Amazing Services! Melissa served as our Day of Coordinator for my husband and I's wedding in April…read more2024. Pre Booking: When we initially chatted, Melissa made me feel super comfortable and she cultivated trust. I had no hesitations and we went ahead and booked her. What stood out was her commitment to her clients and how much she cares about her work. Leading Up to the Wedding: We did a final venue tour about a month out where we went over questions and site details with the venue coordinator. It went really well and Melissa guided us in thinking through final decisions based on her expertise, but did an incredible job at prioritizing our needs and vision. I put together all of our contracts, tablescapes, and details of who would be bringing what to the wedding in a folder for her so there wouldn't be any surprises for her. Day Of Wedding On the day of our wedding, Melissa took care of all of the details which included overseeing set up of both the ceremony and reception areas at our venue, being the contact person for our vendors, and ensuring we stayed on schedule with our photographer and for the wedding. When I arrived to the venue, she asked a few questions to confirm details and then sent me off to finish getting ready. I ended up doing significantly less work than I thought day of thanks to her! She was so incredible to work with and she ensured that we could enjoy our wedding day together and not have to worry about little details. As an event planner myself, I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking at ways to ease stress and enjoy their wedding day! Having Melissa as your Day of Coordinator is worth the investment.

During our wedding day, she was always around to handle and resolve any unplanned issue that came up. She made prompt decisions. We thank Lina and her team wholeheartedly because Lina made the day PERFECT for us.

She'll sell you a dream, call it "Luxe", charge a premium and deliver cheap, tacky, DIY decor and she'll change it without asking. Her contract protects her from any accountability. Not satisfied? Take it up with the vendor, who you have zero contact with during any planning or ordering. She'll offer credit for future services! Because that's what you want from a person who didn't fulfill their end of the contract, right? I checked her Instagram, I loved everything I saw. She has beautiful dessert displays, that are themed with color, decor, florals. A variety of pastries and candies. And she claims to have 10yrs of experience creating dessert displays. Expectations were high. She claimed to work with local bakeries to build these displays. Guess Walmart is considered a local bakery, right? What we got was a rushed, sloppy display of cookies and mini cupcakes in various shades of brown. All piled onto wood crates. Nothing that showed she had experience. Nothing like what she has posted on her Instagram. She sure didn't post our dessert display. One thing I asked before anything, because I noticed that a lot of her events are bridal, wedding-centric. I asked if she was able to do the complete opposite end of the spectrum. We asked for full on color-drenched Purple! Red accents and gold for sparkle. Asked for floor to ceiling purple drapes. We were going for WOW! Venue is 21,000+ sq ft warehouse. We want to make it feel like we are not in a warehouse. She's got 15 years in the business, she should have a network of vendors to assist her. But she said she'd have to special order them.. it took me 15 minutes to find a local vendor with purple drapes to cover the venue. No need to special order. Instead, Lina waited 2 days before to tell us that her special order was "short". Short to me is 40%-50% of the total. She and her team decided for us to just use white drapes. About 10% of the drapes were purple. She did offer a $3,000 credit though! We paid $6,500 for draping alone. She claims it took her team 3 days to install them. Yet I was there when they came to hang them. It took roughly 4 hrs. We paid for fresh floral centerpieces. She created a "floral recipe" even. I thought wow that's impressive. I like attention to detail. Again, Purple should be the main color, Purple hydrangeas, purple stock, w/ red roses, minimal greenery in a glass vase, which we also paid for. We wanted guests to have a nice arrangement to take home. 128 to be exact. We got less than 40 large centerpieces w/ mostly white, filler flowers, lots of greenery and carnations, all on a plastic plate. these made them feel cheap and not worth the price we paid. The night before, I saw two crates of assorted bud vases and bunches of fresh flowers. I knew then that she had cheapened out on the flowers and was going to throw those together the next morning. I was right. Her and/or her staff, threw a bunch of flowers in bud vases attempting to fill the gaps where larger arrangements should have been. I could have done that myself! A common thread in the stories I've now read about Lina is she stops communicating with her clients, after going through texts and emails I'm reminded that she did ghost us for a bit. I didn't pay it much mind because we had communicated our needs very clearly. But also the week leading up to the party she would not talk to me directly. Her whole model is that she's there to help you every step of the way and she's "a shoulder to lean on" When I needed her the most she would not even text me back. We asked for food vendor quotes. We never got any. We ended up getting our own caterer. We asked her to help get a mariachi, but she lagged so we found one ourselves. We asked her to get us two photographers and a videographer, she waited until two days before to say she knows a guy. By that point we were not comfortable giving her anymore money. Contractually did she do the bare minimum. Yeah. Did I thank her for what she did, yes. Because I was raised right. I wasn't going to point out everything that was wrong, that she didn't fulfill. The event was over, what was she going to do? Offer another credit? Apologize? I was just glad the day was over. She got lots of compliments and kudos from guests because they did not know what I know. That it was supposed to be much more than just nice. It was not $24,000 worth of nice. I have done events on a smaller budget and had it look way better. But be the judge for yourself. I'll show you what we paid for vs. what we got..

For starters my husband and I planned our entire wedding in a long distance relationship, so all of…read moreour communication with Jacqueline was via phone or email. She recognized that John and I lived 6 hours apart from day one and was really lenient about us getting schedules to her or not always being in immediate contact with her. We're a pretty relaxed couple and if things don't go exactly as planned, it's cool. I mean, wedding planning is no vacation, but when it came to the day of the wedding,Jacqueline made sure it was smooth sailing. So, to get to the day of the wedding, beginning at 4:00 PM we had one hour to set up (yes, one hour) all of our decorations, tables, chairs, etc...We gave her a spreadsheet of our family and friends with assigned tasks and the order we thought things should be set up in. When John arrived at the venue at 4:30 to make sure all was well he said there were only a couple 'not so urgent' things to be done. So basically she was able to direct our 'volunteers' to set up the entire wedding in 30 minutes. Dang, right? Jacqueline and her assistant made sure our ceremony was flawless. The family, bridesmaids & groomsmen, flower girls, and me and dog made it down the aisle with no problems. Once the vows were said she made sure John and I got through our 20 minute photo shoot (we did family photos prior to the ceremony to save time) quickly, then made our grand entrance. After the grand entrance we began cocktail hour. So while John and I shmoozed, Jacqueline seemed to just move through the crowd, checking the games area, beverage station, checking the tables, making sure the food was ready in time, making sure John and I were comfortable, really just everything. Right on schedule Jacqueline made sure all the guests found their seats for dinner. This was a scary part for me personally because dinner is when toasts happen....and wacky family members can impose quickly. Right off the bat Jacqueline made it clear she would deter anyone trying to snatch the mic to make a surprise toast (It was like she secretly knew my mother is bat shit crazy). She made sure there were only the 2 toasts from the Best Man and Maid of Honor, then we got to say our thank yous. After dinner and toasts we moved to dancing and that was basically the end of our evening. We did a small cake cutting, but no bouquet toss or anything else. Overall, Jacqueline was organized and timely. She made sure our evening proceeded the way we wanted it to. She took care of us and we appreciate her so much! Finally, I have to commend Jacqueline on her superb ability to communicate with the DJ. Not needing to worry with speaking to the DJ really made it a smooth night!

Immediately we knew that we wanted to work with her as our day of coordinator. Hiring her was the best decision we made for our wedding and put less stress on us. She was always available to answer any and all of our questions, whether it was by email, by phone, or meeting in person. She gave great ideas throughout the wedding planning process and offered her suggestions to make things run smoother. This is actually one of the many things that I really appreciated about working with Bernice. She worked closely with us at drafting our timeline and incorporating the many activities of our day, getting information about our envisioned set-up and design, and helped with our vendors set up the day of.
