Initially I was pricing out A/C splits and portable ACs ( which need to vent heat) and evaporative coolers which need open windows. None of these were good fits for the office. I then found 805 Shutters and Mike gave me confidence that a shade cover will help modify the temperature. The landlord and I were leaning towards selecting the honeycomb shades but opted to try the shutter shades that were recommended as they can withstand the heat better, hence last longer. Mike and his team member came out and installed the shutters very efficiently; and we were finally able to enjoy the space! Wish I found 805Shutters sooner so we could have utilized the upstairs as a great workspace For the past 3 years. Currently, the office staff are working comfortably and appreciate that the office space has been 'expanded' to accommodate more staff. -Jina / Office Mgr

This company blatantly violated the City of Camarillo's municipal regulations. According to the…read morecity's "Door-to-Door Solicitors Guide," if a residence displays a "No Soliciting" sign, solicitors must not conduct solicitation or leave advertisements without authorization. My home clearly has a posted "No Soliciting" sign at my front door. My security cameras show the representative paused, read the sign, and still left an advertisement at my door. By doing so, they ignored both my clearly posted instructions and the city's regulation that prohibits solicitation at homes with posted "No Soliciting" signs. If a business is willing to disregard local law and homeowner boundaries, I have no confidence in their professionalism or integrity. I will never use or recommend this company.

Kenny thoroughly measured all our windows, offered recommendations based on their location, and went out of his way to provide price comparisons to help us decide. While choosing Meridian was slightly more expensive than going with a big-box store like Home Depot, the customer service and attention to detail were well worth the extra cost, especially given their proximity and willingness to guide us through the entire process. I'm confident the blinds' durability will be maintained, as Kenny is nearby and available to assist with any future needs.

I had a disappointing experience with Garrett from Drapery Affair and Floor Store…read more There was first confusion about the appointment date. I had September 16 at 9:30 a.m. in my calendar, but when he did not arrive, I was told the appointment was actually scheduled for the 17th. When Garrett arrived, I asked if he would remove his shoes before walking through my home. He told me that, based on company rules and OSHA requirements, he had to keep them on because they are general contractors. I later verified that OSHA did not require that under the circumstances. I was so surprised by the response that I did not think to offer the disposable shoe covers I had available. If shoes must remain on, I would expect someone routinely entering customers' homes to carry booties. Before the appointment, I had already explained that I was specifically interested in top-down/bottom-up cellular shades, with insulation, light control, privacy, and ease of use being priorities. Despite that, a fair amount of time was spent discussing other window-covering options. There were also several operating mechanisms. Although Garrett described them, I did not feel they were demonstrated particularly clearly, and I repeatedly had to ask to see the options again. I was then expected to choose both the mechanism and the color before an accurate quote could be prepared, which felt like a lot to decide during one appointment for a whole-house project. When it was time to measure, Garrett suggested that I choose colors while he moved through the house and ADU measuring. I was not comfortable having someone I had just met walking through my home and property unaccompanied, so I went with him. Once the measuring was finished and I could focus on the samples, Garrett provided very little assistance with the color-selection process. He did not offer to hold up the swatches, compare colors, or provide much guidance, so I had to ask someone who was already working at my house to help me. While that person held the samples against the wall and I stood back to evaluate them, Garrett remained nearby on his phone and appeared disinterested and disengaged from the process. At times, he also stood uncomfortably close, which made the experience feel awkward rather than helpful. The person helping me was also present for portions of the appointment and observed some of these interactions. My overall impression was that Garrett had product knowledge, but I did not experience him as especially engaged or attentive in the consultative part of the appointment. I did not feel particularly guided through what was a fairly significant purchase. Garrett also mentioned that the business was started by his grandfather and is now run by his father and uncle. Normally, I would contact a company directly before posting a review, but given that family relationship, I did not feel that my concerns would necessarily carry much weight internally. I ultimately decided not to move forward with Drapery Affair and Floor Store and chose another company.
