Mmmmaple Latte! My favorite place to go in Jay when I'm in the mood for a fancy coffee (ok, ok - the ONLY place to go in Jay when you're in the mood for a fancy coffee). Right on the mountain, it's easy to ski in for a little warm-up in the morning. All the sandwiches, soups and sweets are homemade and I think that's what makes this place great. Who wants packaged food! The folks who work here are great - very friendly. I would consider 4 stars, but the Maple twists have been taken away. Ouch! This is Vermont people --- more maple = more better! Bring back the Maple Twist!

The staff is very efficient serving up Java to cold skiers.

Limited but tasty selection. Many sweet treats so if you are more into savory, your options are limited

I drive to Sutton just for their oatmeal cookies. That's not even an exaggeration. They are a small…read more"épicerie fine" and patisserie. I recommend it to everyone. If I'm going to be anywhere near the Eastern Townships, I detour to La Rumeur. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They know everything about the products they sell, and they go above and beyond to be helpful. It's also really cute! The whole space has a country store look and feel. You get the sense that you are in a family store (even if it probably isn't) where everyone takes pride in what they sell. If you are near either one of their two locations, don't miss the opportunity to grab a cookie!

They have a lot of cheese from Quebec, France and the Netherlands. In fact they have a lot from all over Europe as well. You can ask for a sample before you buy the cheese. With the cost of some of these cheeses, that only makes sense. We picked up some Quebec cheese this trip but on past trips we bought Dutch cheese. The bakery side has good food as well. We have tried their breads and croissants and would definitely buy them again. There is a case full of pies, tartes, and cakes for sale and we are tempted to bring one home. They always have someone working who is fluent in English if your French is not good.
