I had Friday off for Independence Day and we wanted to get out of town for a few hours. I had seen…read morethis place on a list of 'botanical gardens in the state of Georgia' before, so we decided to drive down and check it out. After driving 90 minutes and grabbing lunch nearby, we arrived on the Middle Georgia State University campus around 12:30 p.m. on a Friday. This was after the Spring semester ended and during COVID, so things were pretty dead anyway. We entered the campus, and found that there were a marked lack of any signage about the (on-campus) botanical gardens. We drove around and eventually parked to consult a maps app on our phone. Undeterred, we parked and walked towards what was indicated as the location. I stopped to read a sign and discovered that, in fact, we were *IN* the garden. Ok, look...I'll admit that this is appears to be a fairly new campus and it is nicely landscaped. There is a lake with a small island with plants, etc. There are a lot of walking paths. It was quite pretty, as campuses go. I've spent years on uglier campuses, certainly. However: calling this a botanical garden is really a stretch. It is more like a 20% enhanced landscaping with a few signs. If you really like plants and have a lot of time to kill and are in the area, by all means stop by. If you are contemplating driving for more than 20 minutes to visit this place (specifically for the 'gardens', I would advise skipping it).

In no way should this be considered a botanical garden. It is a college campus with some plants. Do…read morenot waste your time, like we did, unless you plan on attending this university.

We love the park. Just wish it had bathrooms! We don't live over here so we can't just go to our…read morehouse to use the bathroom. But we love all the play sets for babies and big kids.

This baseball park field offers a ballfield, two dugouts for the teams to stand/sit in, restrooms…read more(men and womens) and drink/food stand. The restrooms offers single stalls only which means only one person at a time in the restroom for both men and ladies restroom. How does the restrooms look for both sides? They need to be really cleaned. Seating/bleachers for the players and family to sit to watch the ball teams play. Plenty of parking around the ballfield upfront and the outfield. If you are disabled or have a hard time walking there is plenty of parking up front. The front parking area is a steap hill but not bad at all so keep that in mind.
