If you're road tripping anywhere near Porter, stop here. This is one of those places you read about…read morein "best hidden road trip stops" articles and it actually lives up to it. The Peach Barn is packed with specialty jars, fresh baked goods, and things you didn't know you needed. The pickles? The best I've ever had. So good I came home and ordered more of them on Amazon from the Amish Wedding company because I refused to run out. Grab more than one jar. Trust me. I also tried the salad dressings and baked goods and everything tasted fresh and high quality. The shop isn't huge but there is enough room for everyone shopping and plenty of nice staff around. Pro tip: sample what you can and buy more than you think you need. I under bought and regretted it immediately. This is a stock up every time you travel kind of stop.

They had so many peach themed things and Whole Foods that were grown locally. I genuinely love handmade and all natural food. They also had a menu and tables and chair so you could eat there as well. I felt like I was on a farm and I loved it! The service was also great! I was asked if needed help looking for anything! If I am ever passing through the small town of Porter, OK, I will definitely be stopping by again! Thank you PEACH BARN!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! We ordered a cake for my sister's very special Sweet 16 Birthday party this…read morepast weekend. We provided a picture of a cake that we wanted to mimic as well as the colors we needed the cake, pink, white, and black as the party was a pink, white, and black party. The picture we provided used these same colors as well. We asked that the cake not look like a child's cake; that it have two tiers with the top of the cake left blank for our own topper; that one tier be chocolate and the other white. When my brother and sister picked up the cake, it was pink and royal blue! with big puffy flowers (the cake we asked for had black strips, white polka dots, and black swirls on different tiers). There was a plastic crown smooshed into the cake that a two or three year old child would wear to play dress up. It had three tiers instead of the requested two, which would have been nice had it not been added on simply because neither of the bottom two layers were chocolate. This top tier was *covered* with multiple decorations. On top of that the cake was "painted." Instead of having pink icing all the way through, there was white icing with pink spray on the top. This became very evident when our cake BEGAN TO FALL APART while it was sitting on the table waiting for the birthday girl to arrive!!! The top tier sank into the second tier and the front of the second tier just fell off onto the table!!! When we called the shop to explain what was happening with the cake, no one answered, so we left a message. This was on the 19th. We didn't get a response until the 22nd telling us to bring back the unused cake for a portion of our money back. We explained that the party had been primarily cake and ice cream, so we had to serve the cake. There was nothing else we could do by that time. Guests were beginning to arrive. The cake was served. The next response we got from the Little Cake Company after we explained that the cake had to be served: "Do what you gotta do. Do not contact me again." Close to $100 was spent on this cake. One would expect to spend this amount of money on a custom, specialty cake. One would not expect to spend that much money on a cake that is not made to order and falls apart before the party begins. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Someone else let The Little Cake Company owner know of the unhappy customer. This was the cake lady's response.... I am appalled by Cake Lady's attitude and threatening tone and am therefore telling everyone i can think of what kind of horrible service my friend received. I am SSSSSSSOOOOOOOOO tired of business owners NOT caring about customer service... Everything below is the email sent by the owner of the Little Cake Co. gee, if you were going to pretend to be someone else, you should have AT LEAST changed your cadence of speech. i forwarded this letter to the facebook abuse team, as well as yahoo. if you feel you are so right, woman up and take me to small claims court, and stop these jr high antics. you might want to go to you tube first...look up judge judy wedding cake, and see what the law really says. i'm sorry you couldn't get a pink cake box cake in muskogee...i never claimed to be at their skill level...they are the best...and most expensive cake in the country. as far as the cake falling apart...i have no way of knowing how you teens handled it....stacked cakes are fragile. now, i don't want to ever hear from you again....unless it is at court. BTW....i turn down 10plus cake orders a week...been doing business here almost a decade....sorry but this won't hurt me....if anything it will help keep other scammers away. this is the last you will i will say about this.....unless i have to do something about all this harrassment....and know, that i will do something if pushed. good day

Miranda's Cake House - Some of the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had along with the very unique Hocus Pocus latte

Also picture after picture of delightful pastries: scones, artistically decorated cupcakes, cinnamon rolls and amazing cakes. It looked so good that we made a drive to Wagoner, just to give Miranda's Cake Café a try. It turned out to be a miserable mess. The only thing good about this café is the coffee and the very nice lady that was working today. Possibly Miranda herself. I ordered a Mocha and my wife had a dry cappuccino. Both drinks good. Only get coffee here, nothing else. The pastry case was almost empty. A couple of muffins, Danish and cookies, that's all. Not much to choose from. My wife settled on the Danish which was fair. I ordered the double biscuits and gravy. It was disgusting. A room temperature, tasteless bowl of cat food was what I was served. Check the picture. I think most restaurants would be ashamed to set that mess in front of a customer and then charge them $8 for it. When checking out the nice lady asked me "how was the food?" I just smiled and said fine. My morning was ruined, no sense ruining hers too. This visit to Miranda's Cake Café was a failure. Extremely disappointed.

The single biscuit and gravy was one of the best I've ever had, and huge and insanely inexpensive to boot! Miranda was so lovely and friendly and she talked me into trying her own latte concoction - the Hocus Pocus. It was an admittedly strange combination of (if I remember correctly!) butterscotch, raspberry, and hazelnut but it was an absolute taste sensation. She makes all of her own syrups in house too, which is pretty amazing. The space is huge and has some cute jewelry, shirts, and other crafty items for sale. Definitely worth a stop off route 69!
