Each day that passes, living in New York City becomes more and more complicated. Circumstances and…read morefinancial departments attempt to entrap us and take our hard-earned money as speed limits are ridiculously reduced, cyclists are fined between $190 and $1000 for making non-threatening turns on a red light and undemocratically distributed property taxes soar. In the midst of all these observations, the rodent population is exploding exponentially in great part thanks to a construction boom which results in the displacement of middle class and indigent persons who move from places such as Alphabet City where closely knit communities were fostered throughout decades. It is easy to lose a sense of humanity in the dog-eat-dog environment of local politics and a literal rat race. Fortunately there are still companies like Gateway Pest Management who are expertly run by supportive professionals with the uplifting capacity to be empathetic. The enlightening process begins when you speak to a wonderful individual by the name of Madeline who conveniently works with your schedule to ensure comprehensive inspections can be done so all parties feel comfortable. Then, enters Jay who is one of the loveliest and courteous human beings you will meet. His inspection is top notch and he welcomes all the questions you may have about causes and solutions intended to be long term. In my case, I was advised to realize some plumbing repairs to address entry points and then he would be able to address primary as well as secondary points for the purposes of rodent proofing. Yes- rodent proofing. This is to say, anybody can put poison but the placement may be counterproductive given you need to know where the evidence including trail /grease marks leads. I should know as I placed a highly rated peanut butter poison purchased online which then provided incentives for mice to form a nest in my sofa coach which created a devastating hygiene issue. The couch had to be thrown away. Suffice to say the Internet may not be the best source of information or inspiration. Nobody takes the time to realize an inspection like Jay and his team are well renowned for. Further, Jay has an encyclopedic knowledge of the habits, dietary and hoarding patterns of pests as well as the psychology of such critters. He understands the multifaceted and multi-sensorial needs of the objects of the extermination. Today I was prepared to begin the actual extermination process and was galvanized at how caring and hard-working Jay was. Not that I expected any less. He couldn't have been nicer with my elderly parents and used materials that were much more effective than others proposed. I had other estimates but knew I would use Jay and his team the minute I met him. Leaving exposed holes while you place bait is a nightmare in the works. Going with Gateway you will be pleased and sleep tranquilly. The price is also extremely reasonable. And- as if all these blessings were not enough- you also get a guarantee. I should also mention that all this time Jay always went out of his way to look for the best possible problem given the multifaceted issue I had given how old the residence is. While he never makes promises he cannot keep given his impeccable integrity, he knows where to get the answer from and never imposes his wisdom upon you. When Jay speaks, my family listens. The content of the message and the manner it is delivered commands respect and admiration. To say I highly recommend Gateway Pest Management is an understatement.

I keep my house spotless so i was really upset when i learned we had a mouse problem. I reached out to Prestige and they were able to have a service man out the next morning. They told me the appointment was between 9 and 11 and that the technician would call me a half hour before he arrives. At 915 i receive the phone call he said he would be here in 30 min. As soon as he gets here he asked me about our problem i showed him where we were seeing droppings. He went to every room in our house and sealed the holes by our radiator pipes. He was very thorough with his treatment. In our boiler room he found some holes in the floor he said this is where the mice were entering the home he sealed it up and set traps up. He said he would be back for a follow up treatment in 2 weeks. When he came back for the follow up he went though every room again to inspect for any new holes and re baited those bait stations. On the follow up he removed 5 mice that the traps had caught in the basement. I was shocked that we had such a huge problem. Its been 2 months now and we haven't had an issue with those dirty mice. We took the monthly service so that he can make sure they never return. So far they have always been on time and treats my home like it was his. If you need an exterminator i recommend trying them. You wont be disappointed.

Don talked my husband through some steps we could take to try and plug any holes and fix the issue on our own if we wanted to but after finding a few more bugs we decided to make an appointment to have professionals help. Lauren stopped by, did a thorough check of our whole apartment, and ended up calling in someone else to bring additional materials to help ensure our problems were solved. Both she and her husband (it's a family business!) did a great job explaining what they were doing, what they were using, and answer any questions we had. The traps they leave behind and poison they use are childproof and pet safe, and also placed in ways to limit chances of small kids or pets to even get to them. Their fee was incredibly reasonable, they're communicative, and I finally feel like I can sleep a little easier. They'll be coming back to check-in in a few weeks to make sure there are no new signs of anything and discuss any next steps as needed but we are feeling optimistic and taken care of by friendly, reasonable professionals. Very much recommend them!
