I had been meaning to do a bunch of repairs on my house (which is just about 13 years old and remediated 6 years ago) and was trying to reach out to different people to do different jobs with varying levels of success. The result was a backlog of things to do and coordinate with different parties. I originally reached out to David for some help with repairing a shower door that had fallen off. He replied quickly and showed up to do his estimate as scheduled. While he was over, he looked at a bunch of the other things that I needed to have done and offered to do them as well. He repaired everything in one day only a few days later. I have to applaud David for his courage to start his own business. But this makes sense for him. He knows he is good at what he does and he is organized. He is highly professional in his correspondence. He will outline precisely what he intends to do. He is timely. He is versatile in the tasks that he can perform. He possesses initiative. And he will follow-up with thorough documentation of what was done and needs to be done. Payment is also easy and he accepts a number of modalities. I have attached some of the pictures he took for the various jobs including: 1. Window blind replacement 2. Water valve and supply line replacement (more details below) 3. Ceiling fan remote control failure diagnosis 4. Watersealing of door threshold (more details below) 5. Tub spout repair 6. Shower door repair and adjustment (I contacted a bunch of people who would not offer to do this) 7. Sliding door repair (which another contractor said they would fix but never did) I want to comment in particular on his ability to diagnose problems. For the longest time, my kitchen faucet had slow flow. Just the kitchen faucet. Over the years, I contacted perhaps 3-4 different plumbing companies. They recommended ridiculous things like increasing the water pressure to the house (which didn't make a lot of sense given that the other faucets were fine and was impossible because the pressure was already maximized) and even replacing the faucet altogether (which would cost $220 for the same model and not resolve the underlying problem). David diagnosed the problem as excess calcium build-up in the valves and he was right! He knew the answer when all the professional "tradesmen" did not. I also have what some people would call a "lemon" for a house. The contractors that built it did bad job. It was remediated but even after this remediation, I had problems. One of them was the balcony door which would leak water when it rained. I contacted the builder and they said that my second warranty had expired and they recommended how to repair it. Suffice to say that they were completely wrong and David uncovered some pretty shoddy workmanship and commented on the unorthodox remediation which would lead to the problem. I should have had David remediate my house. Overall, I am exceedingly happy to have stumbled upon this gentleman and would be pleased to refer him to others. He is basically the "doctor" you want for your house. I hope he stays in business a long time.

My microwave oven range hood is not satisfactory and the smoke alarm goes off all the time because I cooked a lot and generated a lot of smoke. I found TX5J Handyman ("Daniel & Crew") on Yelp and contacted them. Danel came over, did a detailed FREE inspection and gave me a competitive quote in 24 hours. I then decided to hire them for the job. They came in at 7:30 A.M. in the morning to beat the summer heat. It requires piping and extension exhaust vent directly to outside top siding. I got frustrated and started a project on Yelp, TX 5J handyman responded very fast to my inquiry and came on the same day to give me estimate. Then gave me a very honest diagnosis for a short term fix and long term fix. I went with the short term for now and they came back the second day to fix it now the drain doesn't leak anymore. Daniel is very fast response to my inquiry over the text; and they did a good job fixing it at a decent price. Highly recommend for others to use them.

We were very disappointed with our experience overall. The project started with one estimate, but…read morecosts alsmost doubled without clear communication or advance approval, particularly with the electrical work, where only part of the originally discussed scope was completed despite much higher charges. We ended up removing items from the project just to stay closer to the original budget. We also had concerns with the quality of the patching and paint work after the electrical installation, which was left in poor condition, and we were then asked to pay extra to complete or correct it. Finally, after measuring our pantry, the contractor ordered approximately custom doors for $1200 that ultimately did not fit the opening and would have required modification during installation. After consulting another contractor, we learned there were much simpler and less expensive options available. Overall, communication, scope clarity, workmanship, and transparency around pricing and change orders were lacking.

Unfortunately, I did not have the kind of experience I was hoping for when he accepted the job of…read moredoing our shelves. While he did get them back up when they were pulling away from the sheetrock, he did not install them at the same level requiring the trimming to be left off since it could be installed over several levels. Glue applied to put the shelves back together visibly is running down the back of a couple units, and the interior shelves were not assembled - a task I was able to complete myself but something I would have expected to be covered in the amount paid. Area was also not cleaned up afterwards, and I was required to supply a ladder and floor coverings - items which I would again assume a handyman would have available. I do wish I had been able to leave a better review, but if someone does work that makes me not want to ever use them again, I think it's only fair to let others know they may also want to be careful using the service.

We had a long wish list of repairs and weren't entirely sure who could be relied on for the work we wanted done. Even though we had a recommendation, we decided to get multiple quotes, 'cause that's how we work. Ultimately, we decided on Gabriel for the majority of the work, only hiring one other person for speciality tasks to get done while Gabriel worked on the rest of the house. In the end, we didn't have everything on our wish list done, but we definitely had a TON of work done by Gabriel and his team. Gabriel is a great guy, very chill and kind, and creates a team of nice guys. We fully trusted Gabriel and the whole team, leaving them to manage the work and never worried about things along the way. If anything happened that we weren't 100% pleased with, Gabriel took care of it. Many times we shared breakfast or lunch with the guys, making for a comfortable work environment for everyone involved - because, well, it isn't easy having construction go on daily for weeks is it? So... what did we have done... 1) Entire revamp of sprinkler system - last minute two days before our grass was delivered! This required some follow up work, but Gabriel followed through each time. 2) Skylights in our master bedroom 3) Built an entire bathroom 4) Installed faux beams in two rooms 5) Built a "secret door" :) 5) and a gazillion little jobs that he just was nice enough to help us with We have called upon Gabriel multiple times for work on our house.
