If I could give these guys negative five stars, I surely would…read more These guys are a commercial appliance repair that comes out to your site. Let me start by stating the definition of 'Repair' - verb - to fix or mend (a thing suffering from damage or a fault). I had these guys come out to service my coffee roaster. I had been having an issue where my pilot would not light to heat the drum up inside. Rob was confident that he could assess the issue and fix the problem. Rob and an employee came over and while they obviously have had extensive experience with burners and any other COMMON appliance, they were going blindly into my coffee roaster, while referencing a technician from the coffee roaster company over the phone. 3 costly hours later, they figured out that coffee chaff was blocking my air line. Oops, my fault. I felt pretty stupid at that point. There was NOTHING actually wrong with the roaster itself - just some chaff blocking the air hose that supplies air for the pilot to turn on. So they cleaned the hose out. Great, very appreciative. So, they close everything on the roaster back up and serve me my whopping $260 bill for cleaning chaff out of my hose. Whew, that was okay though, because, my mistake for not checking the hose myself beforehand. Then, a couple of hours after they left, I go to roast coffee and my burner is acting completely different from how it was BEFORE they had touched the roaster. Damn. I could not change the level of flame on the burner. It was stuck at high. So, I would essentially burn beans had I put beans in the roaster. Not cool. So, I did the rational thing and called Rob back to let him know the situation, pretty confused, and he said that the burner burns optimally at 'high'. Ha. So I let him know that the burner should not be stuck at 'high' and I should be able to turn it all the way to 'off' when I need to. He was pretty sure that he was right and that I knew nothing about my roaster so he said he would call the coffee roaster company to confirm that and I told him 'No. I want you to come back out and put it back the way it was BEFORE YOU TOUCHED IT.' He seemed pretty irritated and not totally willing to fix what they had broke, because, you know, I never had a problem with the way the roaster performed BEFORE THEY TOUCHED IT. He went on to say that people that have these roasters are very wealthy households or businesses and that he would insist on charging to fix what he BROKE and that he did not believe he did anything to change the state of the roaster. The next day he sent out his employee (I had to call again to make sure he was coming out). At this point I had zero trust in their ability to assess any issues with my roaster. I asked the employee 'So, you have no idea what you guys did to make the burner the way it is?' and the employee just shook his head 'no', half knowing what dingbats they are for 'appliance repair men'. I asked him a bit about the insides of the roaster since he opened it back up, and he said that they 'didn't touch anything in here.' (WHICH I LATER FIND OUT THEY CHANGED DRAMATICALLY AND WAS THE ISSUE ALL TOGETHER.) They employee stayed at our place for the next hour trying to get a call back from the coffee roaster tech. He never called. So Rob told him to leave and to come back when they could get ahold of him, as they did not want to touch my roaster now without getting exact instruction on what to do. (But wait! They were completely willing to charge me for installing something else on my roaster. As if I would have them break more on my roaster and pay more. No. Just please fix what you changed and broke.) In my experience with fixing cars, everything that I touch and change and move, I take note of so that I know what I have done to change it so that I can put it back to its original default. These guys did NOT do that in a complex environment that they were completely new to. They basically used my roaster and a dummy to learn off of without being accountable for their mistakes. I never heard from these guys after Robs employee left. I ended up communicating directly with the coffee roaster company myself and figured out that they had messed around with some screws that regulate the pressure of the propane. So I played around with it myself and fixed a problem that was NOT there BEFORE Rob-N-Son appliance 'repair' had touched it. Wow. Do NOT use these guys unless you want a 'repair' man that is NOT accountable for his mistakes. You will end up paying MORE in the end. Stay the hell away.

I would totally 100% disagree with the previous user review ! This guy is a ROCKSTAR ! I own a…read morecouple of pizza restaurants in the Bend/Redmond area and have used Rob n Sons Commercial Repair many, many times over the past dozen years...in fact, I would never take my business elsewhere because of the solid service I have received over, and over again...the prices are fair, the techs show up on time and are knowledgeable about my equipment and most importantly, Rob the owner understands how business works, and how important the equipment is to us, and is always empathetic...as it is frustrating for our crews when a key piece of machinery is down! He answers his phone day and nite, and has gotten my stores up and running, when it seemed impossible....he figures it out, makes a plan and executes! This guy and his company takes CARE of me, every time, period....I recommend him and his team 100% ! --John Chris @ Dominos
