Customer service is poor in regards to their warranty with battery and parts. It's obvious that they only want you to send them more money.

With Finish Line, you can put in your size on a certain item (say, a pair of Nike Shox) and the website will tell you if the two locations you've selected (e.g., Oaks Mall and Paddock Mall) have these shoes in your size. Champs has nothing like this and their whole website is a disorganized warran of rabbit holes that would make Alice in Wonderland confused out of her head. At least the people who work at the Champs at the Oaks Mall are overall very nice. They do carry G-Shock watches but have a low selection of these (Belk has a much better selection). Champs has just really gone down it seems since moving their location from where Cold Water Creek is now down to across from Sears. Foot Locker, which Champs owns, also downscaled and moved last year to another location in the mall. Could it be that Finish Line's superior selection has hurt these stores? I mean, seriously, if your bread and butter is athletic shoes aimed at mainly a casual customer instead of serious athletes, you need the newest and sickest styles in all the time. Beyond Finish Line and now Jimmy Jazz, we've got places like Covert in Orlando and Renown in Tampa so the competition is high.

There is such a large variety for colors and lots of sizes available. I ended up getting hiking boots and base layers to keep me warm during my trip. This store is definitely on the pricier side but the quality of the items I bought are unmatched. The workers made sure I had everything I needed and were very responsive to me needing changing rooms or different sizes of boots.

I have visited twice so far while charging my Tesla after visiting Shands. I love how conveniently located it is, and I have been happy with my purchases. I respect and appreciate REI Gainesville's attention to safety including requiring people to wear face masks plus enforcing distancing and providing hand sanitizer. I think it's unfair that the negative reviews are people complaining about safety protocols. My experiences have been great. I was a little disappointed in the lack of selection in the cycling gear department, but overall there is excellent merchandise with very helpful sales associates. The quality of REI merchandise is high, and it is priced based on the quality. If you want cheap, I suggest going to a discount store where your gear will not last as long. My last visit I was especially impressed with the sales associate who checked me out. I don't shop much in person these days due to having leukemia, but the protocols were exceptional and I felt safe there. I will definitely return, and I highly recommend shopping at REI Gainesville!
