I have TWICE had the opportunity to work with Dr. Galligan and his support staff - both of my…read moreankles have now been successfully replaced. Not only is he a BRILLIANT surgeon but he actually CARES about the well-being of his patients. Prior to surgery, Dr. Galligan clearly explained the procedure, providing models and even drawing diagrams for me to better understand. He patiently explained the ct-scans, using words I understood. His "right-hand," Nurse Samantha, was on top of everything - from personally scheduling every appointment to providing hospital phone numbers for needed paperwork. She was even able to request a temporary handicapped driving permit for me. Sam was cheerful, organized, flexible, and always available - she gave us the number straight to her desk. Dr. Galligan visited with us before surgery, patiently reassuring me and answering my last-minute questions. And, then he visited after the surgery (when I had mental clarity again) to explain how the procedure had gone. He wanted me physically, mentally and emotionally ready before having me dismissed from the hospital to begin recuperating at home. My recovery timelines were realistic, and their expectations of me were reasonable. No boot - just a big, well-padded calf bandage. The joint was weight-bearing right out of surgery, so I could attend to my own toileting. I HAD to keep my ankle elevated 24-7 for two weeks. He said healing the surgical cut on top of my ankle would be the most challenging part of the recovery process, so I followed his instructions, to a tee. I also received Physical Therapy to regain my ankle strength and range of motion. I just followed their instructions - simple. Also, just as importantly, Dr. Galligan and his support staff were CONSISTENTLY POSITIVE and reassuring. I could not have asked for -nor did I ever imagine I would be gifted- such a professional and empathetic TEAM!

I came to Dr. Duncan for Functional Medicine because I was struggling with severe anxiety that was…read morelimiting my ability to truly enjoy my life. I also had about 50 pounds to lose, but what I appreciated most was that Dr. Duncan did not just look at one symptom. She looked at my whole body, my lifestyle, my stress, my nutrition, my gut health, and what was actually going on underneath the surface. The program was a four-month commitment, and I really appreciated that it was one cost to work with her during that time. I never felt like I was being left to figure things out alone. If something needed to be adjusted, Dr. Duncan adjusted it. If I needed more support for my GI tract, she provided what I needed at no additional cost. When my supplements needed to be tweaked, she exchanged them and helped guide me through the changes, at no cost to me. She also added lifestyle tools and activities to support my healing without charging me extra. What other doctor would do that?! Dr. Duncan went above and beyond what any other practitioner has ever done for me. When things felt hard or overwhelming, all I had to do was reach out, and she would walk me through what I needed help with. She was patient, supportive, and truly invested in helping me succeed. I also liked that we had regularly scheduled check-in times. But I could text, call or meet with her personally for any additional care I needed any time! One of the biggest turning points for me was learning how to follow an anti-inflammatory diet. Dr. Duncan even invited me to her home to help me better understand the dietary changes and learn how to food prep. I was there for over 3 hours. She answered all my questions and showed me that taking better care of myself was possible. That level of care meant so much to me. Implementing the anti-inflammatory diet changed everything. My brain fog is gone. The tendonitis in my shoulder and elbow is gone. I lost 50 pounds, and weight loss was not even the main reason I came to see her. The weight just fell off! I have more clarity, more confidence, and I feel like I finally understand how to support my body instead of just chasing symptoms. This program works, but you have to work the program. This is not a fad experience or a quick fix. It is a true lifestyle change, and it can change your life for the better if you are willing to do your part. If you are ready to do the work and want a doctor who will guide you, support you, and look at your health as a whole, I highly recommend Dr. Kate Duncan as a Functional Medicine provider. Oh, and she has an amazing podcast too! You can find it anywhere you stream music for FREE! She really is a blessing to our community!

I went to see Dr. Kate to deal with Functional Medicine. She had me do a saliva test and came back…read morewith a bunch of supplements to take. I explained on the first visit that I am hypo thyroid and have dry mouth due to having Burning Mouth Syndrome. She came up with a bunch of supplements and when I started taking them - they messed up my thyroid and caused my mouth to be more dry which in turn caused my burning mouth to get worse. She had me bring back most of the supplements that I have paid over $3,000. for and then she came up with a diet plan that was impossible for me to follow and then wanted to charge me more. I was never reimbursed for the supplements I returned and so in part I ended up with nothing but a big whole in my pocket where she took the money. She might be good in the chiropractor end of it but wouldn't recommend her as a Functional Medicine person.
