Review for salad bar only: Well, the variety is poor, there's only one choice of salad, which would be wilted Spring Mix. There's like tomatoes and carrots as add ons. That's pretty much it. Couscous has a bunch of onions in it, other stuff just doesn't look appetizing, french fries were soggy, burgers were already pre-made... They do have a vegetarian version for burgers and I can't speak about the rest of the food, because it most likely had garlic, which I am allergic to. Beets have oil on them? WHY? Healthy? Me thinks not. Edible? NO. May I suggest Tressider for salads?

This dining hall is located near meyer library and near the old gym and athletic facilities (track, pool, tennis courts), so it is great for convenience. It is one of the largest dining halls and serves quite a large amount of students. I think that most of the students are freshman (given the proximity to freshman dorms), so it can get a little crowded and noisy. Food: For a dining hall, I give the food an above average grade. They have a solid salad bar, and a wide variety of side dishes. The main dishes are usually hit or miss, so you should check online first to make sure you're going on a good day. Atmosphere: While it is spacious and they try to make it a comfortable place with TV's all around, I get the feeling that it is a little dirty, and more of a elementary school cafeteria feeling than a restaurant/sit-down place. Especially during the summer, there are often young youth groups that come in waves so that can make your experience a little hectic. Expert tip: I highly recommend you go during parent's weekend or welcome week where parents are there - the food during those days are PHENOMENAL.

For a menu that's a little all over the place (I mean that in the best way possible; Loco Moco *and* Chilaquiles on one menu is diabolical), every single dish we ordered was prepared just right. If you care about your waistline, do not get the Umami Fries with curried ketchup; that pile of deliciousness will have you addicted like a fiend with its tangy, savory flavoring. Deviled Eggs were standard, if not for the hint of kimchi. I didn't try the Chicken & Waffles or BLT my table ordered. I ate my fair share of Lemon Butter Prawns; a side comes with six pieces & trust me, you won't want to share. The Loco Moco was incredible -- earthy mushroom gravy over sticky sushi rice and a chuck & brisket patty. Topped with an egg (made over medium like I requested) & finished with a side of arugula salad (my favorite greens) & I was full for days (just kidding, hours.) We ordered a lightly-dressed Caesar Salad with avocado just to cleanse our palates from all the rich textures & flavors. I'll be back for dinner STAT, so please save me a seat.

While I never…read moremet the man, he has incredible taste, because Sweet Maple has the best breakfast food I've ever had in the bay area. Well worth the trip. The two of us were dubious about the Millionaire's Bacon, because it was hyped up to the point where it seemed unlikely that it could live up to the reputation. We were wrong. We ordered the Millionaire's Bacon sampler platter, which is four strips of long, thick pieces of bacon, baked with brown sugar and spices. There is the original, which is brown sugar, cayenne, red, and black pepper, which was sweet, salty, and the perfect amount of spicy. The other slices were orange, cinnamon, and rosemary. My partner enjoyed the orange best, whereas I loved the cinnamon, but we both thought the rosemary was underwhelming. The bacon itself was very thick and meaty with a minimal amount of fat, and was just clearly high quality pork. Truly worth the hype. We also got the bottomless mimosas, which not only had multiple choices of juice (we got raspberry lemonade) but were surprisingly heavy on the champagne. The waiter kept them coming without us needing to ask, to the point where I had to tell him I was done because I was a little too tipsy for breakfast. My partner got the chicken croffle, and was very impressed. I tried the fried chicken (though not the croffle) and it was very well spiced, very crunchy, and well cooked--juicy and tender. I got the big hip, which is deep fried "french toast". I wouldn't call it french toast myself, but it was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and came with fresh fruit, butter, and syrup. There wasn't enough syrup for the entire dish, but I asked our waiter for more and he came back with it in less than a minute. On top of the food being as close to perfect as you can get, the service was great. Several different waiters checked in on us throughout the meal, making sure we were enjoying the food and that we didn't need anything else. The vibes of the restaurant are really enjoyable too. The décor is lovely, the sound levels are very reasonable, and everything was spotless during our visit. Overall, I can't recommend Sweet Maple enough, and I'm kind of glad it's not closer to my house because I would go bankrupt with the amount of Millionaire's Bacon I'd buy on a weekly basis.

Mid week brunch meant a quieter atmosphere and open seating. After perusing the menu we ordered at the counter before sitting at a table after picking up utensils and water. We ordered Fambrini's Breakfast, Brie & Mushroom Omelette, Crab Omelette, and shares the Lotus Biscoff Pancakes. Everyone loved their egg platters. The eggs were perfectly light and fluffy. I generally avoid omelettes getting scrambles instead because restaurants tend to overcook the eggs. Our dishes were prepared with quality and flavor in mind. I personally had the crab omelette and left no crumbs behind. The potatoes were well seasoned and wish I had enough room in my tummy to finish them off! The drip coffee was bold and delicious not watered down at all! Finally, we shared the 2 stack biscoff pancakes for a sweet finish. The pancakes were bouncy with biscoff sauce and a mound of whipped cream. This was mouth wateringly delicious. I don't have much of a sweet tooth but this was so yummy. This isn't a traditional sit down service but counter staff were friendly and efficient. There is a small parking lot off to the side and there is indoor and patio seating. Our Food: We ordered the french toast and Biscoff Pancakes as our sweets. Both were fluffy and perfectly sweet. We also ordered the Monte Cristo and Chicken Pesto Sandwich. The dalgona coffee looks amazing but is only okay, I'd maybe try something else. It is definitely Cafe style, where you order and pay at the counter first. They usually help you find seating (which is all outdoors) and bring out the food. From there everything is self-serve, whether that's for utensils or simply getting water. The food is delivered very quickly, but not super hot. Overall, I think its good food, and worth the visit if you're in the area.

He informed me that Chef Scott Nishiyama, has a distinguished fine-dining pedigree, having worked at renowned restaurants including Daniel in New York and The French Laundry in Yountville. Also he previously earned a Michelin star as the executive chef of Chez TJ in Mountain View. I told Mickey I'd love to meet him since I was friends with Daniel. "Of course" he said, and a minute later I'm shaking hands with Scott. I was impressed with his humble, sweet demeanor. And then the food, Stephen, our friendly informative waiter gave us suggestions from the menu - I had no idea snap peas could taste that great. Shrimp was better than Spain.
