My mom also needed a chip in her windshield repaired. The Safelite office in Bangor coordinated with the technician, Adam, for him to come out and take care of both of us. Communication between Adam and my mom and I was very good. We were originally scheduled for the afternoon, but Adam called us to see if he could come first thing in the morning and we were more than happy to be able to do that. Adam arrived right when he said he would. He explained the process after inspecting our vehicles and then he got right to work. He was polite, knowledgeable, and efficient. Once the repair was made I was hit with a 542$ bill! I explained that I was quoted $275 all in, over the phone . To which the gentleman replied " I don't know why you were told that" and he then held the machine out for payment. I was shocked . I needed my vehicle that day and felt backed into a corner. I angrily paid the bill and left. I was under the impression auto repair shops are required to provide consumers with clear and accurate information about repair costs to ensure transparency and fairness. According to the Financial and Consumer Services Commission of New Brunswick, repair shops must provide a written estimate for repairs exceeding $100, unless you decline the estimate and instead agree on a maximum amount you are willing to pay. Which we did not. Even If I received a written estimate, the final charge should not exceed 10% above the estimated amount without my prior consent. Buyer beware.

I stopped at Dana's to see if I could get it touched up. After an inspection, I was told that yes, it was peeling and it was covered by their warranty, and when could I bring the car in? I brought it in when we arranged it. They had it for two days and when I picked it up it was not only fixed, but the car had been cleaned inside and out and polished -- it looked better than it had since the day we bought it. Cost? $0.00. Would I recommend Dana's? Just ask me.
