The Manhattan Hotel was a very nice, very convenient hotel in Rotterdam. The staff was helpful with ideas of what to see in the area and helping me with the best route to get to the conference I was attending.
The rooms were nicely appointed, and the beds were comfortable, but they were on the firm side. The gym is open 24h/day, and has several different machines, free weights, and a balance ball. The breakfast starts every morning at 06:30. It had a wide variety of food, and was nice. My hotel reservation included daily breakfast which was convenient.
I'm taking a star off since during my stay the heater in my first room went on and wouldn't turn off, so I had to change rooms in the middle of the night (literally). I was glad they were able to accommodate me with a new room. I docked a star for the heater issue and because on check-out, I saw that when I checked in, the person who checked me in applied a €1 donation to a charity that I did not approve. I was not asked about it. They were able to refund my €1 to me. I should have been asked at check in to avoid the inconvenience.
The hotel is now in the Marriott family of hotels. They switched over during my stay, and I think you can start earning Marriott points in February 2016.
If I am ever in Rotterdam again, I would gladly stay in the Manhattan Hotel, and I highly recommend it to others! read more
