Came here for dinner the other night and everything was so good. Got veggie samosas and chicken wings as an appetizer, the samosas were crispy and well seasoned and were served with a terrific yogurt sauce and a sweet n spicy sauce. For The dinners we got paneer and goat tikka. Both came with nice big pieces, the ox was moist and tender and the sauce was probably the best I've ever had. All the naans we got were also amazing, crispy and doughy while being well seasoned. We finished our meal off w a nice big bowl of rice pudding and I couldn't of been happier with the whole experience all the food was wonderful and the service was impeccable. All the workers were super friendly, attentive, and made sure we had a great experience. This will be my go to from now on check it out it's worth it!!!!! read more

This was the restaurant we choose for our Valentines Day dinner, and we definitely made the right choice! A pleasant surprise awaited us - they were offering their FULL MENU this weekend instead of doing a limited prix fixe menu. (Vegans are well-accommodated here, with LOTS of veggie options available.) Our dinner was skillfully prepared, attractively presented, and seasoned to our chosen levels of spice. The Shrimp Pakora appetizer was 4 large shrimp in a light chickpea coating, crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside. Chicken Tikka came on a sizzling platter with rice and a side of makhani sauce, and was cooked to perfection. Dal Bukhara (lentils in a rich, creamy sauce) was delicious and satisfying, and the aroma of the chili garlic naan was absolute heaven. Another surprise - We were treated to a complimentary Valentines Day dessert to share! What a pleasant end to a delightful meal. The staff were just as pleasant and helpful as always, which is a big part of the reason we keep coming back. Their timings say it is open until 11:30 PM everywhere, we went there at 2:30 PM. It said open on google and yelp and on their building. As soon as we entered the waiter there said they were open until 3 PM and had only buffet and told us it was worth spending the $12. Even told us he'll get us hot roti and pakoras. Then he started hurrying us up as if the world was going to end any minute. If you are charging me $12 you let me get the full worth of it and don't try to hurry me. If its too close to your closing time just tell me you cannot serve. Why tell me you are willing to serve and then start dumping all the food on my table? Its a damned buffet. Best Indian we have found in the Atlantic City/Jersey shore area so far. Offering only take-out now. Ably cooked and spiced. Curries on the spicy side (and therefore more flavorful). If you ask for hot, you will get hot. And medium is still spicy. Ample amount. Chicken they use is dark meat. Naan not too wet or dry. Tasty vegetable samosa. Located in a converted Howard Johnson along a highway with other budget hotels. Not the greatest location but food was worth it and will order from there again. read more

Great food with even better service. We order take out and dine in frequently at Aroma (formerly Nizams II). The food tastes authentic with wide variety of flavors. This place is highly recommended. We also did my daughters 5 year birthday. We were able to rent the entire restaurant for the Saturday. The staff and owner went beyond to accommodate us. For $9.95, they serve 5 to 6 main dishes, rice, kheer (saffron, cardamom rice dessert), salads, and FRESH out of the oven Naan. The Naan is served directly to the table, unlike most buffets, where it is in a heated tray along with the other food. One of the best things about this place is that you can order take-out buffet for the same price and they give you large containers to put the food in. I love this place so much! I have a really sensitive stomach so I find myself avoiding Indian food, but the dishes at Nizams are so light and fresh I feel great when I leave. That's a really big deal to me, and then on top of that the staff are super friendly and everything looks completely new and redone. I think it's actually the cleanest restaurant I've been to, like literally it looked like you could eat off the floor they keep it so clean in there. After careful deliberation to decide where and when to go to dinner, friends and I concluded that Nizams II was the place to go. Bhajira and Samosas to start were both satisfyingly crunchy and salty. Accompanied by a yogurt sauce and tamarind (?) sauce this was an excellent choice. Washed down with sweet green tea (also amazingly refreshing too) this was a great prelude to our feast. Lamb Vindaloo (asked to be hot) was everything you'd want and expect from a dish. Great blend of spices with the flavor of cloves accented with a balance of ginger and vinegar in the gravy/marinade. The meat, not gamey at all, was fork tender as one would expect. Chicken Tandoori Murgh Banjara presented tender morsels of on the bone chicken with a gratifying char and flavor of a well executed tandoor. Served with Makhani butter was a nice touch, but I didn't need it. Chicken Makhanwala and Jahangiri Korma was exceptional and delightful in their own unique ways. Similar looking to the untrained eye, but a jackpot of flavors for the tongue. Aloo Gobi, Channa Masala, Palak Paneer and the Malai Kofta Zafarani just further justify my reasoning to become an Indian vegetarian should the need present itself. All of the dishes were exceptional and yet different from other establishments in past experiences but goes to show that the same dish can be made entirely different and still be delicious. Garlic and Sesame Naan along with fluffy basmati, the essential sides for sopping up all of the savory sauces put us just shy of a food comas. My only negative was the environment. We arrived post lunch and it was empty, as to be expected, but a bit of music would have given the atmosphere some life. Other than that, it was most enjoyable considering we had the servers undecided attention. Repeat ventures will surely take place but the Nizams II location will surely set the bar for any and all other locations. read more

Fantastic flavors. Tried their lunch buffet today. It was excellent. Every dish was on point with truly a perfect balance of spices and the preparation. No complaints whatsoever. Orderded for carry out. They said they will make vegetable jalfrezi. When I went to pick up, they said the menu does not have jalfrezi so they put navratan korma. The owner I believe assured me that it's jalfrezi. Came to the hotel. Opened the box. No jalfrezi. Some peas, beans floating in some sauce. Called the restaurant. The food here was not good. I ordered spicy dal, roti, bhel puri chat and the tandoori salmon. The salmon did not taste fresh and really had no taste. Simply incredible! It shows great love of what you do when chef on his own comes out and checks up on you closer to the end of your meal. Granted it was a bit of a late evening, an hour before closing time, and it was not too busy, yet i was asked about my impressions, and even told a brief description of the sauce used to prepare my dish and what it was originally created for. I ordered Lal Maas, with goat meat, and while it was superb, the Chef suggested i try it with lamb next time. I certainly will. The only reason i chose goat is that i almost always pick lamb and wanted to experiment a bit. Kashmiri Naan was another experiment for me. I have tried other variations that were offered before but this was new. Superbly made, crispy yet soft on the inside, with a slightly garlicky sweet aftertaste it was a good match to a mildly spicy Lal Maas. Other notes, the parking was plentiful, servers smiling and not too intrusive at all. Maybe even on a slightly relaxed side, so bring a date to chat with. If you are looking for a quick bite, try fast-food chain, but if you are looking for a culinary experience, go check out Nizam's! Can't say much for buffet (it was present) since i was there fir dinner, or if you are seeking an all you can eat setting, but the dining experience was stellar. Yes the restaurant is located inside a rather dated hotel, but they did a great job making it look right. I forgot i was at a hotel 10 minutes into the evening. We ordered 2 chicken appetizer (Drums of Heaven, and Murgh Malai Kebab) and 1 vegetarian appetizer (Mongolian Crispies). This was beyond my expectations. The Murgh Malia Kebabs were probably one the best I have had in Jersey. Mongolian Crispies was a great dish for vegetarian. If you are trying to go vegetarian, you won't miss meat eating this! For dinner we ordered 2 chicken dish (Lababdar And Jahangiri Korma), 1 vegetarian dish (Kumb Matter),Chilli Garlic Naan, and Chicken biryani. You can actually taste the flavors of each dish. The flavored naan compliment the flavors of the gravy dishes. The Lababdar was my favorite! And to top is all off, we ended with the most scrumptious Orange Kulfi! This place is just lovely. The service is outstanding and the staff is so friendly. A couple dishes I personally recommend: gobhi manchurian, dahi puri, bhindi masala, sesame naan, and the gulab jamun. My family also raved about the chicken tikka masala and the chicken saag. There are TONS of vegetarian options. And for those who keep a vegan diet, several options that can be made vegan upon request, which is wonderful and truly appreciated. There are also plenty of dishes that aren't vegetarian as well! ;) I honestly can't recommend this place enough. I will be returning for sure; I'm excited to try the lunch buffet. read more
