I collect original film posters. I recently came across one from a European country for a famous American film. Something about it caught my attention and now I'm up to my eyeballs in haunting unique graphics whilst i researched this unique variant of some thing I love. I heard Arrowhead custom framing had moved recently. It was 2 minutes to a closing time. I asked the proprietor about the Eastern European country and everything known for then maybe posters. In a big smile in his face and said "oh boy do they!" A book appeared from nowhere and we spent the next 20-30 minutes looking at examples. Tell them if I got any of these I would bring them to him because they're not cheap and they're the best and preservation and framing but also it was closing time on a Friday night and I'm sure he had things to do and places to go but he instead of shunting me at the door Tell him he answered all of my questions.It's hard to get personal service like this anymore so without a doubt I recommend Arrowhead Custom Framing for obscure available and not so obscure secure artwork. 5 stars read more

For more than 25 years we've taking all of our business to Arrowhead. Today everything changed because of a mistake THEY made. After breaking a mirror we were having them frame and waiting three months for them to admit to the mistake (we were told the job would take one month), they gave us the option to wait another two weeks or cancel the order. We chose to cancel. Today, when we went in with a new job, we were refused service because they felt "burned" by us. THEY felt burned by US! The manager (not the same very nice family that used to run Arrowhead) insulted us in front of other customers in the shop. Shame on him/them. I almost never post on Yelp, but I am so sad that I have decided to do so. We have been having our framing done by Arrowhead for more than 25 years. This fall when they broke a mirror while reframing it (something they did not let us know for several months), they gave us a choice to cancel, which we did, saying we would just buy another mirror. Just now, we went in with an antique Russian print. The person working there, looked at us, asked our name, and told us that they had been "burned" by us over the mirror and refused to work with us ever again. We were trying to forget the mirror episode, but we clearly should not have. We are so hurt and angry that based on their mistake they treated us this way. With Arrowhead, you always get what you pay for, and usually more. I am no novice to framing and have seen the work of most all the frame companies in the city. I am also, frankly, picky as hell. I have used Arrowhead for over ten years and for perhaps 50 framing jobs, including many that required ingenious archival framing of sensitive, delicate, sentimental and historically valuable material. I've had several things framed by Arrowhead over the years and most recently, I brought in my husband's law degree and a painting that my grandfather did in the 1950s. As usual I was very impressed by the quality of their work and their customer service. Degrees are kind of boring, but Arrowhead's staff spent time helping me design something fun and original. They had lots of unique frames to choose from. My grandfather's painting is very important to me and I was excited to finally give it the proper care it deserves. The staff recommended materials that will preserve the painting and it looks great. I like to support local, women-owned businesses when I can. I have used Arrowhead for 4 projects over several years. It's difficult to write a witty review on something as mundane as picture framing, so I will stick to the facts. These folks are professionals, every time I used them they made a thoughtful recommendation for my frame. The work was done to a very high standard, and completed on time. The prices are bit higher than some of the chains, but you get real craftsmen (or is the term craftspeople?) who care about their work. I highly recommend Arrowhead for framing both high end art and decent posters. If you are trying to frame something simple and want an inexpensive solution, then Ikea may be a good choice. But for the good stuff, this is a great option. read more

Please please please, if you care about your artwork do not come here for stretching or framing. We recently moved to the area and were searching for a good framer. After reading the positive reviews I had high hopes, but one of our pieces was damaged by Candy. I brought in a couple of things, one for framing and the other to be stretched and framed. The selection is okay, not extensive, but not bad either (a lot of the samples she has on the wall aren't actually available). Anyway, Candy unrolled one of the pieces and dropped a weight on it carelessly, bending the paper. Unfortunately the wrinkle was not fixable. I was upset, but mistakes do happen, so rather than go elsewhere we decided to go forth with the order. What a mistake. When we picked up our items, the stretch job was AWFUL. Absolutely shoddy. You can see wrinkles in the canvas where it was improperly done. Also, she didn't clean the piece, so it had all sorts of debris on it, from who knows what. What a disappointment, especially considering she's charging top-notch prices, which would be just fine if the work warranted it, but it certainly did not. read more

They did an excellent job re-stretching two original paintings I brought back from traveling abroad. They took great care of my art and built custom sized stretcher boards and braced the large piece well to prevent buckling, all at a very reasonable price. I've gotten four pieces - some screenprints and other originals - framed here so far and have been immensely happy with the result. One thing I love about this place is that they're willing to put the time in the beginning to go through several mattes and ideas to see what works and what doesn't for your piece. If you're feeling in over your head, the time they give will leave you reassured. There have been instances where I'm sure I know I what I want for a certain piece and other times where I'm completely at a loss, and the discussions of color, texture, and contrast for the frame-up allows for greater comfort than I was anticipating. I would share our bad experience with the shop owner Candy. We had a few large pieces of art framed by her store previously. She has always been cold and not very friendly, which I thought was very strange that we have given her thousands of dollar business, at least she could be more friendly. I have another art to arrive soon so I walked into her shop this morning and wanted to work with her and make some selections. She was extremely rude and looked angry, and said that she would not work with us because we would have her price and go somewhere else, and showed us the door. I walked out of her store stunned! I have no idea of what she was talking about. I have never been insulted by anybody like this especially when we have given her sizable business previously. She was referred to us by our interior designers. I told all of our interior designers about today's humiliation. They are all shocked and would not refer any more customers to Candy. read more

This place was great. I walked in just to get a painting and frame fixed that I broke and they fixed it for free. He asked if I wanted a new frame since the one it had was old and a bit cheap but all I needed was a fix so he grabbed his staple gun and patched it right up.
