Call me a snob, spoil If you must, but I dare you to spend money on this...
When everything else is booked for the North Sea jazz the Art hotel looked like a sensible choice. Driving to Ahoy was just a breeze, plenty of parking space.
**ok
The lobby looks like it has been forgotten since 19never, it is out of date.
We spent 3 night, each time we time we had to renew the keycard, refusing to give us 2 cards was a bit frustrating.
Requesting fresh towels was frustrating
***Staff walking in on us while we were naked to just for dirty towels. Thank god she didn't have her smartphone with her, could have been a story.
***don't expect any amenities (tea, coffee) in the room
**Great mattress
Lousy pillows, don't get me started on the covers or whatever they are.
Ok ok ok: staff
I am always friendly to get the best out of people, however when you have staffs who are not happy with the current owner it is never ever a good sign.
After complaining about our room not being clean, the hotel staff are trained to just ignore the issue and dismiss you as a guest.
The reception is a mess!
***Whenever you have a owner who really don't care, that is never a good sign.
This hotel is a cash cow just because of the location
***When a restaurant INSIDE a hotel doesn't want to deal with the hotel is never ever a good sign.
Thus said, we found pleasure chatting with the staff in the restaurant, especially Ieva from Latvia, she is always running from the restaurant to the hotel lounge to take good care of her clients, Bravo.
Would I recommend this hotel: no
However, if want to upgrade from a very bad hostel, this would be the next stage.
That is not a hotel/motel, this owner needs to sell it to someone who knows how to run a hotel and wants to run one.
The owner needs to hire staffs who can do the work and are qualified
This hotel needs a facelift from top to bottom
Would I go back? I almost choked at the thought. Not even if it was free.
