As an older female making the decision to purchase and take the class for concealed carry, was not a light one. These guys are absolutely fantastic. Matt set me up with my pistol and organized our class. Chris Nelson, our instructor is first class. Knows his stuff. Extremely professional. Good all round experience and now to their range. Thank you. read more

stopped in there to look for a few things, they were really busy and didn't interact with any employees during my visit. They do have a large selection of new and used firearms. And also offer and indoor range, for a reasonable price.Being that it was so busy didnt get a chance to snap photos during this visit.Planning on going down again soon. read more

I just took my CCL Class HG 102 on May 14th and I lucked out and was the only student in the class. Great Class great chance to get all my questions asked and I learned many new things which was great. Chris Nelson was the instructor and was very helpful and taught me a couple new tricks on the range when shooting which greatly improved my shot. I love this place and travel from Ocala to shoot here. Purchased my new handgun here a few weeks back. A must stop if you need to freshen up your shooting skills, just want to shoot or buy a new gun or trade one in, they do it all. I'll be back soon. Darren read more

Clueless about the law. Harry Beckwith will make up things that are not the law and lie to you about what the law is. They are absolutely clueless and should never be trusted with the purchase of or transfer of any firearm. read more

Friendly guys. Clean shop and range. Chill atmosphere. Free beverages for customers. Indoor range is A/C'd, 10 lanes, relaxed during the week and busy during the weekend. No steel case ammo. Bring your own eyes and ears, gun, ammo, and it's just under $14 for an hour of range time and a paper target. They also sell a wide variety of guns and ammo. read more

*!!! GO HERE !!!* for ALL your gun needs. The people working here aren't just providing a service, but an experience with their knowledge, suggestions, and incredibly friendly hospitality. (EVERY dealer within a 300 mile radius treats you like you're bothering them when you step in their door.) BUT here, they roll out the red carpet and welcome you in. I can't say enough about Harry Beckwith and the team working there. NEXT LEVEL. If I could give 10stars, I would. read more

Went in to purchase my first handgun. It was a Bersa Thunder 380 plus. Staff was very friendly. Picked up my gun five days later and that's when I was told they don't have the ammo and haven't for 6 months. Would have liked to know that before hand. Also, when I got home and my husband, who is experienced, looked at the gun, he noticed it was used. It was filthy inside and the clip has extreme worn inside and out. I feel I was definitely taken advantage of. They knew I was inexperienced and I trusted their website that they would be fair and honest. read more

Great prices and very knowledgeable staff who are always willing to answer your question and give their advise when asked for

Been going here for just over a year now, I was a brand new shooter when we first went here. Have taken several classes and have joined the A Girl and A Gun chapter that meets here each month. A family owned and run business with guns, accessories and a range to try before you buy or to just go and practice with your firearm or even a rental from them. Prices are very reasonable and staff is knowledgeable and personable. Give them a visit. read more

I enjoyed the $15 rental special about a week ago at Harry Beckwith's. I picked up both a Glock 23 and a CZ P07 in 40 SW for a quick downrange comparison while my wife and kids were at the mall. The staff was friendly enough, and while the range itself is an older structure, the equipment works and you can send your target to the 7 yard mark or further. That's all that really matters, right? Well, ventilation matters too and I felt like there was enough circulation. I think 15 bucks is a fair price to throw some FMJ downrange and get your hands on some pistols you haven't shot yet. Eyes, ears, and target included. I also like that they give women's clubs some kind of deal, from what I heard. There was a group of women of all ages in a group shooting while I was there. It was clear they were very conscious of gun safety and range rules. But, there was a Range-Know-It-All who immediately started hassling me when I came back to the counter to swap out pistols. He told me me about my improper grip on the CZ (that I've never handled before). I was intentionally adjusting my grip just to get a feel for it. He wouldn't shut up, and he pulled out a picture his on his smart phone to show me how great his groups are on a paper target. It appeared that he's a regular there (I sure hope he wasn't staff) as the staff seemed know him. At one point the guy even walked up behind the counter and started making small talk with the gentleman cleaning rental firearms. I would say they may want to consider a strategy to distract the know-it-all when people are standing talking to a rep behind the counter. This interaction would be an unfortunate encounter for new folks already uncomfortable with guns and "the culture." I guess everyone has an opinion. This was mine. Pew Pew read more

Came in a couple days ago with my buddy to just look around; we've never been. Ended up leaving with a new glock 19 and a custom holster that they make on site. Great experience and I'll for sure be coming here first when I need anything else. read more

Stopped in this place to see what they would give me for a pistol I had sitting around. The guy behind the counter looked as though I was bothering him by being there, then proceeded to insult me by telling me that my pistol was filthy ( I'ts unfired, how can this be?) and that the case was full of dirt. He made it sound like I dredged this pistol up from the bottom of a lake somewhere. Then gave me a real lowball offer of $200 for a pistol I know they'd sell for $500.( And acted as though I inconvenienced him by him having to do that much.) I got a higher offer from a pawn shop, minus the insults. I would have been a first time customer but after being insulted and made to feel like I was bothering them by simply walking in the door, I will take my business elsewhere. Talking about how labor intensive it is to vacuum a case out that doesn't even need vacuumed? Buddy you have bigger problems if running a vacuum is labor intensive. This place lacks people skills and customer service is horrid. If this is how they treat every first time customer that walks through the doors, they won't be in business very long. Can't say I've ever been treated this badly in all the places I've been to. After the guy finished insulting me, I just closed the case on the pistol, didn't say a word, and walked out never to return. I'll be sure to tell others who are looking for a place for their 2A needs all about my experience here. Side note, the guy with reddish hair, thin mustache, and bandaid on one fingertip declined to give me his name. I guess if I was going to berate a customer, I'd do the same. read more

What a happy ending. I wanted personal protection. Scared to walk in the store. Took a couple classes. Went to the range and borrowed a couple guns to practice. Guys at the counter are beyond helpful and kind. Joined a group. Now I am a confident and capable. The credit goes to Tim at the counter, and the wonderful trainers at Harry Beckwith Guns. read more

I was not impressed after reading glowing reviews of this place.. I went in with the intention of adding a new gun to my collection and walked out empty handed. The selection was ok but nothing stellar however the prices were very reasonable. Basically they would have received one star if it weren't for the prices.. What annoyed me is the lack of service by the staff. The three or so guys manning the counters didn't look twice at me, even the dude at the rental counter who didn't have a customer. I had to say hello to break the ice, and he promptly ignored me after. Best part is they decided to help the couple with the ditzy airhead asking about layaway even though I was there first. I may be young (27) but I've been shooting since I was 12 and have remained an enthusiast since. So go ahead and put that $400 gun on layaway, the guy with a CWP and $1000 in his pocket is going elsewhere, read more

All the staff are very helpful, knowledgeable, and welcoming. They have a great indoor range. Always ready and willing to help

Great selection, knowledgeable staff, fair prices. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A much better choice for firearms than MC Surplus or many of the rip-off pawn shops in Gainesville. This is the scene of the infamous Harry Beckwith shooting in which the original owner, now deceased, used a machine gun to defend his shop from a gang of 6 armed burglars. Google it. There is an indoor pistol range adjacent to this store where one can shoot. read more

Stop to see their merchandise at the Gun show in Orlando 11-30-2019 ....not a big stand ..but ...I could say in used guns no one can match their prices and the good conditions of the firearms...the guys were friendly and willing to help.. I ended buying one 9mm; great price., later stop at the local gun range and the firearm works as expected no issues at all. read more

We heard about your shop on the radio. We took a long drive from south of ocala to your place on Wednesday. Your radio ad doesnt say you are closed on Wed. Since then I have purchase an Ar 15 and a liberty safe elsewhere. Too bad I didnt know you were not open on Wed. Maybe you should change your radio ad. read more

Kudo's to Beckwith's. I have taken 2 shooting courses there and have been very satisfied. Instructors were helpful, courteous and friendly. Was shooting recently and needed help with sights on one of my pistols. They were prompt and offered to help right away. Tech took lots of time to get things right. Was unable to field strip pistol later and went back to the store. Again, they were very helpful and despite it being busy, took the time for 3 different people to look at the pistol and got it to break down. They cleaned and lubricated the slide so it would break down easily. Declined my offer to pay them anything for the help. Also gave me information on a different pistol. Will definitely use them for all future weapon and shooting needs. Thanks for the attention and expert assistance. read more

Had a great time. Very friendly staff and very helpful. Took my girlfriend shooting for her first time and she loved it!

I enjoyed my time here at the night shooting on Tuesdays. Gun rentals and ammo a very fair priced at 10$ a handgun. The selection was high and some with laser sights. It was a pleasure to shoot with such nice people and workers. I am leaving here with a smile. read more

I've been collecting guns for a couple decades and this is the best gunshop I do business with. Their employees may not know everything, but if they don't know it, the owner does and he's always just a call away. They're good people and the combination of knowledgable staff, competetive pricing, on site gunsmith, on site range, and good service make this the first place to go when you are looking for a firearm or accessory. read more

Paradise for the gun lover and second amendment rights activist. Jack and Michelle truly run an American business here. I have always been treated with respect even though I am a newb to the world of guns, I promise there is no better in the Gainesville, Lake City, Ocala area. PLUS they have there own pistol range so you can try anything BEFORE you buy it. They have expert and former mil spec people on site and are always running specials. Highly recommend. read more
