another party to get to. All I could say was "you need to look at your invoice" after a few minutes he stormed away with the look in his eye of "OK buddy, I'll SHOW you you're wrong". Two minutes later he walked back up to the table and just said "I'll tell the crew we're leaving at 5". No apology or my mistake, you were right. So now I'm wondering just what kind of business is he running here. I entered the truck and saw all the TVs filled, but one of my son's guests playing on her phone... which didn't add up. We had invited the number of guests based on the number of TVs he supplied. So I asked my son to identify his guests and it turned out Mario had brought some kid with him, that had taken up one of the TVs for the whole three hours they had been there (so far). When I politely mentioned to the crew (which was difficult as I was fairly pissed off at that point) that I had guests who weren't able to play and this kid who was not a guest was taking up a TV, they just said "yeah, he knows to get off if someone needs the station"; But did nothing... I had to say to the boy myself: "hey I'm sorry, but I'd like my guests to get to use the game truck that I'm renting" and he did, at that point, (with 25% of the party left) relinquish the TV. I had fed the crew pizza, offered them cake, and (even after all the frustration) sent them off with a tip... Even though I felt I didn't even REALLY get what I had contracted in my opinion. Two stars for showing up on time. Kinda generous, in my opinion, all things considered. I do not recommend. Upon seeing this review, Mario texted my personal cell with the message below. Obviously a class act. You want this guy around your kids? Not me. Reduced review to one star.

I can load in my Regal Crown Cub card and it's automatically credited. I haven't waited in line for a ticket in years. * They support electronic tickets so just flash the bar code on your smartphone and you're in. * It's mall parking so that's easy. * The screen themselves and the sound are just fine. * I can't speak to the concessions as I'd rather have a root canal then pay those prices! * The men's bathroom was clean. I can't speak about the ladies bathroom as all the screaming and yelling that would ensue would be unpleasant. The bad- * They are in desperate, desperate need of a remodel. Most of the Regals have moved to reserved seating and amazing electric reclining seats. The seats here are very uncomfortable and the safety lighting in the theaters is bad. Watching folks trying to navigate to and from their seats is not pretty. I'll continue to patronize them as they are the best theater around my home but I'll do a Happy Dance when they finally get their act together and remodel. So they just barely get three stars.

Instead, the property felt tired, worn down, and was lowkey very neglected. The maintenance issues were impossible to ignore. Paint was fading everywhere, the iconic LEGO bricks on buildings and sculptures looked washed out, and a lot of the park just didn't look clean. Dust was literally caked onto vents and fans, like they hadn't been touched in ages. It gave the whole place a dull, dingy vibe instead of the playful, colorful atmosphere you'd expect from a LEGO experience... The Ninjago ride breaking down with people stuck on it was another huge red flag. Rides malfunction sometimes, sure, but when the rest of the park already feels poorly maintained, it doesn't exactly inspire confidence. And maybe the biggest disappointment: it just didn't feel like LEGO. Instead of that bold, creative, brick-built world, the park gives off more of a "knockoff LEGO" energy. Like the idea is there, but the devs did not execute it properly. Its giving tourist trap vibes... Just save ur hundred dollars and put it towards going to Disney or Universal... Like bro what do they even do with the money they earn from the park.. BUT THE STAFF ARE VERY SUPER NICE!! Overall, the experience felt underwhelming and outdated. With the price of admission, you'd expect a park that's clean, well-kept, and full of that signature LEGO personality. Unfortunately, this was not IT.

My son turned in two games, for which they "generously" gave $2. After finding one he liked, (which was about $6) we went to check out, only to find that, for the $2 trade-in, I had to give my driver's license, THUMB-PRINT, sign the screen...all BEFORE even scanning my debit card...THREE times. I was then told, "It's telling me this is an invalid card". Trying not to allow my head to explode off my shoulders, I explained that it was in fact VERY VALID. By then I was so distraught, and felt so violated (I've had less trouble purchasing a firearm!) I just left with, "I'm done. Give me my TWO DOLLAR games back...and here's YOURS back...and I WON'T be back!" All he kept saying was it was "Florida State law...like in a pawn shop". REALLY? MY THUMB PRINT for $2??? Holy cow....no thanks. Now, I'm worried that I'm going to get hacked...after all, Big Brother now has all my information. I'm surprised I didn't have to give a DNA sample...Just sayin' I'll pay full price in the future, thank you very much.....
