I went to Baker Eye Institute - don't ever go. Trust me!…read more I had a chalazion removed from my right eyelid and had a terrible experience. Because of my anxiety Dr Baker said he could remove it at the surgery center in Conway. He said I wouldn't feel a thing. From the moment I got to the surgery center I was telling the staff that I was extremely anxious. They took me back and put an IV port in my arm. They said to be sure and tell the nurse anesthetist about my anxiety. I was in a room, by myself, for over an hour. Nothing to distract me. The nurse anesthetist came in and I told her about my anxiety and she assured me that I wouldn't know or feel anything and that she would be sure to come in a few minutes early to make sure I was "out". She came in, gave me 6mg of versed (I believe) and as soon as she moved the doctor was there. He said, "How are you doing?" and I replied, "Extremely anxious". He then proceeded to start working! Turned my eyelid inside out, etc. The whole time I'm saying (basically) "OW, OW!" and clutching the table so I don't swing at him! I waited until my follow up appointment so that I could discuss this with him. His response, "Well, it's over now. I'll see you in a year." I drove an hour to the center and now have a bill that is almost $1000! If I had known that I would feel, and know, everything I could have had this done in the office. Actually, I would have gone to another doctor! This guy has no "bedside manner" and appears to be in this just for the money! My surgery was on August 18th, and I decided to wait to address this until I was in person at my follow up appointment, yesterday, September 16th, instead of going straight to a negative review. I wanted to speak to him about the experience. But, you know, "It's over now". He doesn't give a rip. I will NEVER recommend this guy!

Dropped in with a bridge pad that I had ordered on Walmart Website, the Manager was very pleasant…read moreand receptive to my request for installing the pad. In only a very few minutes, She returned with my glasses fully repaired with the new pad. Then, I asked Her to repair my other pair which were twisted out of shape. She agreed and offered to replace the bridge pad on that pair of glasses. A few minutes later She returned from the back with them straight and with new pad. Now, get this; two repairs, 2 bottles of glass cleaner with 2 cloths, $12.51. Remarkable, very pleasant experience! Thank You!

They said yes to that. Then I got a appointment the next day due to a cancelation. I had my wife call in my insurance info and they told her that the doctor i was scheduled with would accept that. She asked if I could get innwith one that did, and THEY TOLD HER I DIDN'T WANT TO DO THAT. They had no right to say that to her without actually confirming with me, since I made clear at the beginning I did, in fact, want to use insurance. So I got there and they didn't tell me I could take my script elsewhere for less expensive service, they did not direct me to frames that might be covered or basically give me any options besides leave empty handed or buy $400 frames out of pocket. Then I left a bad review, and went into their office to complain, and also ordered contacts. I went into a back office where I was harassed by 2 women who blocked the exit, effectively called me an idiot for not understanding how their backwards practices worked and after asking to leave 3 or 4 times and nearly being in tears from a panic/anxiety attack, they finally let me go. Since when does and eye doctor have the right to hold someone aga I not their will, just because they left them a bad review?

I called back and asked for a supervisor and she hung up again. I went down there and asked who hung up on me she said she did. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said she was the manager and I didn't leave she was calling the cops. The other guy there asked what was the problem I told him I was 3 months from my eye appt still waiting on my trial pair of contacts. She threatened to call the cops again if I didn't leave.
