The only downside is that whole place can feel a little cramped, depending on how many people are there. If multiple birthday parties are going it can be hard to maneuver around in the non-skating area or to find a place to sit down. There is barely room for two people to walk abreast from the door to the skate rental area because you have to navigate your way through the tightly-spaced snack bar tables. There is no good out-of-the way spot to help a beginner. But they do have PVC "Skate Mates" for rent that kids can use like rolling walkers to help get the feel for it. Even the floor feels a little small, but it makes up for it in quality. My daughter, a beginner, got scared that people were whizzing by her too closely and some even bumped into her. She prefers the much larger, but substantially less classy, Skate Zone in Winter Haven for that reason alone. For all other purposes, Skate World is superior. Go on a slow day, and your experience will be darn near perfect. Go when it's busy, and you'll have to tolerate being in close quarters with a bunch of other people wisely looking for the same perfect experience there.

They updated…read moretheir policy recently where they want to collect a bunch of personal information like date of birth, phone number, address, etc before even getting in. It felt very invasive and I questioned how good their security is and how safe my data would be. Their platform was also glitchy and didn't work right. We ended up just changing our minds and left without skating. I won't be back until they reverse this new policy change. Too bad.

YOU are not allowed to hang out in lobby; they are very on top of who comes in and out. Including adults ...! Food is not too pricey, and for the parents their music playlist is pretty dope. music and lights are really great, clean restrooms. a little area for the beginners, but it's an overall really nice for the family. Calanders are available w/ their monthly events by the snacks, FEBUARY events looks nice and busy for the kids :), prices are awesome! The other staff were very welcoming and friendly, bilingual and open to assist. Wonderful place. Def a hidden GEM!!!!

Yet it turns out the entry fee should be $8 and on top of that indicates in my screenshots from the official website that parents aren't even charged when they're spectating. When my wife when to the lady up front to claim all of this , the lady in front didn't cooperate for refund, only stating "umm well they only tell me what to charge and everyone pays here!" Like are you serious? And we demanded to speak to the owner and she didn't want to call the owner , but only handed over 2 complimentary vouchers for next time! It's a matter of principle and we were owed $12 bucks yes not a big deal but it's all about ethics! Like why don't you guys go on and skate your way out of here cuz the only track they got is robbing people. Truly awful and looks like they got more reflecting to do based on their service

Yes, you did hear me correctly... they have an ice skating rink here! Enter into the "Do you wanna build a snowman?" area and you'll find real ice everywhere along with buckets and shovels to help gather the snow. Make sure to be careful though (and watch your little ones) because the ice and snow are quite slippery. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/oakens-frozen-funland-orlando#KyYKeJTFx5ECbo7-LqJxyQ If you want to try your hand (or feet, I should say) at ice skating, there is a $10 fee to do so which gives you 30 minutes on the ice. This fee includes skates, gloves, and a helmet. Skating is first come first serve and is open until 6pm. bookmarks folder "News" The workers come out every now and then with a small zamboni to remove the grooves and smooth the ice. I saw this done once and just afterwards, a couple of Arendelle citizens (a young man and woman) come out on the ice and skated for approximately 10 minutes. They are professional skaters and they skate along as a pair to some of the popular songs from Frozen. This is not listed in any of the guides, etc. Imagine my surprise when they hit the ice! I was excited to be there while this was going on. It was great to be able to watch! I absolutely love watching figure skating. You'll also find Olaf's snack stand inside here. Lots of yummy goodies! They have three different kinds of cupcakes: Elsa (white cake w/ buttercream icing) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/oakens-frozen-funland-orlando#RlLfcPBcxh9DGIGMgQu6aA Anna (chocolate cake w/ buttercream icing) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/oakens-frozen-funland-orlando#wVcDAPSmia-udBcAHUrQig and Olaf (carrot cake with cream cheese icing) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/oakens-frozen-funland-orlando#NvGcUD3IKZAoFb-Rr2jgew Sprinkled on top of all three cupcakes are tiny edible snowflakes. There's a stick thing in the top of the Elsa and Anna cupcakes with their photos on them and at first I thought it was plastic and you just pulled it out. I laid it on my plate, but I kept touching it and it appeared to be smearing some. I asked my husband if it was edible. He said it was plastic. I told him I thought it was edible. He said, "Well, I'm not going to bite into it and break a tooth." So, after inspecting it some more, I finally gave it a slight bite and what do you know? It was white chocolate! Surprise! The one on top of the Anna cupcake is also white chocolate. I did take a photo of Olaf's cupcake, but I can't for the life of me remember if he is white chocolate or a marshmallow or what. I did hear people raving about how good the carrot cake cupcake is. Also, I really enjoyed my Elsa cupcake. The cake was perfectly moist and the buttercream was just the right amount of sweet without being over-powering. The cupcakes I had definitely can go neck and neck with some of the best cupcakes I've had from legit cupcake shops! They are also big; I had to eat mine with a fork. Also at the snack stand, you'll find a very special Olaf plastic cup which comes filled with a blue raspberry slushie http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/oakens-frozen-funland-orlando#pUj-qdsNY34SvHoVJxcHoA SO GOOD! These cups are pretty awesome too. Because of the size of them and the way they are shaped (the lid also snaps on nice and tightly), we've been bringing them into the Parks empty (we have three of them) with cans or bottles of Pepsi. You can get free cups of ice at any QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) Stands and we've been pouring the ice into the Olaf cups for our Pepsi. Saves some $$ on buying Disney drinks, let me tell ya! I just wish you could get them refilled with the blue raspberry slushie at a discounted price. That's why we've ended up with three of the things... we can't get enough of the slushies. Click this link for a photo of other items on the menu and also for prices: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/oakens-frozen-funland-orlando#ACWSHujZZgSyUOBQteMJQw Finally, if you're wanting to get out of the Florida heat, this is the place! It's all about Frozen, right? Yes! It's definitely cold, cold, cold in here.... Brrrrrr!

If you used to…read morego skating when you were a child and are looking for some nostalgia this is definitely the spot to hit. We took our daughter here recently to get some wiggles out and just enjoy learning a new skill. She's only been skating a few times around our neighborhood and we thought that this would be an immersive way to get her into the hobby. Definitely check out their calendar of events and when they have good offers and deals. You're likely to score a cheaper price than regular pricing if you pay attention. They also have themed nights and exclusive school nights. You can bring your own skates but you'll need to make sure that they pass the skate check. They do have some limitations on skates you bring in to ensure that their floors don't get torn up. As a side note you'll also want to make sure you bring in identification for all adults, and leave any food or drinks that come from outside in your car. Learned both of these the hard way. They have a smaller child skating area that helps them learn before they get out onto the bigger floor. Our daughter enjoyed this so that she had a little bit of time to learn before being thrown into a large space. We did have her try out the large space after about an hour of practice. They also have a limited number of arcade games, a small cafe, and a birthday party room. Overall: A Well it is a bit dated and could use some upgrades, it brings with it all the nostalgia of my childhood so it was still a win. I would definitely come back for a visit but try again on a non weekend day when the pricing is a little bit lower.

The walls are hues of yellows and blues that come from a JC Penny catalog circa 1990. The skate floor is a faded blue, and the sound of clanking roller skates fills the area only to be drowned out by the blasting music of contemporary pop hits. The sounds clash between yesterday and today. There are a few phone screens that glow underneath hand-drawn cartoon characters. But that's the charm. Galaxy Skateway doesn't pretend to be something new. It embraces what it is, a time capsule of what life was like. Going to the snack bar, you're greeted with a menu board with plastic blue letters, and you get a discount when you pay with cash. When my daughters walked into the skate rink, one thing that stood out was how many people were just... skating. People weren't on the sidelines looking at screens. All that was there was a DJ and simple skating games like Four Corners and Stoplight. Cliché songs from the 90s like "The Macarena" played as people rolleed past, all under the flashing neon lights. To me, it was a piece of nostalgia for a time long since gone. It doesn't have updated features and the building looks straight out of the 90s, but that's the point. You don't go to Galaxy Skateway to experience the 21st century. You go there to experience what life was like before Steve Jobs walked out on stage with his iPhone.
