I made the decision to drive from Live Oak down to Gainesville to purchase a Kimber 2k11 9mm…read morepistol. It's not a cheap weapon and is advertised to have a high performance trigger as it is a target model. Lawfuldefense had one in stock and I like to support local business versus order online. Everything was great until I brought the weapon home and fired it. There are problems with the trigger, bad enough to where I did not feel safe with the gun. I called the store and was told to bring it back in and we could work out store credit or something. I told them I could not ship the gun and have it shipped back because I am in the process of moving out of state. I don't have an address that's any good right now. I drove back down and brought the gun in and was then told that they could not do any sort of refund, I would have to have them send it back to Kimber and they would return it to me wherever I was, it did not matter that I didn't have an address. I was also told I would not need to return to that store, but I did not trust that process. I bought a defective item from a retailer and I expected them to handle the problems that came from the factory not me. That's the whole point of going to a local brick and mortar is the support. We argued quite a bit, I questioned why I was told one thing on the phone and another thing in person, and I ended up leaving with my new expensive paperweight. I drove a ways down the road and decided to go back and just give up the gun. I brought it back into the store again and told them go ahead and ship it back to Kimber and I'll worry about where I am and how to get it later, it's better than just losing 2,300. At this point, the story had changed and I was told that I had to physically come back to that store to retrieve the weapon after an unspecified time it would take Kimber to fix it. I finally got to talk to somebody different, the nice confused man who had been helping me all along went and got the boss. The boss ended up doing a refund, but charged me 10%. So bottom line is I drove 4 hours to pay them a $200 restock fee on a defective product. I don't call that good customer support at all.

They were courteous and ready to help us in a tight timeline. I gave my son a watch for graduation the night before the graduation ceremony but didn't fit his wrist. I called a few watch / jewelry stores in Gainesville via google search for option. The first two were a disappointment. I asked a for simple quote on being able to add 1 or 2 links to a new watch with one store wanting to charge $45 for a 5-10 min job and the other vendor would not even bother to quote. Oaks said cost will be around $20 depending on complexity but it is a new omega speedmaster and we know it is straightforward to solve. "We know he wants to wear for graduation so just come in and we will adjust it while you wait" That is exactly what they delivered and very satisfying to make it easy to do business with people who understand service and sense of urgency. They also told me the business has been in Gainesville for a long time and now you know why Thank you Oaks Jewelry!

Well the younger girl that was in there was very nice and promptly started to help me.. we got to the valuation and things were looking great I had a good find!!! Well just half way through the valuation the older manager woman came over and pretentiously asked if I was going to keep or sell the items as if I was disturbing business.. Before I could finish saying that I planned to keep them and my intent to have them melt it into a pendant with some of the stones, I got out the words "I want to keep them" before she rudely cut me off and belted that "if you're not gonna sell them you're wasting our time". Instead of admitting the intention that I had to not only pay for the valuation but a custom melt and set job I wanted for these pieces. I immediately decided on her rude behavior instead I'm gonna take my business to a jeweler who Im not "wasting their time" bottom line for the business owners. younger girl was great, but the older manager lady is not someone you should have conducting sales if you want to attract New customers and sales, She was very pretentious and flat out told me I was wasting their time. I will not conduct business and I will not recommend any one to you for this behavior any person who walks through your custom jewelers shop doors with genuine fine jewelry should never be treated so rudely as you may never know who they really are, and what they are there for...
