Went in on a Thursday afternoon looking fo catnip plant. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by a friendly staff that ask me what I'm looking for today. I told her my need and she points out where I can find it. When I took the plant to the cashier, the cashier asked me what I plan to use it for and whether it's for a cat. I answered, yes. Then she went on telling me how some of her cat likes it dry and some of it like it the way it is. Since it was my first time using catnip for the cat I ask whether she knows at what age is suitable to feed it and how much to water, how often, and how to harvest . She was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. It's been almost two weeks and the catnip is healthy and growing very well. Can't wait to come here again for my next plant. read more

Always very knowledgeable and helpful! My favorite place for all my garden needs... . I get lost and can spend all day there!

I was very disappointed. I have been there several times to admire the large selection and made purchases and also attended the gardening classes on the weekends. I have a new project and needed advice on what to plant in a large planter that will have lots of sun. Without naming names, I basically got the runaround and neither employee wanted to help. One of the employees told me to ask the cashier because she was the designer and could help me make a better choice. I went up to her and she laughed and said she's not a designer and said she was busy and but pointed in a direction where I could look on my own. I ended up leaving because I really needed some of one's advice in order not to make a wasteful or wrong purchase. I guess I'll go to a different nursery that has time to help the customer with their project and purchase. read more

July 7/2023 Today my husband and I were greeted so warmly by Sarifina! I came to Armstrong nursery looking for " air plant fertilizer " Sales associate Sarifina was so pleasant, sweet, patient, and so so extremely helpful. Sarifina helped me so much! I learned a lot from her! I can not thank her enough. She is amazing and so full of knowledge.! Because of Sarifina I will be a returning customer, for all my gardening needs. WOW did she help me choose the right prayer plant for a beginner, who had a green thumb growing up, and it died as an adult lol . Sarifina showed us what plants are easy to grow, not very fussy. I choose a ( Maranta Prayer Plant Red ) Gorgeous leaves. I just love air plants. 1) They are pet safe!‍‍‍ 2) I just love prayer plants!. Beautiful. Thank you Sarifina for helping me choose the right prayer plant , and for the air plant food. After coming home, I saw a perfect place for that funny grass looking air plant. I look forward to seeing you soon. Plenty of parking, handicapped parking right at the entrance. The outside gardens are absolutely gorgeous, and all the plants look so healthy, water fountains, benches. Inside is stunning, cool, spacious, well designed and organized! I love how easy it is to find soil, fertilizer, air plants, prayer plants, ferns, so many indoor plants to choose from. If you are unsure, ask an associate, they are happy to help. Writing this review mainly based on Reina! She is a GEM. I wanted to do a small landscaping project and she happened to be there the day I went in. She guided me through the process and helped me to determine what would be best for my needs. I ended up exploring the landscape design service they have and we're still working through that but I was able to do a special order on a few plants I already knew I wanted. Reina helped me arrange installation and I love driving up to our new landscaping. I can't wait to work on the backyard once it warms up some. read more

Armstrong hires friendly, knowledgeable professionals who know their plants. I go there for healthy plants (of which they have a guarantee), planting advice and ladybugs. They also have seeds and praying mantis pods for you to attach to a plant and wait for the days to get longer for them to hatch. read more

We dropped by to look for some pots. They had a pretty large selection here for colors, material, and sizes. Some pots were a bit pricey, but some were on clearance and super affordable! They had a lot of trees, flowers, and indoor plants as well. All the plants looked great, and nothing was yellowing or dying. I found some plants fairly priced and some a bit overpriced. We saw some water fountains for sale too, which was pretty cool. They had their own parking lot with plenty of parking. I saw a few people walking their little dogs around too! read more

I love going to this Armstrong Garden Center. All the employees are so helpful in guiding you and answering any questions you have in regards to your personal garden. They always give you great suggestions and never make you feel like you're bothering them with endless questions like other big name stores do. Drove out to Long Beach to get our citrus tree. I thought we were gonna purchase one and we ended up purchasing four. Mayer lemon oranges tangerines or something else I don't remember. Great service the staff is really knowledgeable and has shared so much information with us. We were glad we were there even though we drove along it was totally worth it. read more

My husband and I have been looking for a bird bath for a while now and were lucky to stop by the Armstrong Gardens Center in Glendora last Sunday. All I can say is...WOW! We arrived early (they open at 8:00 am!) and received the personal service that one can only dream of! Joshua and Rachel were there to help us and spared no effort to show us the options available. With Joshua's help, we found the perfect bird bath in the outside display. Not only was it crafted with a beautiful glazed ceramic bowl, the extra sturdy base is going to keep it securely in place wherever we place it in our yard! On another note, it's hard to beat the beauty of this Armstrong Gardens location. The Glendora store is an explosion of color and the variety of plants they have is well planned and organized. It is such a pleasurable experience to walk through Glendora's aisles upon aisles of flowers. This store has everything! The customer service provided by Joshua and Rachel was wonderful and they were able to answer any questions we had. We can't wait to come back in a couple of weeks to pick up our small special order of spring plants as soon as they are available from the grower. Love this place! read more

This location has a variety of plants, pots, and gardening maintenance items, baskets and a few fountains as well. Everything here is lovely and atmosphere is tranquil. Plants are well kept and healthy. Very friendly group of employees here, if you need help finding a specific indoor/outdoor plant, the staff make themselves accessible for questions and help..Big difference from other garden nurseries I have been too. My wife was a green hands, she loved gardening so much. Armstrong Garden Centers was one of her favorite location of all nursery places. We lived about 2 miles away from the Armstrong at Glendora Village, I even ran pass it every morning. This armstrong has so many plants/flowers from very cheap price to expensive. The various options are so good. The staffs there are welcome and kindly and willingly to answer the question. It has different seasonal/holiday special, strongly recommend to have a visit even you don't have your own garden. read more

I recently received a grant from the city and needed guidance on purchasing plants for my yard. I purchased a "personal shopper" gift card and had an appointment with Tom. Tom sat with me and we talked about the waterwise plants, planting locations, and about putting new plants in the dirt without me killing them lol He was the most helpful person I have talked to in my adventure of doing my own waterwise front yard. I would highly recommend this personal shopper service they offer. t Tom, you are the best! Thank you again. My yard looks great and nothing has died... yet lol A few weeks later, I signed up for a free potting class with an optional make & take. The manager (sorry forgot his name) taught the class because Tom was out and it proved to be yet another great experience. He answered all our questions (including mine about my tree looking iffy) and was friendly and knowledgeable about everything green & growing. He even offered to bring in our pictures, plants, and/or issues we are having with them. Again 10/10 would recommend this store. read more

This review has been a long time coming about our Armstrong Nursery in Glendora. In 2018 I purchased three Cyclamen plants which at the time were in 4 inch pots. To this day the Cyclamens are still as beautiful as they ever where. I'm going to include photos of them because they're starting to bloom again. One of my Cyclamen's somehow ended up with a gladiola bulb in the pot and every year when it blooms even though the gladiola bulb is supposed to be solid white when it blooms, it comes in white with two red hearts off the center. I highly recommend Armstrong Nursery in Glendora for the quality plants they sell. Thank you Armstrong for my my beautiful Cyclamens. read more

I think this might be the main store, as it's huge and has all things a gardener needs to keep up the backyard. The reason to come here is that it's so near to the Donut Man shop on Route 66. Well our mission was originally to go to Donut Man, but the lines were so long, we made a detour to Armstrong's Garden Center to but some potting soil for my Dragon Fruit I'm trying to grow. I used to go to this Armstrong nursery all the time. Over the last few years I have found their employees to not be very pleasant. I love Armstrong any given day. Quality plants (at slightly higher prices) but they're hearty and not doused in pesticide like at Home Depot or Lowes. Good sized local nursery with a vast selection of roses in particular. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Purchased a Rose Shield for the mildrew on my roses per suggestion of an employee, bucket of Marathon grass seeds, and organic fertilizer. I live walking distance to this place and come here periodically for all our gardening needs. It is no surprise that many of their items may appear a bit more expensive than Home Depot, however the reason why I still purchase plants here is the difference in quality and the attention to details of the plants. Each worker at Armstrong really takes pride in what they do and will gladly take their time to educate you on the best plants for their garden. Since my wife is a regular, she feels like home at Armstrong because of the family/mom and pop feel of this location. I actually own a huge pond and had struggled to find water plants and bog plants, fortunately Armstrong delivers a plethora of variety of them during spring and summer. Home Depot or Lowe's do not even carry these exotic plants. Be sure to be a member so that you can earn points and rewards. There are lifetime warranties on the majority of plants and most weekends they have events and classes for the public :) read more

Interesting. I had left a review about our huge disappointment at this location and I even got a reply from the store But since When can they remove bad reviews on Yelp?? Once again people should know that this location is a joke and super unfriendly. Zero We were about to buy huge outdoor planter vases and possible fountains their but only several minutes in we were shocked by their unfriendliness and awful service that we left right away. In these times (2021) I think business were lucky to get customers and should be more mindful how to approach and speak to their customers. Maybe in the meantime they have realizes this. This is our local Armstrong's and I always enjoy my trips to the nursery. It does get busy so try to find out the best hours to shop if you need extra help or a large purchase. Sometimes they can special order items as well and keep receipts for items with a guarantee. I've never had bad customer service here & if I need help I ask for it. The only bit of criticism I have is that we had their landscaping services (we spent money on this) come out to help re-landscape our property. The portion that Armstrong's provided was the schematics however they sent out an independent landscaper to bid the cost for the job. He was a nice man but the labor was very overpriced and we were able to get the job done for half the labor price elsewhere. All in all this is a decent nursery and they have good variety. read more

Employees don't know anything or care to go look to give you accurate information about the products on their shelves they stock. Waste of time, drove their for something they said they had when they didn't, it's easier for them to look to see if they have it than have me drive there and waste my time and gas to see that it's not. read more

I had a cock-a-mamie idea that I would come here, buy a bunch of succulents and a pot, some soil, and make my own potted succulent garden. I was inspired by the recent Los Angeles Succulent & Cactus Show I attended at the L.A. Arboretum. Well, when I added up what this would cost, it was crazy-expensive. 5.99 for each tiny little plant, then 25-45.00 a pot, then the soil, the rocks, FUGETABOUTIT! Luckily, they had a ready-made tiny succulent garden in a pretty little ceramic pot for 25.00, not too bad, so I took it home. There were only 2 of these available. Hmmm. I took off a couple stars, because they have absolutely no literature in the form of pamphlets, or those stick-thingies in the pot, to tell you how to care for these lovely living things they sell. I think they should have something like that available to the customer. I love plants, but I have a brown thumb, so for me to take home this beautiful specimen of nature and not be confident caring for it, is, well, terrifying. Also, the mature lady who often works the register can come off as unfriendly. A simple "Hi, Welcome to Armstrong" would be nice.The younger guy is wonderful, I hope his good attitude will inspire her to be more approachable. read more
