We chose this game specifically for the drone show. I really liked where we sat behind home plate in the MM section, row 19, seats 1-3. Choosing the aisle was perfect for moving around easily, and the seats in that section have backrests and are fully covered, which is a lifesaver on hot days or days that it rains. It was especially nice when it hit 85°F and eventually started raining during our game. The seats in the cheaper section are just bench seats. You also don't pick your seat in advance. It's a don't pick your seat in advance. It's mostly first come first serve. The seats at the very end of the horseshoe seating did not have safety nets extend to that area. So when falls flew off from the stadium, you are at a great risk of being hit by one. At our game, since there weren't very many people, the kids were out there with their baseball gloves catching all the balls that flew over. However, on a day that the stadium is full, I do not think I would choose those areas to sit. The seats in our section were OK and a lot better than other stadium seating that I've been to. Next time I plan to bring a seat cushion. Aftersitting on a hard surface for about 2.5 hours game can be a little uncomfortable. I'd also bring a personal battery fan for the heat. One thing I was least impressed by was the cleanliness of the bathrooms. We arrived early before game time and were some of the first people there and they were already disgusting. If you're like me and hate spending money on bottled water. You can bring one per person factory sealed bottle. The one I ended up buying their cost of about$4.50. Food prices have gone up overall, they do still have quite a bit of items under five dollars. Some of their hot food items that are under five dollars were hot dogs and corn dogs. One the plus side, parking was completely free and incredibly easy compared to a major league stadium. It's definitely a wonderful, fun local thing to do right here in Springfield!

Pleasant vendors and usually very clean bathrooms. Parking is sometimes a chore, but that's to be expected. Great atmosphere, clear section labeling for seating and friendly staff. And what a college football game it was with the Fighting Illini defeating the Cornhuskers 31-24 in overtime, which ended up being my go ahead on purchasing a ticket. I walked to Memorial Stadium which sat no more than a mile away from my hotel, the Homewood Suites by Hilton Champaign-Urbana. I recommend Homewood Suites for hotel stay if you are visiting for any Fighting Illini sporting events because of its distance. As a die-hard Fighting Illini football fan along with it being my very first home game attended; it felt surreal walking through Grange Grove gate of Memorial Stadium and right by the statue of the Galloping Ghost! It will be a memory that I forever cherish! It was easy navigating around Memorial Stadium to locate my seat. I loved where it was located, even though it was hard at times to see over the standing fans most of the time. Off to the side, I did have a good visual of the video display when I could not see over standing fans. I always love that the video display shows the results of other games being played. Prior to heading out for the Fighting Illini football game I was tuned into the Colorado Buffaloes vs Utah Utes football game. And the video display gave me the chance to see the updated score of that game. The stadium atmosphere at Memorial Stadium was fantastic! It was much different attending rather than watching on television because I was able to chant either "I-L-L or I-N-I" and boo the opposing team which was Michigan State. And my seat was located near the end zone where the cannons were fired post the Fighting Illini entering the field, as well as after each scoring point. I never got the chance to see the Fighting Illini marching band perform until now. Their performance was a sight to see during half-time and it made the time go by faster. In between timeouts and play calling, there were acknowledgements of the accomplishments of student athletes and anyone part of the University of Illinois. Selfie cam kept everyone in attendance involved and tuned in to the video display. Seems like the best way to get captured is to wear something out of the normal, or simply just standing out maybe. I left within the final minutes of the fourth quarter, just to avoid the cluster of fans leaving after the game, plus I was hungry and cold. Since it was my first Fighting Illini game at Memorial Stadium I did not want to leave prematurely as I am known for, even with the Fighting Illini leading in points. After this game, I am very open to making my way down from Chicago, just to see my beloved Fighting Illini again at Memorial Stadium in Champaign being that this experience was enjoyable. ~ Good vibes coming your way ~ Thomas G

They host over 1000 teams a summer and are always updating the facility. People bring their own shade tents, like every other facility when its hot. They have a shaded playground for little kids and a pavilion as well for shade. They have the ELITE ALL-STARS event and the ALL-STATE event, two of the best weekends of the summer. I have attended many baseball games and tournaments at Lenz Complex and have always been impressed…read morewith the professionalism by those in charge. Everyone is friendly and willing to assist players, coaches, and fans with whatever they need. This is one complex that definitely put kids first. They have batting cages available for teams to use for hitting. Plus I have seen non-players taking advantage of the cages. They also have netting over some of the fields so fans do not have to worry about foul balls. They also have picnic tables, both covered and uncovered and a sheltered area near the playground where people can sit to get out of the sun. The umpires treat all players and coaches with respect and expect the same back. They know the rules and their expectations and do everything in their power to keep the games on time. The umps are also very fair and reasonable whether it be calling balls/strikes or plays on the bases. The fields are all well maintained and are playable during inclement weather. Lenz Complex has several different sized fields for the different age groups. Their fields are used for both baseball and softball. They keep water coolers in each dugout during tournaments and make sure all coolers have fresh water for the players and coaches. Lenz Field has one of the best concession stand hands down. The food is delicious and you get a lot when asking for chicken salad or bar-be-que. In fact you need a fork to eat either sandwich. Anything from their grill is top notch and again delicious. They have a variety of snacks and drinks and all are reasonably priced. The Lenz Complex is located within a mile of shopping and eating, but I would highly suggest you eat at the concession stand because as stated before the food/drinks is awesome and reasonably priced. The complex also has a hospital across the street which is good in case of an injury. Plus there is a medic on site for all tournaments. I would suggest you get your ball team signed up to play at the Lenz Complex. You won't be disappointed! I definitely give Lenz Complex 5+ stars!

I was lucky to get free tickets from a friend, but then my friend and I had to pay for parking ($15; he drove separate). We were in the ADA section, so I can't really say how the seating part was. The sound was very good, as well as great access to concessions and restrooms. Beer was $10, which to me is cheap when it comes to a venue. I also had great service over the phone when I was reserving the section, and it turns out she was the one that waited on me at the Will Call window. It doesn't seem that bad of a place, as like any other - there are pros and cons. I mean, charging for parking always sucks. But I'm sure they don't have as many events as we all think they do. I have not visited the Family Arena for anything non-concert-wise, so I don't know how it is for sports or whatever. I do like how the venue is in a somewhat isolated area. But that's about all I have today....

This is an amazing concert venue. Most of the seating is covered, there is enough space for…read moregeneral/standing room area by the stage, well-labeled seating in the front and stadium style seating in the back. I've been to see Counting Crows (back seating), Empire of the Sun (section B, floor left of the stage), and most recently Foster the People (section D, floor right of the stage) in concert and have never been disappointed. Of course, my personal preference are the floo4 seating but honestly, the back seats aren't bad either. They have staff that will help you find your seats with floor seating but the seats themselves are labeled with paper clearly denoting the seat number. The premises has clean bathrooms and plenty of stalls. They also have numerous bars. Some will have more drinks than others or better options. There are food trucks in the premises and some picnic seating if you would rather enjoy your food at a picnic table before the show starts. Parking is fairly organized but exiting the area can still be slow. They do have people directing traffic flow before and after the show. Overall, I enjoy coming here for concerts and can't wait until the next show!

The first time I ever came here was to see Benson Boone in 2024 and it was phenomenal. Tonight I saw Haircut 109, Adam Ant, & Squeeze and they were also fantastic! The sound quality at the small venue is really good and there isn't a bad seat in the house honestly. Everyone I interacted with that work there was very friendly and it's a very well run venue. The restrooms are even clean and the lines move quickly. I love the picnic table seating areas, and the fact that they have fun games like cornhole to play and area you can go to get away from the loud music if you need to, which I did not! LOL! It's also very easy to get out of the parking lot and I was home within 15 minutes of getting into my car. Highly recommend this venue.
