I came here with my friend to get our nails done for our birthday, and we decided to each get a full set! The service was amazing, and started right when we walked in. We called earlier with an appointment and they greeted us warmly. The lady who did my nails was sooo nice and told the funniest of stories omg. I forgot her name but she was just great. She did an amazing job with my nails, even when I actually messed them up when they were drying under the uv lamp thingy LOL...it was actually my first time getting acrylics and it felt weird and new so I guess my fresh polish touched the inside of the uv lamp. She was super super nice about it though and fixed it and I felt so bad LOL..I offered her a huge tip to make up for it My nails costed $41 in total, $35 for the sparkly polish and acrylics and an extra $5 for my request to make the nails ombré! Take note that if you use card there's a $1 fee. I definitely recommend this place as the base price is $30 for a full set. This is the easily the worst nail experience I've had. I live up the street from this place so when I came as a walk-in, he told me wait time was one hour. I said it was fine. I came back an hour later and still waited another 25 minutes because always just one person working here. The first thing he says to me is "you don't take care of your nails huh?" I got a full set for $60, he was way too rough with my hands, drilled them way too close to the nail bed and when he filed to shape them was way too rough. I'm not the type to complain or really speak up, but I had to come back for a removal 10 minutes later because my nails were stinging and throbbing they hurt so bad, not only that the lengths were all different sizes, one hand dried gloss and the other stayed a dull shine and had fibers baked into the polish. At first he just kept saying "let me change the shape, Let me change the color I will fix them" but I told him I just wanted them off because they hurt too bad. I had to ask him to soak them off because he was going to PRY THEM OFF them with a plastic nail form!!! I asked for a refund and he said that was fine, but he would charge me a removal fee. I said that was OK. He ended up charging me $20 plus my five dollar tip for the removal when their price board said 8 dollars, and my hands looked like this coming out. Extremely unhappy with this experience. This was maybe my 3rd time here and he always has something negative to say about my nails when I build furniture for a living. Manicures should be relaxing, not stressful or worrying if he's going to cut me again or file too close to nail bed. Never returning and I suggest you read more reviews as apparently his service never improves. In this photo is a half assed 25 dollar acrylic removal, focusing extra scrubbing on the cuts on my nail beds and using an extremely hot bowl of water with another bowl of acetone on top to "speed up the process" when sensitivity was the whole reason I wanted to get them off. Not sure if he's a sadist or something but I would never recommend this place to anyone and I've never left a bad review in my life. my friend went here to get her nails done for a graduation ceremony she had. The guy let us in without appointment. My friend showed him an image of what she wanted and he said $55. Then he sat her down got everything ready, as he was doing the manicure he cut her cuticle. The set did not end up looking good and she was upset. After a poor nail job at a different nail salon, I decided to look for a different place to get my fill done. This place popped up and it's just across the street from Mt SAC which was fantastic. I got there at around 10 and was out at 11:30. Took a bit longer than usual as I wanted a more time consuming design and it took an abnormally long time to soak off my old SNS (they put so many layers at the other salon that Thai commented on it lol). Thai was super helpful and awesome. There was plenty of communication to make sure I left with exactly I wanted. I've found often times I leave nail salons not getting exactly what I wanted because of poor communication. He wanted to do all pink in the SNS and then white & gold glitter gel over it respectively, but let me decide if I wanted to go with his idea or stick with mine (all dip powder). I settled on SNS using 3 different dip powder colors with a gel lacquer on top. Not only did he do the basics, he also cleaned up my cuticles and massaged my hands and arms for a bit as well. The place I usually go to would forego or charge extra for it. Here's the cost breakdown: $5 manicure/soak off $35 SNS $5 gel top coat $1 charge for paying with credit/debit card Pricing was competitive if not slightly cheaper than places I've been in the past. If you're looking for a place that's reasonably priced, clean, has a nice color selection, and does great work, go here.... and definitely ask if Thai is available. read more

I can't believe I've lived in Walnut for so many years and haven't gotten my nails done here. I came in at around 1 pm and was seated rather quickly. There were already two customers inside. The technician that helped me, Thai, was very considerate about what I wanted. As soon as he got started he was very patient and careful, even when more customers started to come in he paid attention to my nails instead of rushing. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he asked consistently if I approved of what he did and I appreciate that. He even recommended nail designs that would look good with the colors I chose. My nails turned out BEAUTIFULLY and I can't stop admiring them! Some of the edges aren't completely painted , but I do not mind because it's barely noticeable. They are a bit thick for my liking, but at least they won't break. A full set(acrylic and gel) is $40 and the design was another $5. I've also gotten my nails repainted here because I was unsatisfied with how another nail place did them. I was sat down after waiting a bit, it was pretty busy. The lady, I didn't get her name, was told to do a fill and gel but I told them I didn't need a fill since I originally got the full set the day before. She then cut my cuticles and put some oil on my skin that burned my pinky a lot. I didn't want that at all, but I just let her do her thing. She repainted them with gel and the total turned out to be $29. I didn't complain, but I should've spoken up about what I wanted. I chose a gel manicure, which was $25. This is very reasonable for gel nails. I chose white gel nails as i always have a hard time painting my own nails in white. I feel he could have put a third coat of white on it for a more uniform white look but it did look pretty good. It's been about 1.5 weeks now and the nails are going strong. there are some mild chips but overall they're fairing well. I decided to show some support for this place since my kid is friends with the owners kid. What a mistake that was!! I was shown a menu by a non English speaking employee and proceeded to choose the service. Once complete, they charged me 30% more and justified it by saying that they charge more for men, even tho it was not stated anywhere. Owner told me that his non-English speaking employee should've told me that but did not lower the price to what they have it on their menu and didn't even bother apologizing. This place is dump. We had a party of 6 and needed our nails done on late notice for a wedding that weekend. After the nail place around the corner denied us right away, I decided to call and Thai told us they could work on us in an hour. We decided to get some shopping done while we waited. We came back and started our nails, which took a good few hours as we all got both manicures and pedicures. Thai and Cindy were both the kindest, most personable people to talk to and they made our experience very enjoyable. They stayed open late just to finish our nails which was so so appreciated. They're both so hard working and it shows. My little sister was scared of getting her pedicure and Cindy was wonderful with her! She helped her calm down and realize it wasn't bad at all. Beyond all else, their prices were great and we all loved our nails. They lasted for weeks! There were a couple spots that we thought could've been done a bit better, but nonetheless they were amazing. Horrible quality nails. I paid $76 for a full set and a pedi. 3 days later my entire full set fell off all at once. All 10 nails! I went back to the nail shop showed them my receipt, and asked them to fix it. I even took back all 10 nails. They told me they only had a 48 hr guarantee on their work. I had a very poor experience here. I went to get my toes done for a wedding and I was the only customer there. I asked for white gel and he started to paint them light pink after choosing the wrong color due to texting on his phone. When I asked to change to white, he said it was white and then later he went to go get the right white color since he chose light pink first. I got my nails done here on New Year's Eve by the male owner. Immediately, I felt that they were in a rush and the owner was very rough with how he was doing my nails. He did my nails very fast and I didn't feel comfortable. Whenever I said ow, he would just look at me and didn't apologize. Fast forward to about 3 days later, one of my nails were already falling off. I went in to get it fixed by the same guy and he asked me, "what did you do to it?" Anyway, he got some nail glue (the one you can get from the store) and just applied glue on every nail around my cuticles. This made my cuticles very dry because there was dry glue on my nails. Now it's been just over a week since I've gotten my nails done and EVERY SINGLE NAIL HAS FALLEN OFF. EVERY SINGLE ONE. I paid $48 too, which is pretty pricey for gel acrylics. I'm upset because I'm back down in San Diego and I have to pay to get my nails done all over again. (Just wanted to mention that I've been getting my nails done for 2 years now and my acrylics usually last for about 3 weeks to a month because I take very good care of them. I find it rare that while doing a design if your nail tech messes up or draws a crooked line, etc. that they themselves stops and fixes it before you saying anything. But Leyna did just that! If I could no star, I would! After removing the old gel on my nails, my nails become very sensitive and thin. I can see through the redness of my nails. All I need is very simple: just removing the old gel. And then they sent me a guy! Who knows nothing about manicure! After putting the nail polish remover, the guy didn't wait for a minute, he used a super unprofessional home nail tool to remover the gel. My nails hurt! A lot! And that is the only tool he use! I feel so sad for my nails! Feels like any man on the street can do manicure for you. Then a lady came and said that she could remove the gel for me! I've been going to red persimmon for years... until today. Today I went in and Khai helped me fix my 2 broken nails. He also taught me to look at the entire acrylic: the fake nail has to cover your nail bed entirely, otherwise it'd be prone to breaking... and that's exactly why I went in today. I ended up wanting a polish change as well and that's where we noticed the sloppy job from my other salon... khai fixes all of them and was very patient with my requests of narrowing and shaping. The whole staff is very helpful and friendly! I've been coming here for a while and used to love it! But now it seems the quality of customer service and work has taken a sharp decline. I recommend a friend who went and twice her nails came off after two days. I myself recently made appointments and was made to wait for walkins to be taken before I was taken care of. This last time it looks like I did my own nails except I paid someone to do a crap job on my nails. I made an appointment with the owner to do my manicure but per usual he was busy taking walk-ins and stuck me with another girl. I really wanted to give this 5 stars :( I get my nails done about every 2-3 weeks depending on how the gel polish lasts on my nails. I wasn't near my regular nail shop and so I thought I'd try a new place out. Looked on yelp and after reading many reviews I chose this shop. Reviews were great and I felt confident. I really wish I would've just waited because I hate my nails. First, I really liked the fact that they accept walk ins and they are very friendly. Alan who did my acrylics was super sweet and constantly asked if his work was okay. (I've been getting my nails done for over 15 yrs, so I know what I like) Lately, I've used gel but after my nails kept chipping I thought I'd try acrylics again. Anyway, I got white tip with acrylic and I absolutely hate them. They are bulky and the white tip is about half my nail...Ugh Looking at them is painful and I'm a bit embarrassed by them too. Although, I would ask him to narrow the nail and make them thinner AND file them shorter he would agree BUT wouldn't change much. I'm going to my regular nail shop with my tail between my legs to have them fixed. My sister got acrylics too and her nails came out looking fierce. But then her nail tech was new and mentioned to my sister that all she did at her old shop was acrylics and that they're used to doing only gel-manicures there. This place has gone downhill since changing owners. I haven't been here in a year since having a baby. None of my favorite nail ladies work here anymore. On my last visit one of the workers was having an argument with the manager. I walked in today at 10:20am, it's Thursday, and there was only one person doing nails. I sat there for 5 minutes without being acknowledged, so I got up and left. This place is close to home, but I won't be coming here anymore.
