I thought it was a scam for a long time, because what legitimate business would continue to harass people after frequent requests to stop the calls? Turns out, not a scam, The Mortgage Company is just banking on the fact that holding them accountable for their violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act is a giant hassle. Lucky for me, Alex at the Chapman Avenue location provided me with enough information to establish that it's an illegal business practice from a real business, so now I have some recourse. Would have been better if he had not repeatedly called me to tell me he knew I was home alone and there was nothing I could do to stop him from calling. I truly appreciate being given the info I needed to seek the fines established as penalty for the behavior outlined in this post. If you are looking to buy a home, never apply with a lender who will sell your info to this garbage company. You might have to change your phone number to get away from them.
