My experience was so terrible. They searched for $$$ at every opportunity they had. Basic less awful example was charging me for storage for 3 months after my items left their storage facility. Oh and the suprise additional charge for "stairs" even though i sent them the hight, width and number of stairs to navigate prior - AND my friends helped move the boxes. It took them over 6 months to deliver my items to europe from the US. And honestly it would have been cheaper for me to book a seat on a plane for each box. We hired Arnoff for moving and storage. They lost half of a $25,000 custom bed and refuse to reimburse us. We moved from New York to Florida in the summer of 2023. As part of our move, we left several items (20+) in storage in their New York facility, because we needed some of these items for our New York City apartment. We pay monthly for these items to be stored. In September 2024, I reached out to Arnoff to ask to see an inventory of my items in storage because I needed some of them moved to the NYC apartment. Arnoff sent me an inventory and all of the photos with it. The main item that I needed out of storage was a bed. This is a $25,000 custom bed. When they sent me the photos and prepared to move it to the NYC apartment for me, they alerted me that half the bed was missing. They had the headboard but not the frame of the bed. Arnoff was very confused and surprised - how could half a bed just go missing? They searched their warehouses but could not find the base of the bed. I explained to Arnoff that we have paid them over $40,000 for moving and storage services. If they were in my shoes, they also would want their valuable items to be taken care of. I asked Arnoff to take responsibility for the missing half bed and to reimburse us. Of course, Arnoff has refused. They claim that when we did our original move in summer 2023, we signed a bill that inventoried our furniture, so they are off the hook. They also asked us to submit a statement to an insurance company they work with - but of course we just received an immediate denial with no way of contacting any one. I explained to Arnoff that just because we signed a work bill in summer of 2023, it doesn't take them off the hook for losing our bed. We left many items in storage after the summer of 2023 and continue to pay for that storage. They very well know that they have our furniture there and sent me 20 photographs of our furniture in September 2024, including the bed. The only problem is that they lost the bed frame. I understand that mistakes can happen despite everyone's best intentions, but I feel it is Arnoff's responsibility to make me whole for the bed that they lost. They have been impossible to work with. They truly do not care about taking care of their client's items! They will not take responsibility and will hang you out to dry if they mess up and lose or break something of value. read more

I am appalled at the amount and extent of destruction that Arnoff Moving and Storage, ostensibly a professional moving company, managed to do to my belongings. I never dreamed that a company who's business it is to handle furniture would be capable of taking my dining room set, which has been in my family for generations, and shear off legs, actually break off pieces, and then expect that $90.00 would be adequate compensation for their carelessness and ineptitude. It was my mistake not to buy additional insurance, but foolishly, I thought that a moving company that had been in the business for so long would actually be able to move me from Malta to Saratoga Springs without doing too much damage. I was so very wrong. As you can see from the photos, Arnoff not only broke the table and the chairs, but also light fixtures and ceramic pieces. According to their contract, they only needed to reimburse me for this damage as if my precious household items were cargo at 60 cents a pound. Arnoff is a terrible company that does not care about their clients. I paid them over $20k for a move and once they had my money, my rep stopped responding to my messages. They did not deliver what they promised and many items were damaged due to Arnoff not using experienced staff (they hired kids with no moving experience). I was given a date and 4 hour window for my furniture delivery, but the driver "ran out of service time" and never called or showed up. I had to call the company myself to ask where my shipment was, and they informed me they couldn't deliver until 2 days after my original date. At the time of my call, they could not give me a 4 hour window or even a guarantee they would actually complete the delivery. Things happen, but there was no effort to fix their own mistake - and I still don't have my furniture. read more

I have repeatedly had horrible experience with Arnoff. its not jsut about making the mistakes it's how they are handled (not handled!) and the terrible customer service. it's a different answer every time you call. you try to nicely explain frustration and it's like talking to a wall. then when they finally fix it they have zero communication. they just show up. no call nothing. Add me to the list of dissatified customers. Arnhoff did a long haul with NorthAmerican and the results were poor. Additionally, when we made claims about broken equipment and missing boxes the comapnies and insurance company denied any liability. By the way, the Arnhoff agent stongly suggested we get full coverage - so to the folks who debate insurance- read the contract. read more

I ordered something off of Wayfair and for some reason I was unfortunate enough to be stuck with Arnoff to have to deliver my package. The first day they rescheduled hours before the delivery time was set up, which was weeks in advance. The second time I was told they would notify me 30 minutes prior to the driver arriving. I sent them a message stating what time I was available and would be at the house, with no response or contact to confirm. The day of the delivery I was not notified and out at the time the delivery driver got to the house. When the driver got to my house he called saying he was there. I told him to leave the package outside. After explaining to him multiple times because he was not fluent in English, he finally told me I needed to sign for it. I was not told in advance I needed to sign for it and now they are telling me to reschedule again. I tried to contact them and they did not answer and put me on hold with no response. I had to bump my review a star because after dealing with Liberty Moving & Storage in Commack, NY I realized that Arnoff was honest and fair. I was quoted a price and that price came in very close to the estimate. Liberty on the other hand was about $950.00 off. I believe that is what you call a guestimate. On 1/31 at approximately 2:55pm, a tractor trailer owned by Arnoff Moving was driving on I-87 around the exit 8 area (White Plains area I believe). I was traveling 62mph (speed limit is 55) when the truck began tailgating me and flashing its lights. There was a car not too far in front of me, so I was confused why the truck driver was flashing the lights. The truck driver proceeded to move to the left lane, speed ahead, did not signal but began merging into my lane even though my car was directly to the right of the truck. This led him to driving in between two lanes for some distance (again with my car directly to his right) because he was trying to cut me off and didn't have the space to merge correctly because there was a car already (closely) in front of me. I began honking my horn repeatedly, which he ignored. I was able to shift to the right lane luckily because there were no cars next to me. Before this event occurred, I noted the truck had been driving on I-95 in the center lane and, once again, did not signal to change lanes and at the very last minute he took exit 21, which leads to I-87. I don't know what kind of people Arnoff Moving employs, but they obviously need to sit in additional driving classes. An accident could've happened because that driver wanted to drive like a deranged animal. Last time I checked I-87 is a highway and not a NASCAR race track. read more

My Experience with Arnoff Moving is indirect as they were hired to deliver a new 3 piece set of furniture through Boscov's with all payment and details being handled via the store. Most of my contact has come directly with Boscov's and they have been fine, however it's been Arnoff's lack of communication when needed that is prompting this review and my opinion. I was given a call on Wednesday prior to a Thursday delivery with a window of 12pm - 4PM and I'd receive a call 1/2 hour prior to arrival. This all seemed fair enough and even allowed me to run a few small errands close to my home. 4pm came and went, no call, no furniture so I called the store. The sales rep said she'd call Arnoff's and try and figure out what was going on,s he tried calling for over an hour and said she couldn't get in touch with anyone. by this time it was about 6pm and a truck just showed up at my place, no warning call no we are running late just showed up very late. I get delivery times are estimates but over shooting a 4 hour window by 2 hours and not even letting people know they are drastically behind is not how I'd conduct business. The guys brought in the furniture and removed the old as promised as well as installed the legs on the couch, chair and ottoman. They then collected the packaging and were gone. When I left my house shortly there after I found all of the plastic, cardboard and strapping that came with the couch thrown at the foot of my steps and not taken with them. As I was collecting the garbage to dispose of, I found a part of the couch that they decided didn't need to be installed and was just in the heap of trash. Finally in addition to the trash, they also left paper work for myself and another customer on a clipboard which had been forgotten. When I contacted them about the clipboard, no one ever called or emailed me to setup a time to retrieve the information but instead just showed up on a random Monday, of course I'm at work so that was a no go. With the lack of communication i have received on a fairly small job I couldn't imagine recommending them for a large job. read more

These guys are the best! I Hired Arnoff for a relocation from Atlanta, GA to Saratoga Springs, NY. These guys took all the stress out of moving. Showed up on time in Atlanta, were extremely professional and loaded the entire one bedroom apartment in a few hours. Arrived in Saratoga Springs in about one week (ahead of quoted time-frame) and total bill ended up being LOWER than their quote due to lower weight than anticipated. No damage to any of my stuff! I have had a great experience and would recommend Arnoff to anybody. read more

We initially contacted Arnoff on June 1st for a move on August 2nd. We were moving from DC to Chicago. Shame on us for not running from this company at the first warning signs. To begin with, our "relocation specialist" left the company midway through the planning process and we were not notified or told of this development. We had to reach out to another party to discover this kind of important information. Then our contract was somehow sent to the wrong email address multiple times - it took nearly two weeks of calling and emailing for this error to be rectified. Lastly, on July 29th, four days before our scheduled 700 mile move, we received the following email from Arnoff: "I have just been advised that we have an unusual situation where there is the possibility of what we call a "service failure" which is when NorthAmerican Van Lines is unable to pick up a shipment due to overwhelming volume. We are working with them on this but we thought we would contact you as soon as we heard of this. We are checking on the possibility of getting a local agent to go out to pick this up and hold it at their warehouse until NorthAmerican can send a driver in for your shipment. We will keep you advised." An email on Friday afternoon telling us that our move might not be completed. No call, no followup, just an email. I called Arnoff immediately to find out more details, spoke to someone for about 5 minutes and never heard back from them again. Luckily, we used the 3 hours left in the work week graciously afforded to us to find different, reliable and more professional movers. Avoid this company at all costs. read more

We just finished our first move using professionals, as we, and all our friends, have aged. It had been nearly 20 years since our last move was paid for with pizza & beer. We could not have asked for a better experience. They were prompt (actually 15 minutes early), courteous, and super careful with our belongings both on removal and delivery with our under-sized doorways. They prepped and wrapped virtually everything. Upon arrival at our new place, all was put in place and unwrapped and reassembled, if necessary. Can't say enough about our experience.l read more

I received a call day before from the consultant, was told would probably be a waste of time and they couldnt get to me until July. I advised I needed to move for June, and was flexible. I was told to "hope" for a cancellation and availability. That is not something you want to hear when you are planning to move. I would have understood if I was told initially that June was booked, or at least some discussion on selecting an alternate date. Instead I was told to hope, and was given the impression the rep didnt even really want to come out. I scheduled a short distance move with Arnoff one month in advance. Yesterday, a week before the move, the manager called to say that they had to postpone the move a couple of weeks. I could not change my date. That was why I scheduled a month in advance and kept in contact with the move coordinator regarding the time and date. Since I could not switch days, Arnoff canceled on me! When I called the move coordinator, she did not even know of this cancellation!! There were no apologies from Arnoff and no suggestions of another moving company. DO NOT use this company. They might cancel on YOU, too!! read more

The company (working with North American Van Lines) showed absolute disregard for the client well being. We were given a loading date of September 24 2013. On Sep 23, less than 24 h before the load we received a phone call from an Arnoff employee letting us know that there is no truck available to move our goods and they'll need to go to storage. Previously we were assured that the goods will not go to storage and the delivery might be possible on Sep 28. The employee pretended that she just received a phone call from North American about the truck issue. We spent a few hours with the North American Van Line dispatchers until we found out the truth: that in fact the employee knew a week prior to loading (on Sep 17) that the truck will not be available. On Sep 23 I went to Arnoff headquarters to talk to them and after 1 hour the employee finally admitted that it's her fault that she didn't notice us. Strangely she charged our credit card first and only then she noticed us about the truck unavailability. Arnoff/North American didn't make any effort to accommodate our schedule and they showed an utter disregard for our schedule or for anything they promised. Loading the goods the next day was a disappointment in the sense that some of the workers were on 'on the job training' and not very skilled in packing and moving goods (they didn't know how to correctly pack a Sony 32'' flat screen TV !!!). We were advised that the goods will be delivered within the 3-11 days window as per quote, probably on the 11 day. After a few days and many phone calls to the company (where the employee carefully avoided my wife's calls) we received news that the shipment will be delivered 2 days later than anticipated because of another truck issues. Trying to talk to Arnoff upper management was fruitless since nobody was available. North American wasn't helpful either. I asked the employee via emails twice to send me the weight ticket for our goods and she didn't. I asked the driver to ask her and he did with the same result. That person was totally uncooperative and acted like she was fed up with us. On Oct 01 we received news that the goods will be loaded and delivered to us on Friday Oct 04 2013. They were delivered via an old and decrepit truck with a leaking radiator and bold tires, the driver (an Allied driver) told us that he volunteered for the delivery. He was a nice person. On Arnoff web site they have 45 glowing reviews !!!!!! I don't know where they are coming from but our experience showed the opposite. I had three different companies come to do an estimate so I could get the lowest price and the best service. The gentleman from Arnoff was the only one that looked at everything I had to move and explained the entire process. He was very polite, courteous and wanted to be sure they would meet my needs before giving me a very detailed billing list because the estimate they give is actually the bill so there are no hidden costs, fees or surprises. The men who showed up to move me were very professional. They wrapped everything, nothing was broken and they did it so fast. Without reservation, I would highly recommend Arnoff to anyone looking for a moving company. From start to finish they made this move less stressful for me. the sales man who sat down with us in our home to explain everything and give us a quote was wonderful. Friendly and very educational. However, that all became useless when everything he had said turned out to be completely untrue. Our biggest gripe is that he told us 5-7 days for delivery. We even called back to make sure he didn't mean business days. He said he did not. We scheduled our move around this. We arrived at our new home 10 hours away, 5 days from pickup. Our stuff did not arrive until exactly 2 weeks from pickup and that was only because we complained so much they said they would make sure it arrived a day before it otherwise would have. Gee thanks. Also funny enough we were never allowed to speak to a manager or even the original sales guy once our stuff was picked up.
