I had a very frustrating experience with this pain management office. After driving all the way in due to being hung up on twice over the phone, I was met with dismissive and rude behavior from the front desk staff member, Kendall. I was told the doctor had already left and that my medication would be sent the next day, but the way this was communicated felt extremely inconsiderate--especially given the pain I'm in and the effort it took to get there in person. Patients dealing with chronic pain deserve to be treated with basic respect and empathy, and unfortunately, that was not my experience in this interaction. That said, I do want to recognize Sarah, who overheard the situation and stepped in to help de-escalate. She was professional, understanding, and took the time to assist me in a way that made a real difference. Her compassion did not go unnoticed. I hope the office takes feedback like this seriously and works on improving communication and patient care moving forward. read more

I really like my provider, Dr. Patton, but the clinic's patient portal and appointment reminder system are a serious problem. A few visits ago, my phone number was somehow changed to a number I haven't had in years. The strange part is that all of my pre‑op calls came through without any issue, yet this incorrect number caused me to miss a schedule change because I was never notified. The office updated my information, but here we are again. I have an appointment tomorrow, 5/11 at 7:30 AM, and I've received no confirmation call, no text, and the portal won't even recognize my account. There's a message telling me to check the portal, but the portal says I don't exist. At this point, they really need to return to having an actual staff member make confirmation calls. Someone who lets the phone ring more than five times and actually leaves a message. I don't want to drive over an hour for a 7:30 AM appointment only to find out it was changed or cancelled without anyone notifying me. The care from Dr. Patton is excellent, but the communication system is unreliable and needs serious attention. read more

I was referred here following a referral from my insurance after an ankle injury. The type of care I received I was very disappointed with. The office is nice and that's the only nice thing I can say. The staff seem grouchy at best. Even the doctors have a bad attitude. When visiting and explaining my reason for my visit they didn't even say a word barely and just stare at me, only typing on the computer and only speaking to ask a random question, never speaking in response to what I'm describing. The next appointment to view my MRI the doctor says "point where there's pain on the MRI" and barely looks at it. Only tells me that everything looks normal. I am experiencing swelling and pain still as well as loss of function and the ability to use some toes normally. The best they offered was temporary steroid injections which I declined since I plan on getting a 2nd opinion elsewhere. If you have a serious injury I recommend going anywhere else. If you like feeling like you've been listen to and respected, then go somewhere else. These doctors look like they care more about dying their grey hair and getting plastic surgery more than they care about their patients. I feel like they just wanted to bill my insurance and not give me the help I needed like your typical lazy doctor. Please save your time and money and go anywhere else. read more

Terrible no concern for their patient's once I waited 45 min to be placed in a room where I waited to see the (P.A.) not the dr. I made the appt. to see and waited another 25 min. The second time I sat in the waiting room (properly named you wait) I sat for 55 min. and was never called. I went to the desk and told them I was leaving. The girl "said well you are #3 to be seen". I said "take me off the list, I am leaving. I told them "if the dr. wants to pay me what he makes an hr., i'll sit here in the office all day. they over-book, over charge and really have no regards for the people who make them rich. read more

I have been to two different Doctors, at Arrowhead. Dr. Burton in Hemet and Dr Elsissy in Redlands. I needed a hip replacement. The result of my first surgery was an accidentally broken leg ( which they didn't acknowledge for two months), and constant pain. Whenever I complained about the painful, swelling broken leg, I was treated like a whining woman and ignored. When I finally forced them to acknowledge it, they actually charged me for the minimal... well actually none... treatment. The hip joint also kept popping in and out. So, I tried another doctor and had another surgery. One thing I have to point out, is you rarely see an actual doctor. And, when they visit you, moments before surgery, you feel as if this is the first time they've actually taken a cursory glance at your chart. It doesn't provoke confidence. The result of the second surgery, to correct the first, is constant excruciating pain ( and they absolutely will not prescribe pain meds), a clicking and clonking joint and a leg that is 3 inches shorter than the other, causing a huge painful limp. Needless to say, I am NOT HAPPY. It looks like I will be on pain meds the rest of my life. Walking is horribly painful, and I can only go a few steps w/o having to sit back down. My once busy life has become sitting or lying down. Draw your own conclusion. read more

This place ! My husband had knee replacement surgery with Dr Burton whom he met for the first time the day of surgery on Monday. We called Thursday to ask about a puss blister. We were told to come in ... we waited over an hour in the waiting room . Many people came in after and were taken back before. Finally after complaining about the long wait the nurse or assistant took us back onlto tell us that we needed to be seen by the PA. She then put us in a room and we waited another 20 minutes. The PA was very nice but the rest of the staff was horrible. Good luck getting a call back after leaving messages. There are too many doctors out there to deal with such poor service. read more

These folks refuse to fit me in. I really hurt my knee and can't walk. They're not merciful at all. The keep saying July is the first they can see me. The pain is so bad, I can't sleep. The ER says to "follow up with your ortho." Thats what I'm trying to do! "Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do" is what Arrowhead Ortho says when I call. That just throws me under a bus. Terribly difficult to make appointments. Once you get one be prepared to wait for hours to get in and see the doctor. I've been assigned Arrowhead Ortho for Work Comp injury and it's always the same. Even once you get to exam room you'll be there forever. It's pretty clear they over book on purpose which is a disaster since it's very clear everyone shows up for their appointment. They have sent me to three different cities in the IE to be seen because of Doctor availability. I've never been able to figure out why it's common practice in the medical field to wait forever to be seen. read more

I had a total hip replacement surgery done by Dr Burton. I wasn't allowed the requisite 4 week appointment to see him directly as per the orders. I had to see assistants and then the only appointment I could get was 7 weeks after my surgery and I had to drive 60 miles from my home. He insisted everything was fine even though I was in mind numbing pain that did not allow sleep. His PA's were pathetic and each one told me something different. My second available appointment with Burton was 7 months after my surgery with the pain still at a level 8 out of 10. Still he insisted everything was fine and made me go back to the physical therapist who proceeded to put me in a position (and walked away) that laid me up in bed for weeks. Please, do yourself a favor and find anyone else. Month 14 and 1/2 after surgery, I can finally walk and sleep with a variable pain level of 1-4, and that's only because I had developed my own exercise program. Plus, if your looking to get hooked on opioids they prescribe them like candy even though I insisted I would not take them. Horrible experience. read more

For Pain Management Dr. Nikachina is heaven sent. She is a very kind and gentle surgeon who listens to you and has an incredible amount of empathy. My husband and I are incredibly fortunate to have a Surgeon of this caliber available to us in the small town of Hemet. And the Physical Therapy at this facility gets the job done, especially Pablo. I love every single one of the doctors I've seen here, Dr. Skubic who performed my back surgery, Dr. Lee who is my pain management specialist and Dr. Burton for my knee. They all have incredible compassion considering they always see people in pain (challenging). I have a Bachelor's degree in nursing and have seen both sides of the coin in medicine. It's not easy to work with people who expect the world and give little appreciation to what you can do for them. The receptionists have always been very thorough with my intake. I've gotten to know them all from multiple visits and they are good people. It's sad to see some of the reviews on this site, but I personally will stand behind my positive review. read more

Went for initial exam for knee pain, knee swelling, cartilage loss, service was good, but waited 3 months to see the doctor and felt good to be seen, called the office later and got runaround when I asked about forms for disability And my being unable to work in my previous occupation. Or full time. And doctor was really in a hurry to leave me after telling me bad news that i need surgery, i froze, scared and was shocked and couldn't think of ask any questions it was partly my fault, doctor burton took in house X-Ray and said I needed double knee replacement surgery and I'm only 52 yrs old too young for surgery thats what Dr said. What's Supposed to happen to me waiting before the surgery and how long to wait wasn' t told this. as I am unable to return to my previous occupation walking 5-10 miles per day, have tried working full time unsucessfully and now work sporadically if at all less than 20 hrs per week because of aching chronic pain, it was devastating news but I was still skeptical that my knees were junk, he offered steroid injections, custom knee braces which are disappointing (they don't do anything but cause more discomfort) and topical pain killers, he explained that I have inner knee joint narrrowing, my bones touching on the inner knee causes the pain and bowing legs,it wAs sad news for me as I knew it was serious before I even saw him, can't take the pain, stiffness, bursting feeling, and loss of range of motion, can't bend my knee straight , squat or kneel without intense knee pain, that magnifies after normal and intense activity, although it was good to get expert opinions regarding my knee pain, weakness, swelling and instability where do I go from here im slowly losing my mobility and abilities it's scary and wasnt given a timeline of what's going to happen with My problem. it isn't going away what am I supposed to do in in limbo can't hold full-time job and social security giving me 3 years of run around merry go round -, My Next appt is Jan 2019 keep you posted decided that I'm not going to continue at arrowhead have mixed feelings about unpleasant experiences with Dr Burton's medical assistant telling me that when she fills out my medical source statement it will state nothing that I'm not disabled What's the big deal about filling out disability forms? would you continue seeing a doctor who's assistant claims that I have no disability Dr burton tells me I can't return to my previous work, and my primary doctor has me on work restrictions?Time to look for a new doctor because of his med assistant treating me this way with no empathy although I thought Dr burton is a good doctor he told me there is no cure for osteoarthritis and have to cope with it until I turn 62 to get surgery that's 10 more years of pain and suffering? He could reorganize or refresh his stale office help tho! Something is not right here maybe reshuffle reorganize or redo job descriptions of work load. read more

Do not plan to go here again. IF osterarthritis in the knee is not worth bothering with, then do make further appts. Both times I have seen Dr. Burton's assistants who are delivering me the info. First time, told no cortisone shot due to other surgeries, told to make next appt. for shot. After doing so and waiting over an hour am told no shot ( not in enough pain evidently) BUT they would give me pain meds. Waste of my time and as I told them I have been dealing with this knee for over a year already. Guess limping and not being able to walk like I used to is not enough for even a cortisone shot or THE DR. to speak with me. read more

The worst office staff and doctors. I had an appointment on 12/14/2021 at 920am for an wheelchair evaluation. I checked in at 9am. I was taken back to a room by staff and told the Doctor Lee would be right with me. After about 10 minutes the girl came back into the room to tell me that Dr. Lee was 5 minutes from seeing me. At 1050am I walked out after having never been seen by the doctor or the office manager I asked to speak with. Also I was in the room so long that the lights went off 3 times as they seem to be on a motion sensor/timer. I think I may have even dosed off while waiting. Then apon complaining to the front desk staff I was given an appointment on 1/11/2022 (a month later). Later I find out that they had no medical file on me. When this appointment was for a wheelchair evaluation. I ask, how is Dr. Lee going to make a decision on if I need a wheelchair and what type with no files, test or reports from other doctors that I have been seeing for years? I guess Dr. Lee has the special ability to see a patients past, present and future. Dont waste your time at this pill/drug dispensary for addicts. The doctors are crap, management is afraid to talk to a patient and the staff dont communicate with you. If I could rate less then 1 star they would get a -5. read more

Like all physical therapy places they have the damned TV going all time so I use my headphones playing white noise so I can stand being there. Other than that they seem to be AOK 100%, After viewing my MRI my doctor told me they were going to fix my back with physical therapy and not surgery. Wow, it worked! The front receptionist Yvette (she's at the Hemet office) was very rude! It was my first appointment, there for a painful foot/ankle injury. She wasn't kind, welcoming, or professional. I was handed a tablet to input my information, and Yvette said (mid-way through),shouted out across the room LOUDLY and RUDELY, "I need your $20 co-payment". Another customer (I mean patient) noticed how rude the girl was. This was said in front of the other patients in the waiting room. I just felt like a number and $$ signs. I have good private insurance and I felt demeaned by her behavior towards me. After paying my co-pay, she said also in a condescending and rude tone: "YOU won't have time to finish that, they will take you back". Granted, I'm quick, and finished it well before "I was taken back". I waited a long time in the waiting room, finally "taken back". After the Medical Assistant took a history, I waited for about an hour for the doctor. He apologized for the long wait. This is a medical environment, and Orthopaedics at that, the staff should be professional, polite, and welcoming. This reflects negatively on the entire practice. read more

I had a good and bad experience with this facility. The good was with Dr. Hadley who is an outstanding doctor that was treating me for my foot problem. The bad is the front receptionists and the extended wait time. My 4th visit there was on 11/10/16 and my appt. time was 9:40 a.m. There were so many patients waiting to be seen and it appeared they either over booked or a physician called off. I waited until 10:55 a.m., 1 hour and 25 minutes later until I got up and asked for my copay check back and told the receptionist I could no longer wait. She didn't even apologize or ask if I wanted to reschedule. She just gave me my check back and said, "here ya go." I am a registered nurse who has worked in health care for 25 years and this kind of treatment is disgraceful to patients. If you can't see your patients timely then you need to let them know what is going on and that there will be a long wait time instead of letting them sit there for an hour and a half. These people need to take classes in customer service. read more

Wow has anyone else had major problems with Arrowhead Orthapedics? I went to their San Bernardino office once when they were little. Now that they have all these offices they seem to have real problems. Today I went for series of shots in my knees (three in three weeks) which I had been waiting for since April (in april I had cortisone and it didn't work so they had to check with my insurance to see if I could have these shots, said they would call me and schedule as soon as they could). Well they called and today was the soonest they could get me in. I got there and the nice girl as the desk says, your appointment is in Redlands. I said no I wouldn't make an appt in Redlands, I've had all my appt.'s here. Well of course someone had made it in Redlands, and they were really rude and tried to bully me into going to Redlands (made me stay on the hold 15minutes to talk to a supervisor who was also rude) Finally nice girl made new appts, How soon you ask???? JULY 7!! Yes I can't get in to get them until then because the PA I saw is busy, I said I don't care who give me the shot. She says dr somebody is your dr. (I never saw a dr they just assigned me a dr) this is his only PA. Good grief!!!! read more
