I have been going to this place ever since it opened. Today a girl started to trim my eyebrows before cleanup and when questioned, her answer is thats my style if you don't like go to another person. This was my first time having my eyebrows threaded. I've waxed them my entire life, the last 10 + years I've gone to one of the other large chains, but the last few years my skin has been too sensitive and I had two bad experiences, which was one too many. My brows needed a clean up bad, I didn't know what to do so I finally decided to give this place a try. They look better then they have ever looked! Not only that but I was out doing errands with my boyfriend and you would never have known I had just had them done, my skin was left perfect, not waxy or red or shiny. I explained to the woman my history with my skin being sensitive. I was able to walk right in without an appointment with only one person ahead of me. I was a little nervous while she was doing it because you can hear the hair coming off, I was afraid she was taking too much or they would be thin, but they looked amazing! More natural then they have ever looked. What I really appreciated was when I asked her if I should do my lip or anywhere else on my face she thought needed cleaning up (you know how you can't tell until you look in your car mirror and see random hairs?) She looked me over and said no. You KNOW that most places would say yes and take your money which is why I am taking the time to write a review. This is the second time writing this review, can't seem to find the original one I posted. Went to Art of Eyebrows in Salem NH around 5:00-5:30 on August 1st. My first experience was good. This experience however was a nightmare. As you can see in the picture, I ended up with all these little cuts from the thread and yes, they hurt. Will never go back there. An update: I did just get a call from the owner who stated she has spoken to the technician who did my eyebrows and that this can happen (don't know anyone else it has happened to and I know people that have it done all the time. It also was fine the first time I went). She did offer to send me a refund as well and apologized for my experience. read more

I am shocked to see so many bad reviews, though I have only been here once but it was excellent! It was on a weekend and there was no wait, so i was in and out in 5 mins! The girl I had did an amazing job with shaping them. I feel like wax hurts more and leaves my eyebrows red longer. It was so cheap too, like 12 bucks so I left a good tip. We are new in town and my eyebrows needed a little TLC. When I drove by this place.... I thought why not give it a try. Biggest mistake ever!! The threaded screwed up one of my eyebrows badly. When she finished she showed me the results and I wanted to cry. She asked if I liked it and I mentioned that one eyebrow is messed up- her response was "no, I don't think so". When I got in the car I noticed a huge chunk of hair missing in my eyebrow. I am so embarrassed, somehow I have to wait until my eyebrows grow back. I have a full time job, a healthy social life and I am very embarrassed to go out in public looking like this! One would assume the results would be close to flawless when paying a trained professional and all. Do yourself a favor and avoid this location at all cost! read more

Terrible, terrible service. They don't let you look closely in the hand mirror--they don't even let you hold the hand mirror--so I had no idea until I got home what a sloppy, careless job they did. Art of Eyebrows is a clean and nicely decorated "stand"-type business located on the second floor of the Rockingham, in the space between Dunkin' Donuts and The Body Shop. It is not a kiosk like, say, the Piercing Pagoda, but it is also not its own, closed off room the way most stores are. It is definitely a designated space that is private enough though; you're not sitting out in the open having your hair removed. I have had two of the three women who work there thread my eyebrows, one of them several times, and they were both wonderful. They listen to what you want but also really understand how the shape accentuates your face, so if you have no idea what kind of shape would be best, don't worry! They also work very quickly, which is good because depending on when you stop by, there may be a few people waiting. Having plucked, waxed, and threaded my eyebrows, I would say that all three pretty much hurt the same amount relative to the number of hairs you're pulling out with each. Having said that, though, threading is safe and much better for your skin. It doesn't have the long-term effects that waxing can have, like hyperpigmentation on the olive skin of people like myself. It is also kinder to sensitive skin that is prone to irritation and reaction. The prices are reasonable ($12 eyebrows, something like $20 for eyebrows + upper lip) and the results last anywhere between 2wks-1month depending on the color and texture of your hair. Realistically, if you don't mind plucking your own eyebrows, you could come here for a shaping once in a while and maintain it yourself the rest of the time. If you don't want to splurge on electrolysis or laser, threading is definitely the next best thing! read more

I was a bit apprehensive to have a service done at a booth in the mall, but after getting over my "fear" I tried Art of Eyebrows right before New Years and just went back a second time again this week. All I can say is my eyebrows finally have an arch and I was amazed by how precise they could get with the angling. Threading was quick and I felt it was less painful than waxing and my skin seemed a lot less irritated than it has in the past after waxing. I am picky to let anyone touch my eyebrows, but whoever you have here will do an awesome job. I will say the $2.00 lotion/message seems a little over priced to me. It was like only 30 seconds. But it was a busy day for them. If you are a first time customer make sure you sign in at the front desk with the tablet. Sometimes they don't tell you and you stand waiting longer. Quick, price was in my range, only $12 for eyebrows. No appointment needed. The process itself only took about five minutes, I was in and out. The young girl, unfortunately I did not catch her name, did an amazing job. This was the best eyebrow job I've ever gotten. The girl shows me the final results and asks if I liked it which I mention that my eyebrows were still thick AND one was way different than the other which she said she was aware but she wanted the other one to grow the same. This is the worst experience I have ever had with eyebrow threading. I typically go to the Threading Spa at Burlington Mall, but since I was shopping in Rockingham I decided to get them done there. Before she started I told the lady that I had been growing out my brows to be thicker, and that I only needed a clean up. There was a lot more pain than usual during the service, and after I understood why. She made my eyebrows so thin and took off hair that hadn't been touched for years. I've been growing my brows out to be nice and thick for about a year now, and need to start over now thanks to them. The Art of Eyebrows has moved into a storefront at the Salem Mall, on the second floor. This was my first time doing anything like this. I walked in and only waited a few minutes. The store is nicely decorated and comfortable. The woman greeted me, and I said I needed help with the shape of my eyebrows, and that I didn't want to look too sleek, just cleaned up. Wow - what a fantastic job. The arch is nicely defined without making me look surprised. The pain was less (and quicker) than when I pluck on my own. ive been to many locations and have had amazing experiences! Dec 22 i went to the one at the Rockingham Mall the first time ever it killed and the lady there did both eye brows in two mins. Then asked if i wanted cream. I was shocked and said said can I see them. They always sho you first. you didnt do top? She acted like she didnt understand. The next day my side of eyebrows all irrated first time ever. Today 4 days later all growing back in. clearly she did not do threading properly and broke the hairs instead! I used to love this place and i would come here pretty much every 2-3 weeks on the dot. I was always in love with my consistent results but lately i haven't even wanted to go back. They're is one lady who i will only ever want doing the threading because if i don't i feel like i'm sitting there forever and i still have stray hairs. I went the the other night the same time as another girl and she left probably 10 minutes before me. The older woman i got was extremely rough and kept pulling and pulling and was taking way longer than usual and was actually hurting me a lot. When i would move my hand on accident because it was painful she would shove my hand back and tell me to hold it. When she was done she walked away without showing me the mirror or anything so i grabbed a tissue and paid with no exchange of words even when i gave her a tip.
