I've never been a part of a school that works just as harder as you do. To get you to understand the material, to make the material alive and vibrant. Having Michele as my instructor, we had something in common, which is the acting background and she brought real estate to life; even the boring parts of real estate. She made learning fun, excitable, and the most coolest part is I could hear her voice while I was on testing, and that made it so much more amazing. Jason the director of the Go School of Reality is an excellent instructor as well we had the pleasure of meeting with him; what a down to earth person! These two people together are a power team and I am highly sure that the other instructors are superhero's as well! If you decide to go to school for Real Estste hesitate no more Go School Reality can open that door!

The practice bar was not at all what one would encounter in a real setting. No sinks, ice bins, soda gun and the liquors on the speed rack were just colored water or plain water. It would be useful to practice in an actual bar before opening given the cost of the class.

The whole thing was reading a work book out loud and playing fake kitchen fisher price style. And the test you take at home on your own time. I would encourage any parent to take a look at Ravenscroft and dig into the great things that take place there.

I was reluctant at first to pay for and attend any bartending school simply because I know it is…read morepossible to become a bartender (and a good one at that) without going to a school. I figured that the school would just be easy and although likely fast paced, not very difficult at all and after speaking with Anthony at length about whether or not I should do it, I decided to give it a shot. Quick and short version: FANTASTIC and I am 100% happy I did it. For anyone looking for more details, read more below. On day one I pulled up and immediately became even more skeptical. The school's location was not at all what I would expect from a school that has been around as long as they have. When I went inside I started to feel a little better because I realized that the school had been built to resemble a small local bar with 4 full bars for students to practice on. I met Anthony who (due in part to how much of a pain I made it for me to join I'm sure) remembers me by name and welcomed me and the rest of the students enthusiastically. He proved himself to be a very kind individual. Then I met Kelly. EXTREMELY knowledgeable and passionate about teaching. We ran through recipe's and bar etiquette as well as laws and speed drills until today. Graduation day. I was very nervous but our class came together to cheer each other on and next thing you know, we were passing the written and speed tests like professionals. The last thing I will say is do NOT do the one week course if you get easily frustrated. Take the time to make it two weeks because one week was extremely rough. I had a very hard time with some of the recipes and honestly thought there was no way I would pass let alone do as well as I actually did. This is a firehouse of information. You will drown in the amount of information you receive but you will feel confident in your abilities afterwards. Oh yeah, I'll be one of the bartenders at the New Years celebration at the Sheraton in downtown Raleigh thanks to this course... so ignore these people talking about job placement doesn't work. I got certified today and have a job next week.

When he went down to Jamaica and became a big shot? That used to be my dream! So when I found out there is actually a school in Raleigh that teach and certify students to be come full fledged bartenders, of course I jump on the first chance I could get. The school is located in a rather compact upstairs room in an office complex off Six Forks Rd, but it sort of give you a real feel of working in a real local, hole-in-the-wall, kind of bar. The instructor for my class is very knowledgeable, being in the business of going on 25 years of bartending, hosting parties, and instructing up and coming young bartenders. There is a solid structure to her method and course work, and always challenge to learn and practice more. I wouldn't be surprised if I can handle myself our there in the Raleigh nightlife after finishing my certification. So remember Coughlin's law: never tell tales about a woman, she'll hear you no matter how far away she is!
