I only hope the owners can see this. On Friday, July 11th, I managed to tip my 1974 Honda 550 on a sloped parking lot, It broke the clutch lever, and we were miles from anywhere. Besides, who is going to have a clutch lever for a 50 year old motorcycle? Well, we called Arkport Cycles and they said they had a universal lever. When we got there, they had it waiting on the counter, all set to install. But of course it was not universal to the connections of 50 years ago, and I thought I was stranded 100 miles from home and my family road trip was ruined. That is where Traci, Ashley, and Jake stepped in. After trying several options and not finding a fit, Ashley mentioned that she had her own parts bike and may have one more lever to try. Well, with Jake giving guidance and having the full attention of both Traci and Ashley, against all odds the lever was a perfect fit and we were able to continue a very important ride. I have been riding for 60 years and have visited many motorcycle shops. There is not another one anywhere that would invest the time and empathy that these 3 people did. Despite being quite busy they never gave up, and I can never thank them enough. I highly, highly recommend this business read more

If you happen to find yourself broken down in bumfuck nowhere on your motorcycle, you're better off wheeling yourself over to a local and asking them if they know anything about bikes than going here. They are scammers and don't care at all about whether or not your bike actually runs before sending you out the door, and will come up with the most ridiculous excuses on top of it. After spending 11.5 hours (allegedly) and $900, we still ended up with a bike that didn't run more than 10 minutes at a time. The supposedly brand new battery didn't hold a charge after running for over an hour. After FINALLY getting it back to Rochester and taking it apart myself, I'm even more sure these guys didn't even open this bike up. The gasket is still the original one on there from the 70's, which is listed on the invoice as "things they fixed". The invoice quotes an hour to change the oil. It doesn't even take an hour for me to change the oil in my car and I'm not a "professional" mechanic, let alone a bike a fraction of the size and volume. They clearly have no clue how to do anything with the fuel line because there was visible air and particles in it from the get go until I flushed it myself. Their excuse? I needed to FLUSH MY OWN FUEL TANK A COUPLE TIMES after they put tank liner in it. They did absolutely none of the work, just sprayed some starter fluid into the exhaust, kicked it up, and threw it out the door. On top of that, despite calling several times looking for a refund, they tell me that it's because my bike is old and it sat for the winter and they wouldn't consider a refund because "the work had been done." Not that they would actually ask the mechanic. They'll just look at what was quoted on the computer and call it. Don't waste your time on these small town, inexperienced, con artists. They have no accountability and can only speak to "what the invoice says in front of them." They make excuse after excuse, blaming their failings on employees they already fired. And if you take the time to explore their collection of antique and vintage bikes upstairs, do so with the knowledge that they acquired those bikes by overcharging their client so much that they couldn't afford to fix it. Or they flat out lied to them and told them that their bikes were "beyond fixable because they're old." read more

Arkport Cycles - Arkport Cycles - Motorcycle Dealers Near Me - Hornell, New York

Thanks so much for the really quick service on my 1986 Gold Wing. I'm very happy that Arkport was suggested, thinking that there was only one place in western NY where I could take my bike, and that place wouldn't touch it until next winter! You guys were so quick to get it done and it was so good to be able to ride it back home knowing everything was fixed as it should be. I went for another long ride today and am once again loving this bike." read more

Ok so I'm almost never one to complain and maybe this covid crap has everyone's stress levels maxed but I almost lost it with my experience at Arkport cycles the other day. Called ahead to get a battery for my 883 Sporty because it's a 60 mile round trip to Arkport. I know, I know my 883 is a wimpy little bike and not deserving of the respect the big bikes get but hey I need a battery what could go wrong? I didn't even care that much that it put a dent in my Trumpster stimulus check to the tune of $138. I gets it home, try to install it and nope...doesn't fit. Why?? because it's a battery for a goddam softail that's why. So I call back and after being on hold for a further annoying amount of time on my only FREAKING day off I find out, yes we have the correct battery, being apologetically assured that the error would be made right, perhaps with a token discount. So I sends my spitfire "little lady" on another 60 mile round trip and she is told it's an even swap and a discount for the inconvenience of THEIR mistake wasn't happening! She asks to see the GM who further declines any compensation for my pain and suffering, additionally failing to take full RESPONSIBILITY for the error, claiming that they are VERY SHORTHANDED DUE TO THE CORONA VIRUS, blah, blah, blah. WHAT THE F*CK EVER me says, let me just get this battery in my wimpy Sporty so I can get a ride in before it FREAKING rains again for a week and WTF do I next discover?? NO CONNECTING BOLTS TO THE BATTERY TERMINALS INCLUDED!!! Off to NAPA for two 6mm bolts and that's another f'ing story about being annoyed for another day! All in all Arkport cycles is an AWESOME store, it's just that this GODDAM corona contagion has me JUST A LITTLE STRESSED OUT!! And last but not least? ITS THE NEW NORMAL!! Knees in the breeze folks. read more

I went to Arkport Cycles like I had 3 times before, looking at pre-owned Harleys and found one that fit my needs perfectly. I met up with salesman Brian who was more than willing to help me with my purchase. I got approved for my loan that day and the bike was stored for me until I can pick it up. I am 60yrs. old and have never been treated so well with any dealings in my life. Bonnie was superb with my paper work and was kind as anyone could be. All the staff was great, I will always be a faithful customer of John's great business!! Thanks everyone at Arkport Cycles! read more
