What a great little place in Mercer. I looked on internet and they had a 4 1/2 rating so decided to try them out. The chicken wings regular kind are great. I decided to try a sausage patty melt. The first bite surprised me. Best item of food out I've had in years. I like fried onions, cheese, sausage and butter. The price at $7.99 is reasonable. I like take out and they provide this as well. This place is working hard to provide a great product. The only item I've had which didn't like is their chili. read more

Atmosphere: Nice little pub and grill. No outdoor seating. They are practicing social distancing (yay) so there are maybe 15 seats total in the place right now. Bathroom was clean, and there was a sassy 90% naked man on the wall (I approve). Street parking and alleyway parking available. Service: Our bartender was a goddess, super efficient, and was taking care of the whole place by herself. She was friendly, personable and was wearing a mask. She gets a big thumbs up. (blonde, glasses, didn't catch her name sadly) Food: Great bar food. Deep fried goodness in every bite. I really recommend trying their homemade garlic ranch, it is DELICIOUS. Definitely will be taking our butts back here the next time we visit. read more

Amazing food and service!! My husband and I moved to the area a year ago and tried Around the Corner for the first time this October. We have been ordering carryout 1-2 times/week ever since. If you haven't tried the ribs, try them. They are so good and tender (fall right off the bone). We are trying different things on the menu and haven't found anything we wouldn't order again. If you love grilled onions, try the patty melt -- it's to die for. Trent, the bartender, is wonderful as are all the waitstaff. If you haven't, definitely give this place a try -- it will become one of your favorites! read more

What an epic decline. Owners got COVID lazy. Used to be one of the best. Now, all you get is marginal food served in disposable plastic or paper. Even salads come in paper trays. Old fashioneds in a plastic cup? How cheesy. No glasses no plates all cheap disposable crap. Clearly the environment is of no concern to them. Not even menus!! The write menu on the wall so no one but those seated right next to it can see it. Food is now just basic bar deep fried junk. Used to be pretty goo. Owners should be embarrassed to have orchestrated such a decline in quality, not to mention the value of the business. But then. just like the kitchen, they are always drunk when they are there anyway. So sad. save your money and standards and patronize another place that actually care. read more

Faithfully open year round we are always greeted with a smile and prompt service.whether you just want to party or need to top off your tank in gets done with north woods hospitality and quality. The nightlife is fun and welcoming. Food is consistently delicious. From fish fry to breakfast omelettes to filling lunch or dinner you can't go wrong. Bright and cheery this is a great place in a small town Update : previously a five star review. After our third disappointing trip to this previous jewel an up date is in order. In less than six months this joint has deteriorated into a place to be avoided. Dysfunctional unfriendly staff, poor food and a raucous kitchen makes this a place to avoid. This has been our favorite fish fry for 20 years. It was always worth the drive to Mercer. However, in the last year it has gone way downhill and getting worse every time we go. I can't pinpoint what it is, but we plan to try other places and hope to find a new favorite. read more

It's a pub but still comfortable to take the kids. A nice menu with lots of interesting appetizers and sandwiches. They feature pub chicken, a variety of beef sandwiches, pizza and home made soups. I had the buffalo chicken salad with grilled chicken. It was made of fresh leaf lettuce, tomato, bacon cheese, croutons and a generous amount of perfectly seasoned buffalo chicken. Very good. My husband had the pub burger 2 patties topped by has, a fried egg, lettuce, cheese, onion and tomato. He is still raving about it. One of our party loved his chicken cordon bleu sandwich and cup of cheesy cauliflower soup. The kids had typical appetizers - mini tacos, mozzarella sticks and chicken tenders. I asked some friends that I get some things from where is a go for a good fish fry they told us around the corner so we went there it is a nice little place very friendly and enjoyable service was quick they have awesome specials Friday was all you can eat fish or chicken or both for under $10. Not what it used to be. The burger was thin and obviously not fresh. The bacon was super chewy...when taking a bite it was like rubber and you could not break it off. So disgusting. I felt hurried by the wait staff to get us out of there. Waitress never checked on us to refill our drinks. Sat next to a dirty table during our entire meal. We go here every time we are up North,, sometimes several times. Never had anything bad here. The Daily soup is a must. Hash brown sticks, munchers, the burgers. If you are a big eater, you can not pass up the Pub Burger. Broasted chicken AUCE, Pizza chicken sandwich. Great breakfast!! Super waitress/bartender and cook. Wish we would have eaten there yesterday too. The pancakes were like I make at home but better, the veg skillet had steamed broccoli and well seasoned veg, and mmm sourdough toast. The coffee was good as well. We went back this weekend to try it again. We went on Friday night and the service was terrible. The bartender was very rude, and our food took forever. It was almost as if she was annoyed we ordered food. Not my choice, but our larger group returned the next night and the bartender was the waiter also. He was nicer than the previous one, but they needed help. We had to wait 20 minutes for a drink. Over an hour for food, never asked us for another drink. Food was good, but no reason for us to be there that long. Will not return. read more

Best local bar around. Was in town for the week and went quite a bit and each time we had great service and great food . We were definitely not disappointed when it came to the breakfast, it was delicious. All the bartenders were friendly and fun to be around. Late evening dinner stop with multiple children in tow. This is definitely more of a townie/locals spot. That being said, the bartender/waitress on duty was very friendly and service was impeccable! It was some kind of wings special and my hubby and eldest son ordered those. They both had the "extra spicy" sauce and it sure was! The server said it was homemade by the cook - kudos to him - it had great flavor. The rest of our party had burgers or sandwiches which were all good. Have been to the Pub many times. The service is usually ok at best food is just ok. On our last visit we were treated rudely, took at least 30 minutes for the bartender to refill our drink orders and again at least 30 minutes to give us our bill and pay. We asked for the check several times and when asked what we owed she replied "I don't know." It was a "to go" order. The really sad part is that the bar was not busy at all. Just ignored us and was too busy talking. Our food was cold by the time we got it. Really sad. Erin you need to keep an eye on what's going on.
