It looked so good that we made a drive to Wagoner, just to give Miranda's Cake Café a try. It turned out to be a miserable mess. The only thing good about this café is the coffee and the very nice lady that was working today. Possibly Miranda herself. I ordered a Mocha and my wife had a dry cappuccino. Both drinks good. Only get coffee here, nothing else. The pastry case was almost empty. A couple of muffins, Danish and cookies, that's all. Not much to choose from. My wife settled on the Danish which was fair. I ordered the double biscuits and gravy. It was disgusting. A room temperature, tasteless bowl of cat food was what I was served. Check the picture. I think most restaurants would be ashamed to set that mess in front of a customer and then charge them $8 for it. When checking out the nice lady asked me "how was the food?" I just smiled and said fine. My morning was ruined, no sense ruining hers too. This visit to Miranda's Cake Café was a failure. Extremely disappointed.

He told me my order was $2.53 and that there was a minimum charge of $5.00 when using a card. He asked if I wanted to add something else to make $5.00 and I said no, not really. So I handed the donuts back to him and said I'Il pass. This is the first time something like this has happened to me when using a card. Normally it is just a 3% or a little more up charge when using a card (if that is even charged), which would have been fine, but to have to spend $2.47 more just to use a card, no thank you! This is 2026 and if an establishment can't be up with the times, I'll move on to the next. Other donut shops have no problem with this, so that is what I did, I moved on to the next and got my 2 donuts just like I wanted and paid with the card...... Hopefully this is not just a ploy to sell more. This is one of the best ways to get to know your growers and where your products come from. My husband and I go each Saturday during farmer's market season, and I challenge myself to only spend $20 to see what I can come up with for a meal for the two of us, or maybe find some self care items that can help us in our everyday life. This year's market has had quite the variety from Fungi to Freeze-Dried,from Handpies, Honey, to Veggies, and Fruit and stuff in between. There have been some great demonstrations this year as well by the OSU Extension and chance to talk to local master gardeners as well. Today, my husband and I stopped by, and I found a new tea to try and a couple of new Freeze-Dried goodies for my snack cabinet. The tea is a detox tea(which will come in handy), and the freeze-dried goodies were a cotton candy and watermelon freeze-dried taffy. Get out and explore your farmer's market, you never know what you will find each week.
