No artistic experience needed, just bring a positive attitude and an open mind for creativity! There is no wrong way to paint at these classes, you will begin the class uneasy and perhaps overwhelmed but you will leave with a finished piece that will leave you inspired and excited to paint again! The teachers here are bubbly go-getters that incite your imagination and open your eyes to the fact that though you may think you are talentless, but by the end you discover there is some hidden aptitude roaring to come out! Art by the Glazz is different from other studio painting sessions because it's not as serious; they are leading you through a painting, not completely instructing you. They guide you through a particular painting by providing a small example print out of what you are doing but the insistence will be to make it your own by providing you a variety of colors that aren't even in the example and showing you techniques on their own canvas instead of painting by number. Everyone's canvas will be different and unique by the end of the class unlike other studios where everyone only has small differences based on their level of experience. I personally as an artist that has learned in a structured classroom, find the way they conduct the class to be invigorating, it has helped me to loosen my hold on my usually precise brush and experiment with new ways to do things (and actually finish a painting in one evening!). During the class you can expect music to be playing, toasts to be made with your small wine glasses, and conversations to be happening all around you. Towards the end, you will feel as if you have made new friends and will be amazed by all the other artistic gifts surrounding you. The wine glasses may be tiny but they are generous in refilling, be thankful the wine glasses are small because it prevents anyone from being too tipsy to drive after the 3 hour session but giddy enough to get loose and feel good while painting. Do not waste your money! I bought a groupon as a gift for my friend. First date was cancelled due to an emergency, they said don't worry! Well reschedule for a month from now and we will make it up with more wine and fun. A month later and the morning of I receive an email saying I had to confirm whether I was coming to the makeup class. That was not mentioned in the previous email at all. So I start fanatically calling, and emailing. No response. My friend and I decide okay we will go and discuss. At this point I'm pretty irritated but I try to give the company the benefit of the doubt. They're busy, it's Saturday. We arrive that night and there are a group of women waiting outside. They said they had been knocking on the door for half an hour with no answer. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

I wish I could have given this place zero stars. I signed up about a month ago for the milk and cookies classes and brought my two nieces for this class on a busy Saturday afternoon for one of their birthday. I even received a confirmation email from the studio the day before confirming my visit. Apparently this woman Lisa rents the space from an art studio in Chantilly that teaches kids. I show up 15 minutes prior to the start of class at 3:15 as per the email instructions and she is no where to be found and apparently has not rented the space which she typically does to teach the class. And now half hour after the class was supposed to start she's still not here and not picking up the phone. After she told the owners of the studio she was on her way. I would highly recommend not buying this groupon. I am going to demand my money back! This lady sucks and ruined my nieces birthday gift!!! read more

Can I give fewer than one?? Horrible service. The web site doesn't always work. Once we were able to book, we were canceled the day before. Coupon extended for a few months. Again, trouble using web page. Left messages by phone and email. Picked a date, was told that we were confirmed. Went to location in Sterling. No one was there. The restaurant said it has happened before . They called, we called. Found out the artist was in Alaska. Interestingly, we were the only four there yet the time we were canceled, they said a group of four was not sufficient. I called and texted and emailed and have yet to hear from ANYONE in the organization. That was 10 days ago. We will never use nor recommend Art by the Glazz. There are other groups that do the same thing. Try one of them. read more

Art By The Glazz is a gimmicky scam!!! Stay away from this place, and the Groupon vouchers for it. I got two Groupon vouchers and tried to make a reservation online. Firstly, their online calendar had dates that were all wrong for upcoming events. I think it says a lot about a business if they don't even care enough to check the accuracy of the events and dates they put on their website. It also wasn't possible to reserve a space for most of their events because although the calendar said "reserve here", there was no hyperlink to a reservation page. A few events were hyperlinked to a reservation page which wants you to purchase an "application code" in order to make a reservation. When you click on "add to cart" under application code, you are taken to a Paypal page to pay $50 to a "Georgetown Valet-The Cleaners". I don't think that Art by the Glazz is even a legitimate business - it is a gimmicky scam using Groupon to reel in victims to its fraudulent little scheme. I tried multiple time to get someone to help me make a reservation so I wouldn't have to purchase an application code since I already bought Groupon vouchers, but the Art by the Glazz was unresponsive. They never returned my phone call. Someone did get back to me by email saying they could help make a reservation, but then never did, and despite further follow up emails from me, I never heard from them again. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM ARTIST AND SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You will never get a refund from Groupon either - they just cut and paste the same information from your voucher and send that to you, followed by another email asking you to rate their customer service (which I believe is in India) - ridiculous. It makes me realize that one better be sure that what one is purchasing through Groupon is not a scam because if it is, you will never see your money again. read more
