I went to the Armadillo on Sunday May 13th for the brunch with my wife and mom on mothers day. I was so disgusted by the food that we all were only able to eat a small amount of it. The eggs were dried out, the bacon was burnt, and a lot of other terrible items. There was also no labels on any of the food items to identify what anything was. The brunch is normally 11.00 and we were not told or anywhere stating that the price was 16.95 for the Mothers day meal. So were surprised when we got the bill and it was a lot higher than expected. I don't mind paying a higher price for a great meal but this was one meal that I never would have bought if I knew how the quality was going to be. I gave them a 2 star just because of the server being nice other wise they would have 1 star because the desserts were edible. read more

I don't know what these bad reviews are talking about. I was apprehensive going in because of what I read but I left not only satisfied but impressed! The decor is nice and looks to be updated within the last year. New floors, newly upholstered and comfortable seating, theme appropriate wall decorations, and beautiful stained glass behind the bar. All of the staff was wonderful! The servers work together for the benefit of the customers and the teamwork makes a big difference! The food was truly amazing!!! We got the Jalapeño Cream Enchiladas with shredded chicken (excellent flavor, good kick of spice), enchilada tort (phenomenal diced grilled chicken), and the supreme burrito with mild green chili sauce. The pork green chili here is some of the best I've had! We were too full for desert which actually says A LOT about the quality of the entrees because this fat kid ALWAYS saves too for desert! 10/10 would recommend The Armadillo in La Salle! wow what to say. I have been coming here for almost 25 years. this is the first inthe chair the original and it shows the food is better here most the time then any other store. the salsa is top notch and the food is amazing. they do have there off times were the food takes a dip in quality due to the produce they have to buy during different seasons which is why i gave a 4 instead of a 5. if the food doesnt taste to good wait tell fall then give it a try. read more

Ate here today, it was alright. I don't think it is as good as it once was, but still alright. The staff was fairly unmotivated and the food was fine. I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to return here, but if others wanted to go I wouldn't fight it either. Average would be the best I could say. Delicious food, generous portions, reasonable prices and wonderful waitstaff in a restaurant with history! Local friends invited us here and we LOVED it! Amazing fish tacos per my picky husband. I had the chicken tortilla soup - Oh SO flavorful and authentically made. Our son enjoyed eating what we had too and he had a great time coloring the kid's menu. Our friends had the one of the platters and the other a taco shell salad. All looked wonderful and had terrific portions. Am quite confused by the poor ratings. Only ate here once with friends. We all had a frozen margarita. Not the best I've had. I like mine sweeter. I would recommend on the rocks. Chips were ok but needed salt. Salsa was very good. Two of us ordered the three combination platter with beef taco, enchilada and chile rellenos. They need to drain their taco beef. Very very greasy. The chicken enchilada was very good and the chile was excellent. Sides of Mexican rice and refried beans. My wife got a carnitas burrito and it was huge. She could only eat half. One guest got quesadillas and she finished them all. We ordered sopapillas (2 each) which were soft, tasty and fresh and came with honey. Service was good but they had to go back and get guacamole (all avocado) and sour cream for my wife and they forgot a taco for one guest. Prices were reasonable for what we received. BAD EXPERIENCE!! Went for Mother's Day Brunch...BIG mistake!! They actually raised the prices for this disaster without informing us. The food was terrible! Most of it was cold and you couldn't even tell what some of it was (none of it was marked). It looked like it was thrown together and there was certainly no pride with preparation and presentation. Had dinner in here last night while over in the area. Pretty busy for coming in later(7:00pm), service was a little slow and could have been better in my opinion. Food was mostly good except they seem to not give you much green chile and instead surround your entrée with rice and beans excessively. Did not care for the new system where paying with a credit card your server brings an electronic device to you and lets you directly enter your tip why they are watching? If there is a concern about employees using skimmers why not make a policy if they get caught they will be terminated if doing so instead of doing what they are now trying. Overall, our visit was fair in here and they have room for improvements I think. read more

Do not eat here! Food was average at best, service was poor, many dirty tables and this was on a Thursday might when they weren't busy. The worst part of this sorry meal was they added an additional charge to my credit card. When I pointed this out to their manager, she said on four occasions she would make it right and never did. I can see why the other Armadillos have closed! read more

I have eaten at this restaurant for years and USUALLY have great food and service. Tonight was not the case. As far as flavor, the food was O.K., but it was just barely warm when we received it. Actually, the table across from us received the wrong food and I am thinking it was ours, so it went back to the kitchen and sat there until our server realized it was her order. We should have sent the food back, but I am leery about doing that because you never know what happens to your food when it is sent back to the kitchen. Anyway - - - half warm food is a real bummer. Also, the chips have always been thin and crispy. Now they are thick and hard. Suggest they go back to what you used to serve. The service was less than attentive. There were long periods that we didn't even see her walking around the dinning room. Have no idea where she was, but she was not attending to her tables. Hope this doesn't happen again or I won't be patronizing this restaurant. There are just too many other places to eat. read more

We really enjoy the food (my husband always gets the molcajete bowl), and have always received good service.... but we don't go back too often because it smells kind of nasty inside (like dirty carpet? throw up? stinky feet?). Armadillo owners - please get a new carpet (or clean the old one?)! We will come so much more often. read more

Love the La Salle Armadillo. I have traveled all over the US due to work and when you hanker for some good Mexican/South Western Food no one does it better than Colorado...........I really enjoy this food and take the family and friends a lot. Keep on Keepin on!!!! read more

I found this restaurant one evening after visiting the Greely location and finding it closed. I was very pleased with it and have since visited it several times. It is a long way from Golden for me to drive, but well worth it! I have since visited the Northglenn location and found it to be very good, also.
