The service we got at Arlo NoMad was incredible. The staff were super friendly and helped us from check in to check out. It is conveniently located in midtown manhattan and is very accessible to public transportation. The rooms are a little smaller but you are in New York City. There is a bar, restaurant, and coffee shop all on site. They also partner with a local NYC gym for you to workout. No gym on site at the hotel. Never again. The location is fine but not even remotely strong enough of a selling point to ever stay at this hotel when there are many others to choose from in NoMad. We requested a coffee maker and were told someone would bring something that heats up hot water to the room. This is the only hotel I have ever stayed at in my life that did not have a coffee maker. Even the Arlo Midtown location had a great coffee maker with coffee and tea in the room. It's also a shame we were given a room right next to the linen closet with constant noise. It's also a shame the staff running the July 4th rooftop party decided it was time to 'shut down' the event when it got windy though no storm came. We refused to leave and stayed on the rooftop with many others taking photos and enjoying the view. It's also a shame they only served hot dogs when some don't eat meat, and the advertisement for the party included pretzels and 'bites' other than hot dogs which were not provided. We had a lovely one night stay at the Arlo NoMad! While the service was... questionable, they did make up for the issues. Upon arrival, we were quickly checked in and went up to our room, only for someone to open the door 5 minutes later when they gave up the same room! My husband went down to address the issue and the front desk gave us a complimentary upgrade, 3 floors up, roomier, and with a superior view. We unfortunately had a bit of rain so the roof deck restaurant closed early, but we were still able to access the roof and had a nice time hanging out and taking in the views. As I knew ahead of time, this hotel is ALL for the views and the rooms are as minimal as you get, but for one night and epic views it was perfect! read more

I had a brief but great stay here recently. They have some really cool room reviews with floor to ceiling windows. If you're able to book on a higher level floor, you feel like you're sleeping in a cute *little* urban fish bowl. As for room size, they're pretty standard for NYC (so on the smaller side) but they are clean and comfortable. The bathroom has a shower and toilet with the sink located in the walkway entry area like many narrow city rooms. The front desk staff were all so nice and helpful. They gave good energy from the moment I was greeted and seem to genuinely connect with guests. That alone is refreshing and a great way to start a stay! I didn't hang around long enough to check out the rooftop, but thought the little cafe in the lobby was convenient for my early morning start! In the beginning i was debating between two hotels, and I decided to call both to get further information. Brianna was the one that answered my call from Arlo and she answered every single question I had and gave me the best recommendations, just was so sweet and nice from the get go, while the other hotel I called was very short and didn't provide any value. That alone made me want to book with Arlo because the customer service was already great. Fast forward to getting there, the hotel smelled very good. Brianna made sure we got the best room possible for my one year anniversary and my girlfriend was absolutely stunned seeing the room! It was gorgeous and the view was breathtaking!! Brianna was also super knowledgeable about different places to go, food recommendations, which subway is where, etc. She was amazing and pray she has a long and successful career in the hospitality industry b/c she made it feel special Customer service was fully on top of EVERYTHING, they made the bed every day, made sure we had fresh towels, and even came to our room to show us how the blinds worked. The urban fee was a very cool perk while I didn't use the gym, being able to ride the citi bikes for free around central park was awesome and the rooftop in the building was also sick. The subway wasn't too far from the hotel either which was nice (3-4 different ones within 2-5 blocks) The elevators can take a while as only two of them go all the way up but we were patient and understanding. They also have tik tac toe on every floor so you can play while waiting Last thing I'll say is sooo many comments kept mentioning "the room is so tiny" maybe I just watched so many videos on Tiktok that I just got accustomed to it but I'm 6'3 and felt totally fine being in the room with my girlfriend. We got the Queen Sky View Room and it was 10000% worth it. Not once did I feel claustrophobic but of course more than two people in one room then it might be a different story. It's near Korea Town, a few metro stations, and a few parks. 20 minutes walking distance from Times Square and lots of other shops. It's a safe area around, especially to and from your destination walking. Awesome amenities from a cafe at the lobby and a middle eastern restaurants, cute post it wall to post your New York dreams, and stunning rooftop terrace and bar that gives a gaze toward the city and the Empire State Building. Major shoutout out to Keelan, Kevin, and, especially, Brianna, for the awesome customer support in checking me into the hotel and check out as well. Brianna was so energetic, accommodating, and a joy to help me with the hotel logistics. Like all NYC hotels, the space is on a smaller scale, but it provided a stunning corner view of the city. Upon entering, everything was clean from the bathroom, closet, and bedding. I slept comfortably each night with the centralized cooling and heating unit there. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. You're walking distance to Koreatown, Bryant Park, and Penn Station. An influencer I follow on Instagram shared that she stayed here and shared a promo code, making it the cheapest Manhattan hotel I could find on short notice at $179-$226 a night (not including state and city fees, but it was still the cheapest with those fees.) There was no gym, but you could use one in the neighborhood. You also have 1 hour of riding an e-bike included in your room fee! The hotel has a coffee shop in the lobby as well as a restaurant and rooftop bar which is convenient. Rooms are pretty small, but it doesn't matter! On my first day, one of the elevators was broken--with only one running, everyone was late and it took forever to get to/from the lobby and your room. read more

This place is often mentioned in Instagram reels for amazing views and is totally worth all the hype. My actual rating is 4.5 because of points 4 and 5 below. I visited this place in Nov 2022 and here is the summary of my experience there: 1. Location 6/5: What a location. This place is an absolute gem within walking distance from the Empire State Building (it can also be visible from your room in case you get one) and about a mile from Times Square. 2. Ambiance 5/5: The hotel has a great chic and urban vibe and a Mediterranean restaurant on the ground floor and a great rooftop on the 31st floor that presents a mesmerizing view of the Empire State Building at night. 3. Service 5/5: The staff was knowledgeable, courteous, and very helpful. They gave us great suggestions for sightseeing and which subway to take to go to all the touristy places plus they also had bike credits during our stay. We also had complimentary macaroons and soda when we entered the room which was very sweet of them 4. Room size 3/5: I know we have all heard about those amazing full-view glass rooms. The only problem is they are very small and you hardly have space for anything. Although, the small space is well-maintained and doesn't look cramped at all 5 Value for money 3/5: I came here on an official visit and had to book in a hurry but this place was really costly. I understand that everything in Manhattan is costly but I don't think I would be able to afford this place if it was not a business trip. Honestly, during check in. some of the service was quite unfriendly and we had so many issues with our room. For example, the roofing of our shower fell when my partner and I were not even in the bathroom. Thanks goodness no one was in there. Also, they lock the shampoo and conditioner onto the wall but the bottles were broken on the first day and we couldn't even use them. We had asked to change our room 3x times and they kept saying that they'll just send someone to fix the roof. Once the roof was fixed, the shower floor was full of dust and crumbs and we didn't to step into it. However, serious shoutout to Jamila who was the nicest front desk who also always gave us water when we needed it and helped us move rooms. I thought that was very sweet and we were grateful she had looked out for us like that. Our new room didn't have any issues so if you end up in a decent room, then overall stay was good. Minor notes, the rooms are quite small. We had to fit the open suitcase under the bed, otherwise my partner and I couldn't stand anywhere. Additionally, the gym is not in the building but rather a public gym. They do provide the free city bike service which was a plus. Also, for those who aren't from NY, please be aware that there is a $50 per night urban fee so we paid an $200 upfront. read more

Like many of the reviews call out, this hotel has a beautiful rooftop. The staff working here are also really helpful. Our experience was good because of most of them. The location is great but can get a lot of traffic. The restaurant gives you credits to use at their diner, but the food served there was some of the worst I've had in NYC. Not sure if that's usual, or just our experience. The elevator wait times can get so bad that they've had to install games outside them on each floor to keep you occupied. The rooms are tiny and barely have enough space for you to open your luggage with no closet space whatsoever. Our bathroom door did not close and one could tell the building was a little old. I love staying at the Nomad Arlo Hotel! The room sizes are cozy, perfect for two people. The hotel has an amazing fragrance that adds to the welcoming atmosphere. As a repeat guest, my only wish was to get an upgrade or at least the option to pay for one to enjoy the city view I've had during previous stays. The staff is always thoughtful; they made a small macaron and card for my wife's birthday, just like they did on our prior visit. Being from the East End of Long Island, we love spending weekends here. However, I hoped for a bit more accommodation for my wife's special day--happy wife, happy life, after all. This is a good base for a short visit to NYC. We booked a weekend getaway, and this served us well. We didn't come to New York to spend the weekend in a hotel room. We experienced the city and slept here. Staff were friendly and helpful. As others have said, rooms are quite small. But it is clean and bright. Bed was comfortable. Complimentary water was in recyclable cans. The bottle filler didn't work properly, so that was disappointing. I filled my water bottle elsewhere. Shower and toilet were good. The vent over the toilet worked, so despite the small room there was no issue with a smell from using the toilet. We had enough towels. The thermostat was set to auto, with the only option to turn it off. Our room was really hot, but we learned that it got hot when the thermostat was off. If we set the thermostat on, it activated the AC. It was either really hot, or we had cool air blowing on us. In all, it was a nice, conveniently located crash pad for a weekend spent mostly out and about in the city. read more

The stay was worth it as I was with my teen daughter and her friend on their first trip to NYC. The manager Keillen/Kellen (* sorry I forgot the spelling!) was above and beyond. He made sure they had a great room with a view and that I was on the same floor as them. Can't say much for the hotel and rooftop bar themselves (both were essentially closed when we went), but the rooftop is spectacular. If you know someone staying there (or can sneak in as a guest - you'll need a keycard to use the elevator), the view is stunning. There's lots of comfy areas to sit and chat with friends, or tables to share a meal. Bring a blanket if at night, as it does tend to get cold up there in the late evenings. It's easy to get around, and you're close to everything, but the hotel itself stays surprisingly quiet. Always a great night's sleep. I think I'm finally done with this hotel. I've stayed here about 7 times and it's time to branch out. The location is pretty ideal since I love koreatown and it's easy walking distance to Penn Station, but there are cons. The rooms are tiny even for NY standards. Every time I get out of bed, I hit my head or back on the TV. The rooms are way too small for 2 people. You're constantly bumping into each other. The bathroom doors slide shut, but with a big gap. There's zero privacy. There's nothing left to the imagination when someone uses the bathroom. Last time I stayed at this hotel, an engineer unlocked my door and walked in on me while I was in bed. That same night, a fight broke out on my floor. So yeah... I think it's time to move on. I've lost that lovin' feeling. read more

I'm surprised there aren't more people who come here ( which one of my friends mentioned might be because of the music ). While I enjoyed it , I do see that maybe there's some room for improvement . This is a small and nice hotel in the middle of New York. It is close to a lot of restaurants and places which makes this a convenient spot. Entering the lobby, you'll be impressed with the beautiful scent from their own home fragrances. This scent really beats away my tiredness from the long 6-hour flight. Modern and cozy lobby as well. Price is a bit high for the compact room; however, the view from room is phenomenon. This is absolutely a spot for photogenic Instagram posts!! What I did was stay only 1 night in this hotel and move to a more spacious and lower price range hotel for the rest of the trip. Not worth it. Stay at a hotel with actual amenities. This one charged me $10 for a bottle of sparkling water in their "diner." They also advertise a $15/day credit to the diner but then on check-in they inform you it's actually only for dinner. I bought a coffee and the sparking water at like 4:30pm and it was charged fully--for nearly $20. I live in LA: I'm used to an expensive lifestyle, but gimmie a break. This is robbery. The $35 "urban fee" is for stuff you likely aren't going to use (a gym down the street) or stuff that should be included anyway (two cans of flat water?wifi? Um, wow thank you so much this is totally worth the extra $35 per day) and does NOT include stuff you DEFINITELY want. As in... They provide NO complimentary coffee or tea. For a hotel charging you $35/day on top of your advertised rate, this is ABSURD. Straight to jail for that. They have a coffee shop in the lobby so if you're running out to work you can pay $5 for a DRIP COFFEE. The rooftop was closed the whole time so I couldn't enjoy that. This place is more like a hostel masquerading as a hotel, with deceptive pricing. Next time I'm in town for a job I will stay at a more expensive hotel where there's at least value for the money. Don't tell me the rate is $160/night and then add on a ton of fees and taxes...Just tell me it's $230. They had the nerve to email me after I did their survey and "explain" that they "aim to be transparent" and that's why they informed me of the limitations and fees "at check-in." Not the definition of transparency, bud. The experience would be so much better if they weren't trying to deceive you and nickel and dime you. At a certain point it's not just about the money it's about feeling like a sucker. You should also know that if you're not in the Skyview Rooms, you're not getting floor to ceiling windows like in the photos. It's just a bed and a small window. read more

So TikTok def hyped this place up, and for the price of the King Sky View I had... it wasn't worth.. I paid $411 a night for 5 nights during the first week of April, but I knew what I was getting into. I already accepted it okay? T-T I accepted that it was a tiny room and the bathroom was literally just a flapping door 2.5 meters or less from the bed hahaha The cool thing was they already had shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel-- they all smelled sooo good! As far as outside sound, you can't really hear anything through the walls, but you can definitely hear a lot of what's happening outside the door.. haha it was a little awkward. Looking back, I'm glad it was a good experience, but I'll definitely be booking elsewhere for the price I paid. I booked this wayyy ahead of time and requested to have a view of the Empire State Building.... We didn't haha I was really sad about that because I wanted to have the best experience, but I understand it was just a request, not a promise or a guarantee. I also requested to have more more pillows and hangers... That didn't happen. When you enter the hotel it smells really nice, and they even have an option to buy their signature scent. It was for a special someone's birthday at the time, so the good thing was that they laid out complimentary treats with an alcoholic beverage and a birthday message. The front desk agent we initially talked to was nice too. I think his name was Tes or Tis? I'm sorry I forgot.. but he was nice. I was nervous about their elevators!!! I heard so many horrible reviews about them! But luckily, all 3 were working. You need your room key to use them. I think it's cool how you can leave a message by the elevators. They have papers, tape, and markers to write or draw whatever you want and you can stick it on. Adorable idea! Room service was great though. I also liked how you can control the blinds. The remotes are by the bed. There was a tv in the room. The rooftop was nice too! It was epic to have the Empire State Building right there. It was literally a 5 min walk away. I love that it's in Koreatown, so we just walked to so many Korean food options. It was a good experience.. again, just not for the price. Stayed here for a weekend right before Christmas. Starting from the moment that I checked in the service here is incredible. They were so kind to let me go into a room at noon despite a 3 PM check in. Further they upgraded me to a Cityview which meant that directly outside of my window was the incredible skyline views of the pictures I added below. No zooming necessary. Wow this place is famous for being a micro hotel luckily they are clean they maintain their building and the windows which are huge and the room actually open allowing for fresh air. The rooms are very compact but the space is well utilized and for one person like myself staying there it worked out perfectly. I would definitely come back and stay here again as it was worth the value and the price and it's nomad location was perfect for my walking. read more

Just close enough to time square to not be obnoxious. And 2-4 blocks away from multiple subway stations. Room: We paid a little extra for a corner queen and it was to die for. We were on the 27th floor with the most fantastic view. It was small yes but clean and provided everything we needed, even a tiny fridge! Roof top bar: Excellent drinks and the little dips were fantastic. Awesome view of the Empire State Building. Cons: literally the only thing that was annoying was the elevator. There's no staff elevator and very small hallways so things could get pretty tight and sometimes traveling up/down from your room could take a while. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. This is a quaint and super cute boutique hotel in a very convenient location in SoHo. The rooms were quite small but cozy, and the bed was so comfortable! We enjoyed the Foxtail, the onsite bar with a speakeasy vibe, Linden's restaurant for happy hour and the rooftop bar, which had wonderful views. This hotel had a perfect vibe, lively but relaxing, not overstimulating. We moved to a different hotel for our last couple nights and my husband worked late one night, so I caught an Uber to come back and enjoy the vibe here. There is a little slice of heaven pizza place right next door as well as many fantastic restaurants and shops within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again! read more

We are here for four nights and have two rooms booked for the three of us. The location is great and there are lots of Korean cafes within two blocks plus a couple of grocery stores including a large Asian market on East 32nd Street above 5th Avenue. The staff at the front desk were very accommodating when we checked in as we arrived three hours early and needed to check our bags. The rooms are quite small but designed very well so that one can move around without bumping into the bed and furniture. Everything one would need is available, and once you organize your personal stuff and utilized the shelves and desk, you can survive quite well, but some things will need to stay packed until needed. We have been in even smaller hotel rooms in Manhattan, but this is the best one and we would not hesitate to return. Our rooms are on Floors 20 and 21 with a limited view of a condo or hotel across the street so we would ask for a higher floor next time back. We have been either cabbing or using Lyft to get around to Brooklyn, Chinatown and the Met and staff at the front desk have been great calling the cabs for us. read more

I only had a drink at the bar when I stopped into Arlo while awaiting a table next door at Her Name is Han. But I wanted to praise the bar and the bartender. I also observed the common space in use, and it looks great, with people enjoying themselves. Since I live in New York City, I'm not looking for a hotel. Based on what I saw, I would recommend this place. I was impressed. Positively. read more
