If you're road tripping anywhere near Porter, stop here. This is one of those places you read about…read morein "best hidden road trip stops" articles and it actually lives up to it. The Peach Barn is packed with specialty jars, fresh baked goods, and things you didn't know you needed. The pickles? The best I've ever had. So good I came home and ordered more of them on Amazon from the Amish Wedding company because I refused to run out. Grab more than one jar. Trust me. I also tried the salad dressings and baked goods and everything tasted fresh and high quality. The shop isn't huge but there is enough room for everyone shopping and plenty of nice staff around. Pro tip: sample what you can and buy more than you think you need. I under bought and regretted it immediately. This is a stock up every time you travel kind of stop.

They had so many peach themed things and Whole Foods that were grown locally. I genuinely love handmade and all natural food. They also had a menu and tables and chair so you could eat there as well. I felt like I was on a farm and I loved it! The service was also great! I was asked if needed help looking for anything! If I am ever passing through the small town of Porter, OK, I will definitely be stopping by again! Thank you PEACH BARN!

*** Review is during COVID-19 ***…read more Livesay Orchards may be more well known for their peaches (Porter is the peach capital of Oklahoma, after all!) but that's not all they do - I had lots of fun picking apples there! They were doing a good job staying on top of Covid precautions. Masks were worn by all employees and were also required for visitors (especially in any inside places). They had us wash our hands before being taken to the apple trees. We had to read/ listen to them go through a short agreement and then sign it (some things involving the pandemic and some not). Socially distancing was encouraged both inside and outside. There are definitely enough trees/ rows of trees to have space to yourself. While we were there, they had two apple varieties ready to pick: red and golden delicious. Now, I'm not a fan of red delicious apples so I was a bit disappointed at first to hear that these were one of only two varieties available (I especially felt that they should promote what varieties they have, & when, a little more). Luckily, once we got to the trees, we could see that they weren't necessarily the same small, waxy-skinned, bitter red delicious apples we're used to seeing in stores. I actually thought they resembled more of a gala, fuji, or pink lady apple (a few were a deeper rosy/ mauve-y red, some were almost a peach color, and others were that mix of a light red and green color). Needless to say I was glad that they didn't seem to be the red delicious apples I think of them as. We only filled one bucket, which for us was plenty! For reference, we made two batches of apple turnovers, one apple pie, stovetop cinnamon apples, and still have some left over!!! The one bucket was about $30, and as you can see, we got plenty of use out of that (not to mention the fun of the activity itself of getting to pick your own apples). I only wish I knew more about what to look for to pick a "good apple", because a few of them ended up being kind of soft, and I like them to be nice and crisp if I'm just eating an apple as-is. The good news is we used most of them for baking purposes anyway, so it didn't really matter that some were already a bit on the softer side. I'd go back, if not another time this year (they also have a pumpkin patch and hay ride in the fall), then next year, or even for other seasons of the year -- I probably need to try the peaches during the spring/summer season at some point!

Everything is artfully arranged and I wanted to buy many of their goods. I ended up walking out with some infused olive oil and some fancy salt. I started with a plain latte which was spot on! I also had a smoothie bowl (the blue beachy one). I got the small and it was good. I would probably add some more fruit next time. The other side of Queen City is a large room with tables for meetings and studying plus some comfy chairs and couches for lounging. Some colleagues and I met here for about two hours. Perfect spot. Others around our table tried specialty coffees, the avocado toast and the PBJ. That PBJ looked delicious. The avo toasts were topped with everything spices. Really chill space. I got a new summer drink, the Sunset, to take on the road. Very good. The only down side of the entire visit might have been the music but remember we were there for two hours. Some might find it relaxing. If I lived here, I would make this a daily stop.

I was greeted immediately upon entering and shown around! The 2 ladies working had tons of great suggestions for teas, and they have them in jars to look at and smell. I got a punch card that with 5 teas purchased, I can 10% off my next purchase! I picked up several things to put together a little gift/prize for an event I'm having, so I'm excited to share something local with others. It's veteran owned, and the customer service is top notch. This year's market has had quite the variety from Fungi to Freeze-Dried,from Handpies, Honey, to Veggies, and Fruit and stuff in between. There have been some great demonstrations this year as well by the OSU Extension and chance to talk to local master gardeners as well. Today, my husband and I stopped by, and I found a new tea to try and a couple of new Freeze-Dried goodies for my snack cabinet. The tea is a detox tea(which will come in handy), and the freeze-dried goodies were a cotton candy and watermelon freeze-dried taffy. I am glad my husband thought to go to it last night though. It was one of the most quite and calm grocery stores we have been to in a very long time. But we were there to see what this location was like, since we had not been in it, and to check out the pricing. Like I said before, I am glad he thought to go in. We really enjoyed the calmness. We did not feel like we were being rushed through, like at some other grocers, we have gone to. The cashier we had at checkout was very nice, she made our experience in checkout very smooth. It made for a great experience overall. We did manage to pick up a little dinner selection yesterday evening on our trip(After running an errand, we came home and had a couple pulled pork sandwiches from the deli that we picked up,after adding some extra sauce and a little reheat, they were just yummy. That's impressive because many places have no idea how to make good sushi.
