DO NOT hire this company or anyone they are affiliated with North American movers to move your home . They promised me that someone would call the day before the move to let me know what time they plan to arrive. That never happened. Dave the snake oil salesman promised me that they would disassemble my furniture no problem because they hire expert furniture people to disassemble & reassemble furniture. However, after all my furniture was removed from my home, they told me I would need to pay an additional $420 to have my armoire reassembled in my new home. My contract states that the move would take between 3 - 7 days. On day 8, not only did I not receive my furniture & belongings, but it was Saturday and the offices are closed and I have no one to talk to or get answers from. I called & texted Dave but he never returned any of my calls or messages. I spoke with someone at First Class movers who were hired to unload the truck at my new home, and they said they would look into it, but they too never called back. If this is the way North American & Arnoff treats their customers, I would think twice about hiring them to do a move. I wish I knew sooner, but I thought with 100 years in the moving business they would be a reputable company to do business with, boy was I wrong. read more

Unhappy Customer - Very disappointed with this service. I moved from out of region (Indiana to West Point) but wanted to use a local company. During in the process of the move my wardrobe boxes that contained all of my clothes were somehow lost. I contacted Arnoff and was was told to file a claim. The claim then went through a claim agency and a lowball settlement amount was offered. In researching the next steps to appeal the settlement I discovered it would have only prolonged the time and cost me more money. I would have my claim sent to an arbitrator and that would have wanted receipts for my clothing items. Who has receipts for all the items in their closet? It's a racket designed to protect the moving companies. I sent numerous emails and did receive one from one of the Arnoff family members however it was just lip service in the end. I reluctantly accepted the settlement offer which was substantially below any numerical value to replace my entire closet. I sent a final email asking them to give the service one would expect from a local company and the human touch but never heard back. They came highly recommended and I have shared my story with other friends and voiced me frustrations. I can say that I will advise anyone moving to the area to use another company. read more

Very poor experience from start to end. I found some of my tools thrown in the garbage can while they were packing my garage. Items had to be left behind because they ran out of room. Numerous items were damaged during the moving process. I saw packers standing on several dressers as they were loading the truck. Boxes were crushed, furniture was damaged and 2 tv's were broken. The storage unit they placed the items in was crazy. They packed boxes, totes and furniture 10 feet high. Lots of damage and now a denial to take responsibility even after buying the extra insurance. This was a $17,000 move....Just terrible!!! Their reply is a typical denial of responsibility. The implication that I damaged my property is ridiculous. You've taken the path of plausible deniability, rather than let's look at this situation. While your team was throwing my property in the storage unit no inspection for damage was conducted. Due to the incredibly hot weather in July in South Carolina, my wife sat in her car in the 95+ degree heat while your movers haphazardly stacked and damaged my property. She was not aware that each item had to be inspected, and quite frankly the moving team wasn't going to allow her to inspect each item in the intense heat. I advise everyone to stay clear of this company. If you do choose to use them the insurance is worthless. To show how careless they are, I received a Yogibo beanbag chair that isn't mine. I'm sure it came from another load on the truck and it's owner is upset. But I'll bet you denied their claim too.... read more

I hired them for a move from NY to TN and once they had my money my rep stopped answering messages, they didn't deliver what they promised, and when I asked them to call me regarding damaged items they simply sent me an online claim form. Not the type of customer service I expect when I pay a company over $20k for a service. Avoid this company and find someone else. read more

The most horrific delivery to our home, ever, in 25 years. We ordered a custom couch that took 6 months to receive. Arnoff is the contracted delivery for this company. We offered Arnoff 3 locations to deliver inside a standard bi-level home. Each location lead driver insisted he could not get the couch in. This was the most deliberate form of misogyny I've witnessed. They broke our large wooden privacy deck gate that is estimated to be $2000- worth of damage per two fencing estimates. Arnoff left our new leather couch on our deck with 3 foot legs off, that should have been attached to the couch, on the ground and left, in mid December! Yes, they did and I've got pictures of everything. 3 months later we are still waiting for communication pertaining to insurance status to repair the damage. I've sent 2 emails and one voice mail. Nothing but silence from Arnoff Movers. The contact is to be a Arnoff employee named Jackie Johnson. We've heard nothing but silence from Jackie and Arnoff. Disgraceful actions by Arnoff Moving and Storage. Shame to this company and any individual who supports this type of treatment to paying customers. read more

Blown off by Arnoff. I ordered two vanities (double sinks) from Wayfair/Perigold, with white glove delivery. The local company to perform delivery was Arnoff. One of the vanities was carried into our house, but not unboxed. The other was deposited in our driveway, and the delivery people refused to do anything more. (After going to the hardware store to buy a couple of dollies, we managed with some difficulty to get it into the house.) Both deliveries happened last week. On Monday of this week, I called to ask for help with moving the vanities, one of which needs to go up a flight of stairs. On Tuesday night, I got a response that they were working on it. On Thursday morning, I called again and managed to get service scheduled for Friday. On Friday, nobody ever showed up during the 4-hour window - they just skipped us in the queue, it looks like - and despite multiple calls, no one was able to help me. Now I guess I have to start again on Monday, but without much hope that anything will happen. We are not physically capable ourselves of moving such heavy furniture up a flights of stairs, or else we would do it ourselves. So frustrating to be completely blown off like this. read more

Just moved to the Hudson valley from Washington DC, and so happy I choose to use Arnoff! Our move was multi part but we are finally settled into our new house and what an amazing job Arnoff did accommodating all our needs! From the sales team down everyone was polite, friendly and helpful. The movers were extremely professional and when moved into our new home they covered all the floors and carefully placed each item in to our desired location. I was most worried about our extensive collection of dinnerware and glassware and not a single piece was broken. At the end of the day I would highly recommend Arnoff Moving and Storage!! read more

Used Arnoff twice. My daughter needed to be moved out of her housing at college without being present due to Covid. And she needed to be moved back into her new housing at the beginning of the term, again, without her being present. The Arnoff office was great. Brian and Lisa were extremely professional, polite and helpful. But the movers themselves were awful. They left a few items in the room which were my daughters, they did not wrap some of the breakable items, ruined some of the fragile items on the walls and put clothes into a box with an open jar of garlic and all the clothes smelled when unpacked. It seemed they just threw things in the boxes and did not even label the boxes themselves. I will not use them again for this reason. read more

SERIOUSLY, DON"T USE THE FOLKS! Honestly, if I could give these people 0 stars I would. Ordered a couch from Wayfair. Arnoff is the 3rd party delivery service in this area. Scheduled my delivery date on 12/9 to be delivered on 12/14. Was told someone would reach out to me on 12/13 to confirm a 4 hour window between 8 and 5 that the delivery would arrive.. This did not happen, despite me reaching out and leaving a voicemail. Tried again Saturday morning, as did Wayfair. No response. I lost my ENTIRE day on Saturday waiting for Arnoff to arrive. They did not ever reach out to me. I tried again today. No answer. But I did receive an e-mail telling me the couch would come on 12/18. Don't worry, I only have hospital responsibilities from 7AM - 9PM on Wednesday, but they couldn't be bothered to call - probably because they know they are in the wrong - and I won't be able to sign, so no delivery will occur. Also, my family comes into town Wednesday night. So now, 5 weeks after the original purchase date from Wayfair I won't have furniture for my family to enjoy. Looks like the campout in the living room in lawn chairs is continuing on. read more

Abhorrent service. My delivery was so late! Arnoff claims that they were at my residence but I sat there for 5 hours waiting. Weeks later, when they did arrive, the parolee program claimed that they don't deliver to the interior. I called Arnoff to confirm and it went right to voicemail. When the delivery people were long gone, Arnoff returned my call and said that it should have been delivered inside. To boot, they wrecked my tree when backing into the driveway. If you order custom doors from Home Depot, don't! They sub-contract Arnoff who will send you into a run-around of no answer calls, voicemails, and incompetent service. The worst! read more

Never use this company for any of your needs. It started off fine with the pickup. Guys were nice and professional. When they did the redelivery they were also nice but the hardware was not there for my kitchen table. So the table top is just sitting on the base loose. I've contacted them several times to finally here a week later that the customer service rep was working with the claims department to resolve. Over two weeks later I still heard nothing. When I contact them again, I now have to work with claims myself. The tabletop has fallen off twice almost injuring people sitting there. Arnoff, doesn't care. We chose Arnoff to move from a one bedroom to a two bedroom apartment, three buildings down, in the same complex. Upon arrival the forman cursed at the workers to "stop f***ing around", infront of myself and our one year old daughter. My boyfriend immediately took us to our new apartment because he didn't want us to be around them, after this first impression. The move seemed to be going smooth until the workers brought our babies crib with a huge crack, that split the wood, on the base of the crib. The forman told me that the worker should have stopped turning the screw, but didn't, causing him to split the wood in two. He told us that it shouldn't affect the crib at all. However, they left the crib in pieces on the floor, unassembled, with tape around the split wood because it couldn't be put back together again. It is a combination crib and changing table, that needs all parts in able to properly stand and balance. Because of their neglect and carelessness, our baby was left without a place to sleep at night. They also chipped the paint and left marks all over the crib. We also have two side tables and a coffee table with removable tempered glass built into the tops, that we paid arnoff to move. The workers told my boyfriend that he would have to transport the glass parts because they were afraid to break it. I'll let you decide if you can trust a moving company that is hesitant to transport tempered glass, three buildings down, in fear of breaking them. We also have a queen sized bed, with drawers built in the bottom bed frame. We noticed later that night, the workers put our bed back together backwards, leaving the drawers unable to open. My boyfriend and I had to unassemble the bed in order to put it back together the correct way. This wasn't as hard as we imagined because the workers never tightened the screws in the first place, leaving the bed very unstable and dangerous had we slept on it that night. In addition, we now have scratches on our coffee table, bed frame, and dresser. My boyfriend also saw one of the workers leaving our new bathroom, without asking us which we found highly unsanitary given that we are in the middle of a global pandemic. We immediately called arnoff to discuss our experience and were never offered an apology and were just told we could file a claim. I filed the claim for our now unusable $450 crib, with proof of pictures as well as proof of value We recieved a check, over a month later, for $57. The letter stated that Arnoff's basic insurance policy only covered $0.60 per items pound. Maybe it was my fault for trusting a company that has served customers since 1924, to be able to move furniture three building down, and relying on their basic insurance. We contacted Arnoff after we recieved the letter and were told that there was no one we could talk to directly and that we could only email claims again. Once again, we were never even issued an apology and their lack or care and compassion about their quality of service was evident. We are now out a $450 crib, as well as scratches in our furniture, for us to remember Arnoff by. Unfortunately, I could not recommend Arnoff, at any extent, for your moving needs. Can you imagine Arnoff's quality of work if they had to move further than three building away? read more

Terrible experience. Arnoff packed our belongings from our house in CT and our apartment in NYC when we moved to Europe. The CT belongings were in storage for a while before shipping. When our belongings arrived in Europe we are really shocked to see how badly packed many of the items were. Our shipping was handled by Ranieros in the US and their European partners at this end so nobody really accepted responsibility. However, we hold Arnoff responsible for most of the damage because the items were so badly packed. Two identical mid-century chairs arrived - one perfectly packed and the other with paper thrown round it and taped together. Needless to say, this chair arrived broken completely in half. Three large expensive ceramics (each costing around $600-800) were packed with ONE sheet of paper around them and placed in a box. All three arrived in pieces. These damages (along with plenty more) were a direct result of the packing. Clearly, it depends on which Arnoff employee is doing the packing: some of the packing was great and the items arrived intact, others were shoddily and carelessly thrown into boxes. Their slogan is 'Let our family move your family'. I wouldn't let this family near my stuff - it's not worth the risk. read more

On 1/31 at approximately 2:55pm, a tractor trailer owned by Arnoff Moving was driving on I-87 around the exit 8 area (White Plains area I believe). I was traveling 62mph (speed limit is 55) when the truck began tailgating me and flashing its lights. There was a car not too far in front of me, so I was confused why the truck driver was flashing the lights. The truck driver proceeded to move to the left lane, speed ahead, did not signal but began merging into my lane even though my car was directly to the right of the truck. This led him to driving in between two lanes for some distance (again with my car directly to his right) because he was trying to cut me off and didn't have the space to merge correctly because there was a car already (closely) in front of me. I began honking my horn repeatedly, which he ignored. I was able to shift to the right lane luckily because there were no cars next to me. Before this event occurred, I noted the truck had been driving on I-95 in the center lane and, once again, did not signal to change lanes and at the very last minute he took exit 21, which leads to I-87. I don't know what kind of people Arnoff Moving employs, but they obviously need to sit in additional driving classes. An accident could've happened because that driver wanted to drive like a deranged animal. Last time I checked I-87 is a highway and not a NASCAR race track. read more

I got in touch with Dave Erichson at Arnoff and he took it from there. When the crate arrived 5 days later, I got a chance to see how professionally it was packed for shipment. Super job !! The crew was terrific. Foreman overweight - sketchy guy. I bought them breakfast, lunch etc. had mapped everything out so knew where things were going l. No need to move again & again. Get to the end of move. Tip crew well - 60 pp. not foreman bc he didn't deserve. Told me it was 930 more than quite bc much more stuff. Absolutely not! Spoke to mgr & he made it right. But honestly don't trust this company. A new neighbor just moved in next door & had same experience but told 1500 more. These guys are sketchy & not to be trusted. This is a family owned and operated business that moves everything from personal possessions to the most sensitive and highest technology equipment. Unfortunately this company has the contract with Wayfair to deliver larger items. I ordered a new sofa that was supposed to be delivered yesterday between the hours of 6:00 am and 6:00 pm. I never received a confirmation with my 4 hour window, and after taking the day off from work and leaving 4 voice messages to find out the status...the day came and went with no delivery. I DID however, get an email from this company close to 5:00 pm stating that my delivery would be rescheduled for the next day between 12:00 and 4:00....WITHOUT speaking to me to find out if this would be possible! Really?? I wonder how many deliveries this company attempts and finds no one home!! I elevated the issue with Wayfair directly and the customer service Rep at Wayfair has also had no luck in actually getting a live person, or a call back in regards to communicating that I ACTUALLY WORK and won't be home to receive today's delivery. Unfortunately I love Wayfair but unless they contract with another delivery company in my area, it will mean the end of large purchases for me! (Death by association!) As I type this, I am busy at work while my sofa is on a truck apparently being delivered to my home...with no one there. DO NOT HIRE this company for any reason....very unprofessional and terrible systems or should I say, non systems in place. read more

The salesman who came out to quote us was very knowledgeable and helpful. The quote we received was less than a competitive quote by about 10%. They came on time, did a good job packing and getting everything loaded on their truck. Everything was delivered on time, unloaded, and some items assembled. Nothing was damaged. Don't use Arnoff!!! My parents had furniture moved from NY to Florida. We thought it was great that the driver was in the Area on a Sunday and was able to deliver. The driver asked my father if he knew the cost because it's really hard to get a hold of the office on a Sunday. My dad said he was told 2,800. You could only pay by cash or cashiers check. I was there when my dad paid him the money. My dad called them and asked them for the final bill and it said 1,800. The driver wrote a 2 over my dad's copy but not the original copy. The driver pocketed $1,000. read more

We packed and moved with Arnoff Poughkeepsie May 2019. Everything went as smoothly as can be expected on a big downsize and out-of-state move. Unfortunately, we were unaware that a single kitchen box was missing from our possession until everything was finally unpacked months later. This box contained an expensive Breville mixer along with some other kitchen items. They were nice enough on the telephone and said to put in a claim. 4 weeks later we were told that since we signed a receipt after the boxes were unloaded that we had no claim. At the time I did not think the moving crew was willing to wait around while we unpacked over 300 boxes, stacked floor to ceiling in every room, to check for missing and broken items. AND THEY KNOW THIS! BEWARE!! If you move with Arnoff DON'T sign anything after they've moved your things in. Very disreputable company. I even knew the owner from where I had worked at the time. Thought the usual nightmare moving stories wouldn't happen. read more

This is the worst company. They are rude and aggressive. The people that work in there lot are andry and unhelpful. One of the men in the lot pushed up against me while I was holding a baby. Good thing we have it on video. Our highly valuable equipment was wrapped in cellophane and other stuff had was partially covered with bubble wrap. The monetary damages are high and we were emotially upset after dealing with them as well. I'm sure it will be a struggle to file a claim as well. I'd suggest any other company. read more

Arnoff Moving and Storage initially charged me $768 to move my friend's reproducing piano out of storage and into my house. Five men, very nice and polite, moved the body of the piano in, and then discovered that there were no screws to put on the legs and pedals. My friend (the piano's owner) had put the piano and a dining room set in storage together, eight years ago. One of Arnoff's employees separated the screws from the piano, and put them in a drawer of the dining room set. When she took the dining room set out of storage, she did not know that the screws were there, nor what they were, until I called her when the piano was moved. The moving crew told me that there would be no extra charge for them to return and complete installation of the piano, but, the management decided that I would be charged an additional $182.00 for the crew to return to finish the job. I feel that this is very unfair, and bad business practice. They have already gotten a ton of money for storing the piano for eight years, and $768.00 from me for the original move. I certainly will not be dealing with them again after my piano is completely reassembled. read more

Worst customer service!! During a long distance move to NC, delivery of my belongings wound up being delayed 5 days longer than what my driver had told me. When I questioned why the delay happened (since I had to sleep on an air mattress for 5 days), I was first told these things happen, then my customer service rep stopped returning my calls. When I finally managed to get management on the phone, they apologized and promised to see what they could do, but then also stopped returning my phone calls. I eventually got my belongings, and I am happy to report everything was in one piece. But I have to say I have never experienced such poor customer service. If being treated like a human being is important to you, then this is not the company you want to do business with. read more
