    Garlic Halibut

Beautiful ambiance with plenty of glass windows, modern design, and most of all, excellent well-balanced food. They place samples of today's menu items on the counter, so you'll know what you'll get, including the size of your meal. Prices are also reasonable for the food quality. I had a garlic halibut. It looks very appealing with those red cherry tomatoes. See photo! It's a cafeteria style, so you pay before eating, they'll beep you to pick up your food when ready, and bush your own dirty dishes. Unfortunately, they open till 2 pm only. Otherwise, it's a lovely spot for afternoon coffee and meet up. There are plenty of pay-parking on the street level and the underground levels of the building. But for Stanford staff who want to use the monthly permit, it may be a little challenging to go find a free spot. Highly recommended for staff lunches and lunch meeting!

Hidden Gem: My Happy Place. This is my favorite place for morning coffee. I love the toasted cinnamon latte or mocha and a blueberry scone. It's a true hidden gem. Enter at the light at Vineyard Lane and park in the back surface lot (free for 3 hours) across from the Container Store. Go in where you see the red umbrellas/tables outside. The staff are so friendly! They knew my name within days. The prices are extremely reasonable, and you're not asked to tip at payment! Ask for the rewards card and get a free drink after 10 drinks. The ambiance is open and airy with big glass windows. In the morning, it's not crowded; almost never a wait and plenty of seats. I could walk to eight different coffee shops from home, but I'm willing to drive 10 minutes to what's become my happy place. Stanford employees get a discount. Highly recommend!

Like most of the recent cafes in the Bay, there is an iPad kiosk to order or you can place an order online on your phone. There is also seating inside for small groups. They offer a wide range of flavors for cheesecakes, roll cakes, puddings, and drinks including lattes. I decided on the coffee cream latte and the original burnt basque cheesecake. The coffee cream latte was like coffee milk. It reminded me of the Star Wars coco cereal coffee, which I absolutely love! I liked the flavor of this but added a shot of espresso from an actual coffee shop to make the flavor stronger. The cheesecake was yummy. I did really like this spot! It had such a calm, chill ambiance and the cafe I got the espresso shot from wasn't too far.

Just keep in mind that everything is ordered strictly à la carte, so you'll need to order sides separately from your mains, but every single item is well worth it. Def a reliable go-to in Palo Alto whether you're grabbing a quick coffee or settling in for weekend brunch!
