I found Art For Your Face several years ago in the DC area. I was very pleased with the service, selection and knowledge of this shop and Larry, the owner. By the time I needed glasses again he had moved the shop to Williamsburg. It was an easy decision to make the 2.5 hour drive from DC area to Williamsburg for my new glasses. Maybe you can shop around a little for frames, but when it comes to the appropriate lenses it is definitely best to have someone knowledgeable in new lens technology and proper fitting. Different frames, mounting techniques, and lens add-ons can be a lot to understand, Larry can quickly determine the best options for what you need. I love aviators, especially mirrored aviators. Larry had the perfect frame and lens for me. He told me of a new option for a mirror-like transition lens that can be used with a progressive prescription. No other optical shop told me of this new option! I love my new 2.5 italees so much that I also got Kawaski 704 glasses that I had been wanting for a while. read more

We met Larry & Roxanne in their old location years ago; frankly its been hard to believe how much time has passed. I have ordered 4 pairs in that time, one of them just last month in their new Williamsburg location. I also updated the lens in a frame I had purchased from them some time back. Although unnecessary, we went down to see the new space and catch up. Larry had both pairs of glasses to me in the timeframe he promised, with uncompromised quality. I put them on, ready to wear immediately. They have a great selection of high quality frames. Yet with internet, phone, and FedEx, it's even easier to place orders with them. I've received the same phenomenal service that I did when it was at Tyson's corner. Outstanding quality, service, and quick delivery that I did when the store was at Tysons. I ordered one pair of custom prescription sunglasses and they were delivered in less than ten days. I then decided to order a different style for a different purpose and they were delivered in 8 days. 8 days from order to delivery of high-quality, prescription optical lenses is amazing by any standard. I've trusted my eyewear needs to Roxanne & Larry for at least 10 years now and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. The personalized care I get, plus the best-quality lenses and most beautiful frames I've ever had have given me the best vision I've had in my life, and I'm a -8 with astigmatism with progressive lenses. There is no comparison between Art For Your Face and those chain stores that claim to give you great vision at low prices. It's been my experience that you get what you pay for, and at those places the service is terrible and the product is mediocre at best. I have never had the professional and personal service that I received from Larry. My eyesight is poor and I have worn contacts for YEARS but I told Larry I wanted to get a pair of glasses that I really LOVE so that I would wear them more often. I have never had frames I liked all that much and never really cared because I rarely wore them in public BUT, thanks to Larry I have worn my new glasses everyday so far. Larry looked at my prescription and took the time to look at HOW I wear my glasses on my face and he made sure to help me pick a frame that not only looked great on me but would well with my prescription. My wife and I have been customers of Larry and Roxanne's since they were in their old store in Tysons Corner, VA. Even when we moved too Pittsburgh, PA, and now in Wilmington, NC, we will continue to be their customers until they break our hearts and retire. This review is very tardy, which is NO reflection on the establishment. Earlier this year, I decided to treat myself to a more stylish look by accessorizing with my glasses. In addition, my current ones had started to leave a mark at the bridge of my nose. In any event, I experienced a fabulous two for one deal! My husband and I have been going to Art for Your Face for a couple years now. Just had to share the wonderful experience I just had. I live in Alexandria VA, Art for Your Face is in Williamsburg VA. My son broke my glasses, and I was like ok now what. Mr. Larry is awesome!! I love the fact that he values his customers unlike others retailers they just want your money and provide poor service. His store is a little pricey, but is worth every penny your spend :) I went to buy my glasses earlier this year with Mr. Larry at Tysons Corner and three weeks ago I damad my frame and lenses. I called Mr. Larry and he said he moved to Richmond :( I explained to Larry what happened to my glasses and he told me to mail it to him, which I did. I recently purchased prescription glasses for both myself and my 11yo daughter from Larry at Art for your Face. He is really great at explaining all of the options and super helpful in finding the right frame and lens. My daughter has had a lot of trouble finding a frame that is comfortable to her and as a result she hasn't wanted to wear her glasses. Larry is Awesome! My husband and I have bought at least four pair of Costa sunglasses from him and his customer service is above and beyond. I was deciding between two different color frames. Larry let me wear one for a few days and return it for the others if I did not like it! Biggest selection of costas around. Very helpful. Great customer service...I hate how other stores employees follow you around and watch you try on the glasses or you have to ask them to get each pair for you. Art for Your Face is not like that at all. Very comfortable and laid back, you can really take your time and see what pair you like with no pressure. I went in on a whim looking for a back up pair of sunglasses. My husband swears by Costa so I thought I would check them out. Larry's knowledge of glasses was unmatched. He was equally happy to show me any brand, as I tend to lean toward Maui Jim, and in the end I purchased my "first" pair of Mag Bay Costa's.
