There are two levels to the boat, and we headed up to the open air top level. There are a variety of tables and chairs available for seating. The lower level offers the concessions, though there was a friendly staff person who came around and offered to take orders and bring things to your table for you. They showed a movie that was about 20 minutes or so long that reviewed the history of the boat and the area, and then the remainder of the time you could enjoy the river and area. It was interesting to hear about the history and nature of the area, plus how the community all came together to not only raise the funds for the recreation of the boat, but also spent hours putting the pieces together once they arrived. Restrooms area available both on board and in a small facility at the dock. There is a nicely sized parking lot available too. They also offer a variety of specialty cruises, which also sound fun!

We've eaten at the Watson Inn several times over the years, but since I've started reviewing…read morerestaurants based on their food, service, quality, and atmosphere, I knew it was time to give this place the recognition it deserves. Five stars without hesitation! We almost always choose to dine at the bar, where the atmosphere is welcoming and the service is consistently excellent. If you prefer a more traditional dining experience, the Watson Inn also offers cozy booths, spacious dining rooms, and banquet facilities for larger groups. Although it's about a 45-minute drive for us, it's well worth the trip. On this visit, we were greeted immediately by the hostess and warmly welcomed by the bartender. As always, the staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel at home. Our drinks and menus arrived promptly, setting the tone for another great evening. I almost always order the Taco Salad, while my partner can't resist the Fish Basket. We also started with an order of the mozzarella wedges, which were cooked to perfection--crispy on the outside, hot and cheesy on the inside. The Taco Salad never disappoints. It's served in a homemade taco shell and comes with your choice of seasoned beef or chicken, loaded with fresh toppings, salsa, and sour cream. I always add a side of jalapeños to give it an extra kick. My partner's Fish Basket was equally impressive. The portions were generous, the fish was perfectly cooked, and everything was fresh and full of flavor. Both meals were excellent and offered outstanding value for the price. Whenever I'm craving a taco salad or she's in the mood for a fish basket, the Watson Inn delivers every single time. Their consistency is one of the many reasons we keep coming back. For my taste, this is hands-down the best Taco Salad in the Central Pennsylvania River Valley. The fish ranks among the very best as well. Between the outstanding food, warm atmosphere, attentive service, and genuinely friendly staff, the Watson Inn makes you feel like part of the family. And while we have our favorites, the menu is packed with delicious options, including excellent entrées, burgers, and wings. If you're looking for a restaurant that consistently delivers quality food and exceptional hospitality, the Watson Inn should absolutely be on your list

This review is for the banquet service at the Watson Inn, not the bar/restaurant. I'm not a local…read moreand attended a friend's rehearsal dinner here, in the banquet room to the left of the entrance. Decor was dated, and the seating arrangement was very awkward--basically several tables in a loop around the room. It was not at all conducive to visiting, which we needed to do because it took more than a full hour after our reservation started before the buffet was set up. The lone server took our drink orders before then, but we didn't receive anything beyond the provided water, coffee, or tea until we were nearly finished eating our meal (about an hour and a half after arriving). The server we had was extremely competent, but one was clearly not enough. There wasn't a restroom convenient to the banquet room that we could see, and the main restaurant was closed by the time we needed to go, so we walked down to the Moon Room--probably shouldn't have been down there as it was set up for a wedding reception, but I'm glad I got to experience the 70s fever dream decor. Still, it was very pleasantly arranged with an ample bar, and it looked like a wonderful time would be had. I'm giving as many stars as I am, because the food was scrumptious. The chicken was perfectly tender, salmon well cooked, and the scalloped potatoes were the best I've had in years. If we had enough time in town, I would have liked to try out the restaurant and explore more of the menu.

Owners Linda and Bill have created a lovely and calming atmosphere throughout this historic home. Classic and uncluttered, all the rooms are spotlessly clean and appointed with comfortable beds and well chosen simple decor. Certainly not the stereotypical lace, floral wallpapered and wall-to-wall dusty antique kind of B&B. Breakfast is always delicious, as are the frequent evening cookies left on the entry table for guests to enjoy at the end if the day. Will continue to make this our home-away-from-home when visiting our Bucknell student.

Bill and Linda were extremely welcoming and friendly. The home itself is beautiful and meticulously furnished. After a day of work-related travel, coming back to soft music, a glass of sherry, and chocolates was probably among the nicest travel experiences I've had. If you're curious about the history of the home, the rooms also feature a picture book with facts about the home and pictures of all the guest rooms. I enjoyed reading it over while having a glass of tea from the Keurig in the upstairs hallway. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip through Pennsylvania... and next time I might stay longer!

So when a family member approached me and asked me if I wanted to stay at this inn, I was surprised; but, after learning more, I excitedly said yes. This was the right decision and led to a fantastic and relaxing weekend away from the city. This nature inn sits in Bald Eagle State Park and has 16 guest rooms, a handful of meeting room/library spaces, and is absolutely beautiful. The rooms on one side of the inn overlook a lake, with the other side facing a cluster of trees. My relative and I ended up facing the trees, but we were totally fine with that - especially since the fall foliage was starting to set in. We were on the 2nd floor, so we were able to enjoy the view from a private balcony throughout the weekend; it looked like the 1st floor rooms had little patios instead, so no matter what, guest rooms have some sort of outdoor seating. Normally, guests would all be able to enjoy a communal patio and fire pit here. Granted, some other guests (as it appeared that a large group came here together) did go ahead and enjoy this space. My relative and I did not because avoiding people is a must these days, but still, what we saw of these spaces looked great. Definitely something to remember for the future. Speaking of avoiding people - it's 2020, so naturally, my relative and I were focused on what the inn is doing to protect guests. The answer is, plenty! Cleaning and sanitizing the inn is a big thing, naturally. The small size of the inn definitely helps, as it's not particularly big and doesn't lend itself to the gathering of huge crowds. Masks are a must and for the most part, this rule was adhered to; I passed by a couple of guests that I think just forgot theirs momentarily, but staff definitely took the rule seriously. Their dining room is currently closed - all meals are prepped and offered as take-out or delivery. Fortunately, the rooms include a fridge, so it was super easy for my relative and me to bring snacks and store our leftovers so that we were stocked and well-fed all weekend. Also, while you can request items that you need for your room, daily turn-down service is not happening right now - that way, only guests are in their rooms during their stay. The result was that I felt extremely relaxed while I was in the inn, knowing that my space and health was being respected and taken seriously. A couple of notes - the mattresses here were admittedly very hard and uncomfortable, and while they didn't ruin our stay, it's still nice to have my comfy soft bed back. I don't really hold this against the inn though since, frankly, I think all hotel beds are uncomfortable by default. Speaking of things I don't hold against them - this is a nature inn, so you better expect some of the local wildlife to try to get into your room. When I first opened my balcony door some stinkbugs fell onto me because they had gathered around the door frame - whoops! The good news is that the door itself was very well sealed, so the little jerks couldn't get in when the door was closed. Again, I don't hold that against the inn at all, seeing as it's set right in a state park. Still, I think it's fair to remind other guests and readers that when you visit a nature park, you better be ready to experience everything nature throws at you. If any of this sounded like something you would enjoy, I encourage you to visit the inn's website to learn more about staying here; there is a lot of information there about a range of other topics, such as how the entire facility is designed to be ecologically sound, what to expect when you visit during different seasons, and what sorts of outdoor fun awaits you in the surrounding nature park. I definitely recommend this beautiful inn as a getaway option - now and in the future; and I hope to be back one day to enjoy more of the surrounding area!
