I stayed at the Arlo Midtown for my birthday weekend and overall had a very good experience. Rates were reasonable/affordable. The hotel is modern, clean, and has a fresh scent throughout the property. My room had great views, which was definitely a highlight of the stay. The only downside was the responsiveness of the text message assistance -- replies were noticeably slow, especially when I needed quick support. Aside from that, the stay was comfortable and well-maintained. I would consider returning for the location and the views alone.

I had the time of my life at this hotel! I don't typically stay in Midtown for obvious reasons, especially as a former New Yorker (lololol) but this is actually such a great location, sort of tucked away, but still close to everything. And, I had a wonderful experience. My experience literally began the moment I walked through the door. I was greeted very cheerfully by the Arlo team. Specifically, Ken(neth). Ken was such good energy and got me taken care of immediately. Unfortunately, I booked a room through Priceline (I would not recommend doing that - book directly - it was actually cheaper) so there was a mixup with my room when I checked in. However, Ken and the manager (a very sweet Black woman with braids whose name I didn't catch - sorry sis) did their best to accommodate me and work with me. They honestly provided such a great experience and problem solved right there on the spot, which a lot of hotels, even big chains, won't do these days. The check-in process was smooth and easy, and Ken did a fantastic job of explaining all of the hotel amenities to me. In fact, Ken served as a beacon of resourcefulness the entire time I was there, because I found myself asking for good food, options super nearby, as well as other random things (again, not a Midtown girl), and he accommodated every request with a smile. Again, I couldn't have asked for a better guide or check-in experience. My suite: my suite was perfect. It was so incredibly clean, even the very deep bathtub. It smelled great, too, and the fortune cookies were such a cute touch. The room was also surprisingly quiet. Despite the fact that there were many people coming in and out of the elevator in hallway throughout the night, I rarely heard anyone. It was perfect. And that bed? So incredibly comfortable. I also had the opportunity to go to the bar downstairs. That was a wonderful experience as well. I don't remember my bartenders names, but I know that they did their very best to make sure I was satisfied with all of my many drinks that I had over my two days. Rooftop: even though it was very windy and cold, I had to take a look at the rooftop, and I was so glad I did. You have such a beautiful view from up there and there's a gorgeous mural painted. Perfect place for photos. And honestly, a great place to relax and catch your breath after a wild day in the city. I'm normally a Hyatt girl. However, I can honestly tell you that the next time I come to the city, I will look at Arlo differently and will definitely try to stay there. I really enjoyed my experience. I cannot think Ken enough for making it so incredibly wonderful and being so kind, especially on my birthday.

Bedroom was small but typical NYC.

Clean great location near Jacob Javitz convention center and the Hudson yards. Housekeeping was timely, I needed more towels and they appeared quickly. Check out was way. Extremely trendy and euro. A change from the chain hotels The bar, restaurant and coffee bistro were a great touch . They had a welcoming board to right a note. My friend from childhood came to visit and we wrote a note . I'll stay here and highly recommend it.

I stayed at the Arlo during a work event for about 3 days and it was good. In all interactions with the staff, their service was amazing. Upon arrival, there seemed to be confusion about who was paying for my room, so I needed my team to call them to confirm it was paid for, but during this time, the hostess gave me my room key and allowed me to get settled in:) When going to their restaurant(Altair) their vegetarian dish wasn't my favorite and kinda pricey, but their red-headed hostess was to die for. I loved her lol she was so funny and professional. During my last night, I decided to get a late-night burger with a colleague and the hotel receptionist was super helpful and held all of our bags and coats so we didn't have to drop them off in the room and she chatted with us about a few food spots to try so she was also great. My room was a bit small, but what can you expect in New York lol. The room was cleaned everyday and I had fortune cookies left in the room with such cute notes inside of them! When I opened it, it shattered all over the floor and made a mess(totally my fault), but it was cleaned up by the next morning. My only issue was that you could see straight into my room from their ART Midtown rooftop patio which was awkward lol. Other than that, it was an overall good experience.

Great location! Great food! Spectacular views & located perfectly next to union square. Was very chic and had a upscale vibe with friendly visitors. Would stay here again as it was walking distance to almost everything touristy.

Absolutely fantastic. The staff with every single member are the stars of the experience. All of them are friendly, professional, and caring. The hotel is fun, well kept, and overall extremely comfortable. Great location. Awesome valet parking service. (Yes, high price $75 a day, but that is New york, and the convenience can not be beat, worth it!) Great rooftop bar. Great street level restaurant bar. Excellent breakfast restaurant. A new favorite hotel of mine.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Arlo midtown hotel. It was centrally located and I was able to easily walk to Broadway, Times Square Chelsea, and the Peloton Studio (my reason for being in town). The hotel room was clean, comfortable, and safe. There was always someone at the front desk and guests have to tap their key card to use the elevator.

I attended the Arlo's Living Room Gallery: Radhika Gupta-Buckley as the artist. Beautiful hotel lobby the bar area was packed with after work crowd and gallery invitees. I had a glass of wine at the bar. People next to me were eating the truffle pizza it smelled divine I will order that next . The bartender was lovely very attentive. I've added the event in pictures .

Chilly night on the bleachers of time square

This hotel was in a great location! Right next to the convention center and right off of Midtown. The staff were wonderful! The bartenders in the lobby bar were great, especially a gentleman we called "Rollo". He will answer to that- especially if u tell him u were referred by boat Jarrod from Tennessee/Florida!

Traveling during the holidays can be hectic, but the staff at the Park Hyatt made everything feel effortless. Every interaction -- from the front desk to housekeeping to the concierge -- was filled with genuine kindness, patience, and warmth. It was clear they weren't just doing their jobs; they truly cared about making our holiday special. The hotel itself is stunningly elegant yet incredibly comfortable. After long walks through Central Park, returning to our room felt like stepping into a peaceful retreat. The spaciousness, thoughtful details, and quiet luxury made it easy for our family to relax, laugh, and simply be together -- which is what the holidays are really about. We had our first breakfast in New York at the hotel's "the living room" which is located in the lobby. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful with modern decor and stunning 30 foot ceilings. We arrived at 7am as the restaurant just opened and Kamil greeted us with a warm genuine smile. We've stayed at 5 different Park Hyatts in the past 5 years (Kyoto being the most recent) and no one has made us feel as special as Kamil. He has the unique gift of hospitality. He went out of his way to treat us like family and made us feel very special. All of his small gestures, friendly smiles, and thoughtful attention to detail, turned simple moments into special memories. During a season meant for connection and joy, the Park Hyatt delivered both in abundance. Spending Christmas in New York is always special, but spending it at the Park Hyatt New York elevated the experience beyond anything we could have imagined. Our days were spent with full hearts, lasting memories, and deep gratitude for a team that understands true hospitality. This is a place we will return to -- not just for the luxury, but for the people who made us feel so genuinely at home during the most meaningful time of year.

Unfortunately, due to geopolitical instability impacting our return route through Amman and the broader Persian Gulf region, our travel plans became unworkable. I contacted multiple hotels involved in our itinerary, and every one of them demonstrated professionalism and understanding by waiving cancellation fees given the circumstances--including other Marriott properties and the Ritz-Carlton. This property, however, took a completely different approach. I spoke with Samir in the reservations department. He refused to provide any refund. We went back and forth multiple times, and each time he introduced a new justification. At one point, he claimed the U.S. State Department had not advised against travel to the Persian Gulf and that any warning had expired on March 31. I provided evidence that there was no expiration date, yet he continued to deny the request. I also explained that other Marriott properties and Ritz-Carlton locations had already issued full refunds under the same circumstances. Despite this, he continued to refuse any accommodation. Only after I told him I would be leaving a review about my experience did he offer a future credit. That is not a practical solution when I have no certainty of returning to Morocco. I then requested that a manager follow up with me. No one ever did. Communication stopped entirely. This response reflects a lack of flexibility, accountability, and basic customer consideration--especially when compared to how other properties under the Marriott International brand handled the exact same situation. As a result, I had to absorb the financial loss and cancel the reservation. Based on this experience, I recommend considering alternative accommodations that demonstrate greater responsiveness and professionalism when dealing with legitimate, unforeseen global disruptions.

Bonus-it was clean!! The iPad system to control the room is clever: manage the thermostat, tv, blinds/shades and lights. It takes a minute for the iPad to connect (not sure if it's a wifi issue or that these iPads are an older model). Speaking of the thermostat, it kinda worked. I think it shuts off or scales back when there's no movement in the room. I had a hard time getting it cooled down to a good temperature, so I didn't sleep as well as I would have liked. The bed is very comfortable, though...and even with the small space, there are plenty of places to hang clothes and store items. Several outlets and USB charging stations available as well. There aren't any washcloths - just hand/body towels... and it's up to you if you want to have your room lightly cleaned or fully turned over. (See your iPad to make that option). There was only one elevator working, so it could take a few minutes to get your lift up or down. The staff that we engaged with were great. Check in and out were super easy. The lobby is pretty cool and hip. There's a small rooftop bar/lounge and a nice sized food/canteen area in the lobby. The location is outstanding. 50th just off 8th Ave...right in the heart of Times Square and walking distance to many other destinations. I would stay here in the future...2-3 nights is perfect. I am familiar with CitizenM as I have been to their hotel bars in their Miami locations, but had never stayed at one. I truly enjoyed my experience here. From check in to ordering wine or coffee at the bar, to the room, it was all lovely. I will say, the room is quite small. But truly, what do you need a big room for when you're going to be exploring NYC all day? The bed we got was a king, and dare I say it was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in. The room is set up a bit like a studio, with two little closets which made it easy to organize and unpack, a small desk, and a vanity in the common area. The toilet and shower are together in what kind of looks like a spaceship capsule in the middle of the room. One cool thing is how high tech this hotel is - you have an ipad that controls everything in the room from the room temp, your blinds, to the TV, to connecting your devices to the TV to stream music, etc. In the lobby bar you can opt in for hotel breakfast buffet, but instead we would just grab coffees as we were getting ready. Grace at the bar was super friendly, as was all of the staff. My one area for improvement is the elevator. We received a notice that one of the three elevators was broken during our stay and every time we would get on the elevator it would take us multiple floors up before going down. Not the worst thing in the world, but just annoying if you're in a rush to get somewhere. If you are looking for an affordable, centrally located hotel to stay with a friendly staff this hotel is your spot. You have multiple subway stations within a 1-2 minute walk which can easily get you to any neighborhood you want to go during your stay. Would definitely return!

Prime location! Modern, spacious rooms (for the city)!…read more The elevators though.... Oy. I stayed at this hotel over the New Years holiday and was thrilled to be so close to Madison Square Garden and Times Square. As was expected, check in was a bit chaotic given the time of year. The ground floor entrance was PACKED with luggage on first arrival. After weaving our way through, we located the check-in desk on the 5th or 6th floor. Tons of people but adequate seating to wait for our room to be ready. An upper floor meant having to figure out their dreaded elevator system. It left something to be desired, to say the least. With only 3 elevators that service the whole of the hotel, and a 4th that goes who knows where, it was almost always a lengthy struggle to catch one. No buttons on the interior of the carriage, all elevators were called with a touchscreen device that seemingly tried to pack as many people as possible into one small space, leaving many behind that couldn't fit, before directing the passengers to another elevator to repeat the whole process over again. One day was so bad, it was actually preferable to walk up the stairs to the 14th floor. Woof. The room itself was wonderful. Spacious, with 2 beds. Very clean. Beautiful view of the city and the arena next door. Great way to catch the sun set. Walk in shower with both an overhead and handheld shower attachment. Great lighting. Shower had heavily frosted glass that faced the bedroom area so be prepared for your silhouette to be on full display for anyone you may be rooming with. Nice sized closet, safe, and mini fridge. Big flat screen television. Window shade worked very well to block out the light if you're hoping to sleep in late. Walls can be a bit thin, especially if you have a rowdy bunch of kids right next door as we did. Aside from the elevators, the perks far outweighed the usual peskier elements (e.g., noise, etc.) one encounters when staying away from home.
