I love this place! I've been here 4 separate times for lunch. The burgers are great, the atmosphere has a cool vibe and the staff is wonderfully friendly. This place was absolutely gorgeous and I was excited to show my visiting boyfriend what downtown Springfield is like. We happened upon Arlington's because of the good reviews. He had ordered buffalo wings as a starter and it arrived very quickly. I am not the biggest fan of wings so they were completely for him. As he ate the first two, he kept mentioning that something tasted off. After biting into one more he looked into the wing and it was pink and rubbery. When he showed this to me, I was completely shocked and cut into the remaining wings just to see that none of them were cooked. It honestly looked like they cooked them for less than five minutes and threw them on a plate. When we told one of the waitresses about the problem, she was shocked and displeased. Close to the capital building. I would eat everything on the menu. Offer a good number of spicy items. I had the BLT with Texas toast, jalapeño bacon and A1 mayo. Perfect. House chips have a spice to them also. read more

We had a wonderful and reasonably priced meal here tonight. I had a chicken sandwich and my wife had the Greek wrap. Both were good as was the service. Our drinks and meals where brought out very quickly, but I should note that they only had a few tables when were there. Lengthy post but worth your time to read. ONE OF THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCES OF MY LIFE!!! SEATED ONE HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES WAITING FOR DINNER!!! The evening of Thursday July 31, 2014 Myself, my spouse and three other couples chose to visit Arlington's for dinner. We are an easy going laid back group. At about 5:45 PM We did arrive with no reservations so being faced with a 30 minute wait was no big deal. We consider a short wait a good sign as that means the place is busy and therefore likely a good place. VERY BAD ASSUMPTION in this instance. Following the short wait, and for us there was a nearby delightful little gift shop to shorten our little wait. We were seated; the time now is approximately 6:15 PM. The lively and vivacious waiter arrived at our table a short time later, took drink orders all quite simple, waters and waters with lemon...mine being the most complicated, I requested lime rather than lemon. Not long later, our waters arrived just as requested. What a pleasant place, friendly service, a bit on the warm side but the place was crowded. The friendly waiter took our orders and all seemed well....the waiter then went to the next table (I will call it #2) and took their order...there were 6 of them and two small children, seemed to be nice people. Then the waiter disappeared - apparently to take orders to the kitchen. He reappeared and went to another table with 3 people seated (I will call this #3). While we waited for our dinners, pretty simple orders....we all chose from the menu not asking for exceptions other than to add a side dish of something on one or two orders - no substitutions just add ons. We waited and we waited...to this point, the waiter never did come back, to our table to check on us. The time now is about 6:45 PM...the hostess had arrived several times to ensure that our waters were refilled. NO WAITER....#2 had their dinners arrive and were enjoying them....time is approximately 7 PM, #3 received their dinners.....appeared to be enjoying them....meanwhile the hostess had continued to ensure our waters were full; what else could she do? The waiter was giving a good deal of attention to #2 and #3 and at about 7:15 PM both #2 and #3 were about to finish their dinners....this waiter still had not come to check on our table NOT EVEN ONCE! at this point, one lady in our group stood and waved her arms wildly in the air attempting to get the waiters attention....NO LUCK... At about 7:30 PM (we have been seated for ONE HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES! At this point a member of our group sought out management...suddenly there is a flurry of activity...most food was on the cooling side....the pre-dinner salads were shoved at us along with dinner rather than before. After a legitimate complaint, while somewhat enjoying our cold dinners, not only did the waiter NEVER SHOW HIS FACE, management did not bother to check back. Today a member of our party called to complain about this situation....she was given a telephone shove off and abrupt attitude....the management may as well have just called her a liar ---he did say "I can't believe this". Service being this bad, management being made aware on the spot and taking a "non-chalant" attitude...then when contacted the following day be abrupt and non-chalant about it and nearly call the caller a liar....Okay you can get poor table service anywhere....but management when notified usually steps in and ensures that the situation is corrected. NOT AT ARLINGTON'S!!! read more

Great location and atmosphere. I see on previous reviews that service has been an issue, but I have not had this problem. I've been several times and everything went smoothly. The food is always great, warm, and I like that, while there are a few standard menu choices, there are some unique options. It's always fun to try something new!! read more

Arlington's is an excellent out-of-the-way spot for dinner and/or drinks. It's a mix of classy and fun with its Victorian-inspired decor, solid craft beer list, and unique menu. It's one of Springfield's newest places and already one of my favorites. The craft beer list is solid, the food is really good, and the bartenders and patrons are friendly. While relatively new to Springfield, and with a rather small menu, Arlington's is a force to be reckoned with. The atmosphere is great - nice and open, with great lighting from the big front windows. The food is phenomenal. The burgers are huge, bursting with flavor and cooked perfectly. The prices are excellent, especially because you get so much food for your money! This was my third time eating here. It's always been great food. Even tonight but, the ran out of mango salsa for their jerk meatballs. The waitress came out and told me this after I had ordered. I complained because it was only 7:15 and thought it was poor planning once again. They ran out of chipotle at 6 pm last time. So I said anything will do. She left then came back a minute later and said they found some. She brought it out and it was just salsa. I guess they didn't know I had ordered this three weeks ago so I knew what their mango salsa was like. This was definitely not mango salsa. It was still good but it erks me to think they thought they were pulling a fast one on me. I still love the place but I've noticed less and less business each time we eat there. This is a little gem in downtown Springfield. They offer lots of good food. I've gotten their cheeseburgers and they are delicious. Last time I was in there I tried their pulled pork sandwich and that was phenomenal. I like that they have drink specials sometimes. I was there during Paint Nite once and it was a little busy but it didn't affect our service or speed of our food coming out. Good service and good food! read more

We celebrated a birthday here last night. Big fan of the atmosphere! It's a beautifully designed restaurant and bar. You have to be okay with bar food and not expect anything too fancy. But considering everyone in our group didn't leave a thing left on their plates, I'd conclude that the food was good. They also have an extensive beer and drink selection. Their upstairs banquet hall is gorgeous! Perfect for any private party or special occasion. The service was just okay. Everyone is very friendly, but you may have to be willing to wait a little. I think like any new restaurant that opens, it takes a little time for it to become a well oiled machine. Great addition to the downtown Springfield area! The food was good, let me preface this with that. 4 stars for the food. However, the service is the reason this review is only two stars. We waited an hour for our food, while people who were seated next to us about twenty minutes after we sat down got their food after only ten minutes of waiting. The kicker was - one of them ordered the very same thing I did! The server did not come to see us in the majority of that time to explain what was taking so long. I understand things can happen, but he never offered an explanation until about ten minutes before our food finally arrived. He didn't check in on us for over 30 minutes. It was lunch, but it wasn't packed or overly busy, so there was no reason that he shouldn't have been checking up with us. The server for a nearby table checked on hers frequently, so why were we being ignored? He apologized for the wait, and we were not offered a discount or anything else for the inconvenience. read more

We stopped in Wednesday afternoon. We sat at the bar for half price appies. Half price doesn't start until 5 and we were there a bit earlier than five so no half price. Our original bartender was very nice and attentive but her shift ended and we got a different bartender and she seemed that she just didn't want to be there. We ordered the "sautéed" pierogi's with the polish sausage. When it came, the Polish was kind of warm and the three pierogies were so deep fried there was barely any stuffing in them. When we mentioned it to the bartender she said that's the way they are cooked but that's not how they were cooked the last few times there or as it was described in the menu. Went back for sandwiches, appetizers and drinks. It was a busy evening they had sitting outside on the sidewalk sat inside, the owner was there actually running food and working in the kitchen which I like to see and also was doing table visits food was excellent service is good I will be back. read more

Arlington's is amazing! Their food is really good (check out their dipping sauces - they have a lot!), the building itself had character and their private room upstairs is perfect for special events. The only complaint that I would have is parking availability. There is street parking but you might need to hike a bit. read more

First time I went the food was great. Today I ordered a wrap and got a sandwich instead. And the tater tots were not hot, they were overcooked and dried out and a very small portion. The decor is fun. Don't miss looking upstairs before you leave. Staff couldn't have been friendlier and prompt and good. I really liked the pulled pork sandwich, especially with the cole slaw on top. I would have given it just under 4 stars. Had dinner here tonight. Love the interior of this old favorite spot. 4 of us enjoyed our food... Rosemary Chicken skewers were excellent but only 3. Perogi's were tasty with the sausage. 3 of us had different burgers with the tasty and black and Bleu being favs. The explosion was supposed to have fried egg and buffalo sauce and maybe bacon. It only had a very very salty fried egg. The beef was high quality but definitely lacking some of what the description listed. I'd go back but wouldn't order that again. I love Arlington's! My hubby and I try to have a lunch date once a week (we both work downtown) and we usually end up at Arlington's! I have also eaten here several times with girlfriends and once with a larger work party. I have never been disappointed. Bill, who always greets us, goes above and beyond as greeters/seaters go and is very friendly. I can't say I've tried a lot....I usually stick to one thing....the "Tangy" black bean burger which comes with house made chips....which I love! My hubby usually gets a wrap which is always good. Recently, I made a lunch reservation for 12 co-workers and I but asked Bill what the soup of the day would be, since I would be having extensive orthodontics work done the day before our reservations and would probably not be able to "chew". He checked...came back and told me on the day we would be in, they would have "two" soup specials because they were making split pea soup just for me on that day so I could eat! I thought this was a very nice gesture! The split pea soup was very good and everyone in my party was very pleased with what they ordered. Stopped in for lunch on a cold Feb Sat and it was busy. I like the décor - too many TV's for my taste, but its a pub. One review touted their craft beer selection - it is not that extensive, but my husband really liked the Two Brothers Special Amber. I liked that $5 mimosas with all the flavor options. We had Rueben sandwiches - tasty and buttery - good stuff. Crispy fries and decent pub chips. For lunch I wouldn't call this a gastropub - nothing out of the ordinary on the menu - just solid and decent. read more
