This place is good for that but is great for the young guys that are truly making a go at a career in the sport. The young thirsty guys add to energy and vibe of this place. Instructors are extremely knowledgeable, patient, and above all supportive. Makes me smile thinking about the instructors walking around during sparring with direction and positive energy and feedback. This place has been open for a while and has been producing champions and professional grade martial artists. My guess is that many more champions will be born here over the years and that this place will receive more and more recognition globally as an MMA institution that produces the best out there! This man does not know how to treat kids, he didn't yell at my kid, but he yelled at one child like he was an adult, I was so embarrassed for him. When the lessons started, the instructor didn't seem to understand the teachings. At one point he had my son spar with a kid twice his size, my son was kicked in the privates and the instructor didn't even care. he never once mentioned wearing a cup. This was my sons first time trying kickboxing and we are both turned off due to a lousy instructor. I would never bring my child to a place this unprofessional, I don't see how he is still in business.

I…read morehad a blast at the 2 sessions I attended - Tuesday at 11 am (New Year's day) and Saturday at 10 am. The Workout: On my first day there, Josh (one of the owners) led the class. Upon meeting him, he was very personable and welcoming. He explained how everything worked and how to punch the bag. It was nice having him check in with me during the class since sometimes I did not hear his instruction and needed that one on one attention. The owners made me feel very welcomed from the moment I stepped foot into the gym. On my second day, Tyler (the other owner) led the session. Both instructors/owners did an equally good job of encouraging everyone to participate and not making anyone feel ostracized for going at a slower pace than the rest of the group. The Venue: The gym is small but it holds a lot of people. It is also very clean and has a reasonable amount of parking available outside. The Cost: The membership at this time is very reasonable. Right now it is $14/week with the special they are running. If you refer people and they join, you get an even larger discount on your membership. To me that's worth it for the awesome workout you get. You also get bands to wrap your hands, gloves, and a water bottle when you join. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a kickboxing class in the Colony. SIDENOTE: If they ever decide to allow those interested to pay per class, I would definitely come every Saturday since I live too far away from the Colony to make it during the week :-(*tear* OR If they ever open up another location nearer to my work or home, I would definitely be interested in joining long term.

I signed up for a class here on ClassPass and was also treated rudely for no reason, I guess now I realize it's because I am a woman? This instructor here is a clown and so up his own ass he should teach contortionist lessons. He wouldn't teach me at all and was totally dismissive, he literally told me to go find someone else in class so he could sit off into space on the side in silence. Last time I checked my money was the same as anyone else, if your studio only wants to accept men/professionals, etc then make that clear on the website or class description instead of wasting everyone's time. The tagline on google says "Saekson Janjira Muay Thai is located in the heart of North Dallas, bringing the most authentic Muay Thai to Texas. Classes for kids, adults and fighters." maybe put an asterisk there and say "no women or beginners" mmkay?

I was trash talked by the coach leading the sessions and hit hard several times after I already said "I am no longer interested in sparring with you" At no time did I physically exert myself beyond a point of control during my time here yet the coach leading the class decides to call me out before I even warmed up, (told him I was warming up because I came to my FIRST session about 30 mins late.). As you can see I barely set foot into the gym floor before he approached me. I told him I was there to spar a friend and he got very offended, called me out to spar before I even had a chance to get my helmet on. After I hit him with some quick light jabs after which he lost all control. Mind you this man is approximately 40 lbs larger than me. Below are public links displaying his behavior. Please stay away from this gym and this coach, he has no control over himself. The part I feel the worst about is invited my friend and his 5 year old son to the gym.
