Not responsible! No truer words were ever written. You may…read moreget yourself a decent roof by this company but you better hope they do not destroy anything of yours, because they are not responsible for themselves or their work. Our family home was hit with the Rogers tornado. Since this time I have often wondered why it was Midcon we hired, out of all the choices we had. Now that I have returned to see all the wonderful reviews, I am hit with a great sadness because this is not how we were treated. However, if you're looking for a good time please read this review and then hire literally any other company. The face of the interaction was Jacob Spurlock. At first, it was very friendly and professional. Once we paid our first payment from insurance, communication began to lag. I addressed this with Jacob and he said it had been his fault and I asked him to do better, he said he would. He stopped by to apologize to my husband and to drop off a 25.00 gift card to acknowledge their short comings. He told my husband that they had taken on too much work after the tornado and we had fallen through the cracks. This company has a serious issue with cracks, but more on that later. The whole process was laid out by Jacob. The project manager (Caleb) would take care of everything and make sure we were taken care of. None of this was true. No one ordered our materials. They forgot us again. We scheduled an appt for Monday. Still no show. Forgotten 2xs and stood up at least once. Project Manager? Once our roof was being installed Caleb was on site for about 45 min and then left, never to return. Their workers didn't speak English but needed to use the bathroom to go #2 because they got left by his crew. Where was Caleb, the project manager? Both Midcon and we took photos of the driveway before the roof was installed. Our driveway has been standing proudly for 20 years. This ignorant and incompetent company parked a dual axel trailer on our driveway right in front of our garage door so that they could throw removed shingles into it. We didn't know all that weight would collapse our driveway. We hired Midcon to know these very basic details. The parking of the trailer should be a logistical details and should be under the scope of the project manager. They had photos of tiny cracks in the driveway before the install. So it seems negligent to park there in the first place, but then to also not accept responsibility afterwards after it collapsed, is also negligent. We wrote a letter to Midcon stating we were not happy with their services and asked that they accept responsibility for their mistake. One day later, 2 days before Thanksgiving, Christian Daniels response was that their contract states they are, "NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR CRACKS." The next day, the day after Thanksgiving, we were again requested to pay, and this time ccd to their attorney's office and they threatened to put a lien on our home. Kind of seems like they knew they had done something wrong. The result: $20,000 to $30,000.00 worth of damages, and it is now spreading. Please see attached pics, yes there are hairline cracks in our 20 year old driveway from before. Please see the after pic of the destroyed driveway. This is how they left the driveway of a 100% disabled Special Forces Veteran. I, his caretaker will now be coming out of retirement after years, to pay for this mistake. If I can keep even one family from going through what MIDCON EXTERIORS put us through, after a natural disaster, no less, we may get some sense of satisfaction from that. Also, team if you find yourself going through a difficult time professionally or personally and you wonder however could you possibly go on, remember sometimes Karma is a B-word!!!

First Star Exteriors - Roof leaking into attic

I hired First Star Exteriors in September 2020 to install a new roof and fix attic ventilation…read moreproblems noted in my inspection report. Their solution was to add two turbines to prevent heat buildup and future damage. In late 2024, I discovered a leak in my kitchen ceiling. First Star immediately blamed my solar panels, but my solar company confirmed the leak was nowhere near their system. Soon after, another leak appeared in my living room ceiling where no panels exist. An independent roofer later confirmed that the attic ventilation was not properly addressed, the roof decking is compromised, and there are now five separate leaks. The results have been devastating: costly mold remediation, multiple ceiling repairs, and two years of mold-related health issues. This is exactly what I paid First Star to prevent. To make matters worse, I've called and emailed repeatedly--including to the Director of Operations and the owner--for over six weeks without a single response. First Star not only failed to deliver on their promises but left me with tens of thousands in damage. I would strongly warn others not to trust them with your home.

They worked hard, got the job done, and addressed minor issues as they came up. However this company's downfall is their production/scheduling coordinator - 2, maybe 3 stars. Terrible (no) communication, scheduled workers without coordinating with the home owner, and unapologetic about errors made (I could go on and on...). It took nearly 5 months to complete our project! Unfortunately, we would not use them again because of this.

America's Best Choice - Specialty Windows

    America's Best Choice

This company is the WORST company I've ever dealt with!!!!…read moreWe spent 40K on every window in the house!! Plus 3 doors and one exotic front door!! This has been going on for 8 months now and they still have caulking left to be done! Some of the windows were crooked to the eye, I was told it was because of the brick surrounding the window? Three months later after enough complaining magically they took the same window out and trimmed it to fit square!!!! The front door is something to behold, $12K for swapping to a beautiful 8' door with cut glass:) The first door delivered was the wrong size? They had to sand and file on it to make it close!!! I said I want a whole new door that had correct measurements!! That took 2 months!!! The installer used high gloss black silicone to fill the 8 holes drilled to hold door in place. The door is flat black? Installer used his finger to smear the excess silicone???? Talk about zero craftsmanship!!!! After many complaints months later they brought out touch up paint. It's better but for $12,000 I expected it to be perfect!! The job is still not complete as the trim molding inside the new front door needs caulking, they have been here 3X knowing the molding needed caulking left each time caulking still not done!!! Really nice people but their work is sub par at best! I could mention 5-6 other things that I paid for but didn't get done until I was threatening to hold $$$ back because this was such a nightmare!! Job still unfinished, they are paid in full! Use at your own risk!!! I wouldn't give them one star, I had to give them one star to complete this!
