The actual vets are great, but good luck getting past the receptionist trolls. The last two times my pup had an infection and was vomiting blood they told me they could see me in three weeks. Not an expert, but don't think a dog who isn't eating and vomiting blood will survive that long? Zero compassion, my hope is if they are ever ill someone will be kinder to them than they were my pup. They lost four clients due to repeated bad experience with reception desk. I found a vet who's a bit further, but the entire team shows compassion for my dogs. I make the 40 minute drive from my house in order to use this clinic for my pets. I usually see Dr. Olson; she's so down-to-earth and very good at what she does! Kellie is rad and super responsive/helpful to my needs. Kristina treats me like family member whenever I'm in there. Frekles just had a dental and tumor removal and she was treated as if one of their own. The doctor was in contact with us at every turn during the procedure and the front desk was very helpful in getting answers when we called. I loved that they did not try to charge us for things we did not request nor up sale us on products we did not need. For example, Dr Grant said she should be ok from getting at her incision site, so instead of the cone of shame, she got the shirt of shame. I took my injured rabbit in for a second opinion and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and compassionate. We were seen by Dr. Olson and although the appointment was brief, I left there feeling much better about my rabbit's health and well-being. They staff who checked us out after seeing Dr. Olson were very caring and compassionate and treated us like we've been in their care for awhile. I really like the staff here and their prices are great. They are always nice when I bring my puppy in and they take care of him and make him feel calm, they do have treats which helps when they need to weigh him because he's a wiggle worm. Their staff is very prompt about getting next appointments set up, which is great too. We saw Dr Phillips for our first visit here, and she was so wonderful! We have three dogs and managed to get in and out in about an hour. She sat on the floor with our pups and was really sweet with them. Definitely got the feeling that she cares about her patients and pet parents. Over the years I have used a few different vets in the area. I am very happy with AVH. They all were very professional. Dr. Olson was very educational and taught me things about my dogs that other vets should have taken the time to do but did not. a full written summary of the visit was given to me in hard copy and emailed to me. The staff was prompt and very caring for my fur babies. I had both of them examined at one time and received a discount on the second exam for having a 2 for one visit. My dogs were obviously comfortable with the whole process. I especially liked the soft blanket placed on the exam table for my dogs comfort. Other vets just seem to let my dog slide around on the cold steel table. The prices were good as well. about 1/3 percent less than what my previous vet charged. All in all a good annual wellness exam and shots visits. I left with a clear plan going forward for optimal care for my dogs. Thank you! read more

What a wonderfully refreshing visit. Arlington Veterinary Hospital is definitely going to be the place to take our pups. We just moved here from VA .. like literally .. I pulled into my new driveway on July 1st. I hadn't had a chance to do an research on care for my dogs plus they had both been examined within the year so I didn't think it was necessary. Well .. when you aren't prepared something always happens. Dante jumped off the bed one evening and yelped. It happened again the next day so that is when I decided I had to take him. Plus a sad shaking pup sitting at the bottom of the steps because it hurts him too much to climb them is not so good times. I did a search on Yelp (because that's what I do) for the best reviews on Veterinary care in the area. Yelp led me to Arlington Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Grant. She totally got it. And she didn't roll her eyes when I talked to her about Dante's food allergies (like every single other vet I've ever spoken to) that were based on blood work-up. We discussed the huge steps in veterinary care, holistic and otherwise. I will be taking the pups to Arlington Vet Hospital next month for some dental work. **Darn small dog problems!!** I highly recommend coming to see Dr. Grant for your pet's needs. Dr.grant and her assistants are amazing, my kitty has a bite i didn't know about for almost a week and when i finally got in to the vet they knew instantly what it was and what to do they gave me options as to what prescription cost worked best for me and didn't look at my cat as just a money sign (they also have the lowest exam fee around) like Most veterinarian offices that instantly go with the most expensive treatments.part of the reason my cat will continue going to arlington veterinary hospital my cat has seen dr.grant twice and each time has acted like he was at home even when he was in pain. My 1 year old bulldog needed to be spaded and this clinic was nearby. I called and had the best customer service. They were able to scheduled my dog to get spaded the next day. The process was quick and easy. On the big day, i was greeted with a warm welcome and the doctor was amazing. They also called when they finished with the surgery. I never had such a great experience at a vet clinic before. When we pick up my dog later that day, they gave us directions about the do's and don'ts for post surgery. We discovered AVH after becoming disenchanted with a Vet Clinic that we had been going to for 13 years that had a big turnover in both Vets and office staff. I am so happy to have kept a mailer Dr. Grant had sent out about a year earlier. We arrived at the Hospital, got a full tour of their beautiful area, and signed our 3 dogs up for exams. They were in need of different surgeries--one a dental that ended up including extractions and procedures to save teeth, another dog had a growth on her bottom eyelid. And, eventually, another pet needed a cancer growth removed. Through all of these procedures, we were very comforted by the care provided by Dr. Grant and her staff. These same procedures were overlooked by our previous Vet clinic. Dr. Grant also found one of our pet's who needed a change in her food due to allergies causing diarrhea that always hit at an unexpected time and had been ongoing for months. Her system has calmed down due to a simple change in food. We recently took our little Maltese/Yorkie mix in for dental cleaning and Dr. Grant and her able assistant Kellie found a mouthful of trouble which had happened since her last dental cleaning about 16 months prior. Dr. Grant and her staff are very proactive and I find Dr. Grant to be very knowledgeable in treating our pets. I have owned Cockers since 1989 and have been through with many surgeries and Vet visits with them and to many specialists, and from what we have been through since finding her Hospital, we are quickly learning about her knowledge of the different surgeries and assistance she has provided to our beloved pets. My husband's comment after we left the Hospital one day was, "I sure like that place!" It is beautiful, calming, and very clean. They are constantly adding more comforts for animals and pet owners. We were so lucky our incident occurred on a Saturday that Arlington Veterinary was open. Our dog had been in a scuffle over a toy and got stepped on by a much larger dog, cutting a big gash in his leg. We rushed in without an appt and they were able to accomidate us. We left with a stapled up dog within a relatively short time and went about our day. They also called to check in on him. If we lived nearby we would return. read more

Arlington Veterinary Hospital is far and away the best vet we have ever taken our pups to. We switched from another vet in town shortly after AVH opened last year and after our initial visit for booster shots, we will never leave. While we were there on our first visit we were given a tour of the whole hospital (it shares a building with a physical therapy outfit). I have never had a vet show kennels and operating rooms to me as a client before. I appreciated the transparency- knowing where our fur babies would be in the building and who would be watching them if we needed to bring them for anything more serious than exams and shots. The facility is beautiful and very clean. Lots of windows let in natural light, and there's a large grassy field right next to the building. More recently we've visited for a minor emergency and today for dental work on both of our doggies. The cost for services was average, but the service was really over the top wonderful. Dr. Grant is soft spoken and great with our dogs (the skittish former stray and the most territorial and poorly socialized doxie on the planet). She thoroughly explains everything about what she's doing and why, even sharing X-rays, rationale behind days why dental work is not performed on certain days of the week, details of lab results (as opposed to "everything is fine"), and before/after photos. The staff are very friendly and also wonderful with animals. They are meticulous about documentation (our doggies' photos show up on our paperwork), and offer prompt assistance by phone and in person. During the dental work, I was called several times with progress updates. So nice to not have to be worrying all day about how it's going. I have felt very good about taking my pups here, but this type of thing is what compelled me to write a review: not only did we get exceptional care at a reasonable price, our babies each got a "certificate of bravery" and a personalized goodie bag to take home. I came to AVH because they have great reviews and came highly recommended. My boy saw Dr. Phillips for his first visit, and I have no complaints there. Unfortunately, it was verified that my baby's cancer had metastasized, so even though he was still in good spirits, it was clear that his time was quickly dwindling. I was pretty distraught, so I forgot to use the 50% off initial exam coupon here on Yelp. A few weeks later, and after a truly hellish week in and out of whatever vet we could get into, we returned to AVH to manage my boy's pain and figure out what our options were. We saw Dr. Grant and my fears were confirmed; we decided that my boy's time had come, but I wanted to do it in our home, so they loaded him up with pain meds so he would be comfortable. At no time was I rushed at this appointment, which I truly appreciated because I was having an awful time trying to pull myself together, as my sweet boy was only 5. As for myself, I too had been in and out of the hospital, as well as off work and paying for numerous vet visits, so funds were extremely tight. So I asked if I could use the 50% off exam fee that I'd forgotten from the previous/first visit, and the owner, Dr. Grant, said that since it wasn't my first visit I couldn't use it. Literally the most heart-breaking, gut-wrenching, worst day of my life and anywhere else would have let me use the stupid discount. We moved to Arlington a year ago and I knew that I definitely did not want to drive to our last vet which was all the way down in Edmonds. I also have a tight schedule so I waited until the day of to call in for an appointment. They were able to get me in the same afternoon. I arrived about 15 min early expecting to fill out multiple forms but instead they whisked me away to the office they use specifically for cats so cats don't have to deal with all doggy smells that may cause even more stress. The office is only 4 months old and very modern and clean. The vet tech and the doctor were very professional and thorough. The doc was very conscious that I was trying to be cost effective with my 14 year old cat and gave me several possibilities and recommendations. I didn't proceed yet bc I had to discuss with my hubby bc it's his cat. They told me that they wouldn't charge another exam fee if I brought the cat back for the recommended blood work. Sweet! I used the yelp 50% off exam discount and also had a $10 blood sugar test on the cat. The entire visit was only $35! I have spent A LOT more at vets where I left not satisfied with my visit at all. This business has won my loyalty and I even got referral cards for my neighbors with the 50% off discount too. They also told me that they try to leave room in the day for emergencies too so I know they will always be able to meet the needs of my cats. Love it! I highly recommend this business. I wish i could give Dr.Grant and her staff more then a 5 star review. They are truly amazing with the care and love that they show there patients. My dog (who is a pitbull and they just love her there) has had ear problems for most of her life and every vet i would bring her to they'd just want to give me antibiotics and call that good plus my dog never liked any of those vets until i brought her to AVH and Dr.Grant has done everything that she could within my budget to try and solve the ear problems unfortunately she shakes her head to much and that caused a hematoma in one of her ears but Dr.Grant was able to fix it up after a quick surgery. Then jump forward a few months and she gets the hematoma in the other ear, she is 11 and going back under really stressed and scared me, then i talked with Dr. Grant and she reassured me that if she did not feel safe doing that then she wouldnt put surgery as an option. needless to say my dog is doing just fine now and its all thanks to Dr.Grant and her amazing staff.
