Take elevator in garage to level 2 there is a pedestrian bridge to Ross. Tip: You can access Rhodes from Ross but its quicker to get off at level one and walk outside. I was going to Rhodes. Check in is easy. Turn right at the info booth and you will see the registration room. They will log you in and then walk you to your next floor or department for your procedure. You kind of feel like you have your own tour guide. Waiting rooms were clean. They had reclining seats in some of them. The secretary at endoscopy was not at her station for five minutes and people who came in after me then got checked in before me Found that irritating. Plus they just left my stickers on her desk... for all to see. pretty sure that is a HIPPA violation. I didnt like my stickers abandoned on an empty desk. The person scheduled in front of me was late so I got a room 45 min early! Yay me. Tip: always get to these appt times promptly or early.... That person is going to be sad they were late. Staff was great. I need filtered IVs due to a heart condition and that was available and checked on by both anesthesia and my surgeon/doctor. Felt my heart safety was very well cared for. Procedure was explained thoroughly. Dr Hooper was personable, and answered any questions I had thoroughly without rushing or making me feel silly for having questions. Procedure went smoothly. Seems cancer free, thats a good thing. Now just waiting on stomach biopsies. If you ever need a thorough, competent and kind doctor to determine if you have ulcers/stomach cancer... I highly recommend Alexander Hooper at OSU.

Before I going to say how deeply angry I'm about this OSU Urology Dept I have to give thanks to…read morethose employees who cared & tried to help my son with his kidney stone. Doctor Creagh Boulger at OUS East treated my son with vigilance when my son came in bleeding dark red blood & in tremendous pain. He restored the Opioids for the pain which is rated worst than childbirth. Included was a Cat Scan to make sure his kidney wasn't totally blocked & treated my son with Autism with dignity. Garin from the Patient Response Team listened to my concerns & it seemed to me that he was going to try hard to get better treatment for my son. It is possible that he had an influence as instead of waiting until May 21 for Mike's treatment they removed it on May 12th. Doctor Matthew Lee was the kind Doctor who stepped up to the plate. The practice of waiting so long to treat something as painful as a stone is unconscionable. Mike suffered so much during this ordeal from his pain, his Autism and because he couldn't work his full time job. I don't understand what caused this whether it was the industry which causes people to often declare bankruptcy in order to obtain health care. We have the most expensive health by far than the rest of the Industrialized world such as Germany for example which provides Universal health care, out lives us & those who have job pay about 1/2 what wee pay here. Every time I myself suffered from kidney stones the Medical team would give the patient 4 to 5 days to pass it and it it wasn't passed in that time they would go in and remove it. Mike will avoid OSU if he is ever to get the stones again. And in most cases such as mine he will eventually have another attacks.

However, the outpatient part here has been nothing but amazing. Terra is an office manager here and has made the experience so seamless, setting the true expectations from the beginning. This place is a joke and i cant imagine if the workers are not wanting to help family members see a patient what are they doing to care for them!!!! I am so frustrated with this place. It's been almost a week and we have heard nothing back from a case worker or anything. Does anyone know of the head person I can get in touch with because this is crazy how am I supposed to know if my loved one is ok when no one is trying to help me or talk to me!!!!

Extended medical care in a hospital setting, beyond the time limit to be in a normal "emergency"…read morehospital. The staffing is questionable on their professionalism, dedication, coverage, personality, fluency in English, etc. There doesn't seem to be any sense of urgency in the staff to check on a call light. Random disappearance of all staff from halls, desks, rooms, no trace of them. Are they all in staff meetings or on break? More action on their phones than with patients. S-L-O-W response to requests for most anything. There are a few FRIENDLY, STELLAR, WONDERFUL and PROFESSIONAL staff. Get to know who they are! Many seem to be there for a paycheck only. Questionable "help" for patients, not real strict on following Dr. orders for medications or followup of X-rays or scans or PT OT or speech therapy schedules. Very hit or miss. Hard to tell sometimes who staff are or what their role is... Bad about displaying ID's or introducing themselves to the patient or visitors in the room.

Understand this caveat, NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT PHYSICAL VIOLENCE OR ABUSE. They say unnecessary or disrespectful things all the time. However, when I told one these wonders how I felt, she went crying to the "nurse in charge" saying I yelled at her. The one I had was getting on my nerves and when I told her, she went crying....I wasn't feeling well! I was in the f!@#ing hospital! They put my heart into A FIB, I was uncomfortable as hell, and when I asked this snowflake a question she didn't stop talking long enough to listen so I got louder and then she went flying out of the room, so upset, the poor thing! As I was going down to a procedure to shock my heart into a normal rhythm, snowflake's buddy, nurse in charge Ratchet, came to confront me....as I am going down to a f@#$ing procedure....."you can't yell at nurses." WTF!! You know what I did? I got my heart shocked back into a correct rhythm, I packed up and left! I found the only nurse I had during 9 days that made some sense, I packed my stuff and just told them what I thought all the way out the door. For 8 long days I put up with weird women acting like they were a nurse. When did they become so freaking sensitive that even when they f@#$ up, which is often enough, I have to say, " Sure snowflake!!! Please don't let it bother you a bit that my heart has been in an irregular beat for nearly 24 hours! Sure snowflake, I'm just the patient who has had to put up with weird women pretending to be a nurse. Sure snowflake! I'm only in pain and uncomfortable from yesterday's procedure that shot wires through my groin to shock my heart into an abnormal beat! Sure snowflake!! I just got done telling you all about my experiences with your snowflake buddies! Don't mind me, I'm only the patient who has had to put up with inappropriate questions, grabbing my arm while I'm in a deep sleep, and asking to a grown man, "what are you doing?" when I was trying to trim my toe nails. Who TF are they to be worrying about my hygiene habits? Yeah! I wrote a narrative that I was going to give to nurse in charge Ratchet but I didn't because I would be leaving soon. OSU has LOTS of PR problems. What would any of these snowflakes do if someone yelled at them in the grocery store? I can tell you right now snowflake, all that privilege they throw around in the hospital won't flush in the real world. This is a heart hospital. Do you any of you think for a NY minute you can get over yourselves and understand that the patient isn't feeling well and your privileged, snowflake status and being so enabled to be a MF ing snowflake isn't helping any of that. Just sayin.
