I had heard about him from others and I think I had interacted with him previously, but I don't know for certain. Anyway, I told Tom what I was looking for, how I played and my age. Given my age and stated afflictions, he made a decision. Unfortunately, it was not a good decision. For my age, I am healthy and rather mobile. We went through a number of heads and shafts and he decided that these were the best for me. So I ordered them and they arrived and they didn't work at all for me. So I went back and explained and Tom says no problem let's try these instead. What he showed me were clubs that he plays with. And he let me play with his personal clubs, several times. I discovered that I like what his clubs hit like but needed a bit more stability. I played with steel shafts and graphite was always to light and iffy with me. So I reordered clubs (apex150 vs apex 300, the original clubs) and when they came with steel shafts, it was like the heavens opened up. Today, I got my first hole in one with a 7 iron, 145 yards over a bunker at the third hole at Silverbell. I have been playing with these clubs for about 4 weeks. Tom highly recommended the Callaway Opus SP wedges. He suggested a configuration that seemed difficult to get. So I went for 2 other Opus Sp wedges (52 and 58 S Grind) and they performed amazingly. I am 72 years old and play to about a 10 handicap. Since I am not competitive and hate watching people spend 5 minutes over their shot and only then to shank it, I play what ever holes are available. I would highly recommend Van's to people as they (Van's) are not always perfect, but they will always make it right for you. I have dealt with Tom, Carson and Gary and they were extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

After 1 week of having the clubs, he did not like them so he went to return them for another set. The manager told him that if he can't hit with those clubs, then he" might as well quit golf and take up tennis instead" and gave him a hard time about returning the clubs despite the 90 day return policy. Rude. That was 6 years ago and we hadn't been back since. Fast forward to now. My dad spent $1750 on brand new Rocket Ball golf clubs. The set was supposed to include an adjustment wrench for the driver, but when he got home it wasn't there. So, he went back to the store to ask for it since it was supposed to be included. One of the employees was incredibly rude saying that my dad was just trying to con them out of money. He said paperwork would have to be filled out and that he would have to do a complete inventory of the store to see if there was possibly 1 extra wrench that "might have been his". He gave my dad a really hard time about it. The wrench is $40 on its own and my dad just spent $1750 on a set that was supposed to include it, but apparently this idiot employee thought my dad was trying to scam him. Anyways, my dad sees the guy who sold him the clubs and tells him the story and that saleman runs to the back, grabs a wrench, and apologizes for the hassle. The other employee was left stunned, still trying to fill out paperwork. While this store does have at least 1 good employee, the other employees are a bunch of idiots. Don't waste your time here.

Oscar took the time to watch my dad hit a couple balls then spent the next hour with him going through the different clubs he thought might work best. The shipping carton had never even been opened. It was still taped shut exactly as it had arrived, with the paperwork still attached to the outside. At the store, the employee personally removed the original tape, opened the box, removed all the cardboard packing materials, and then took the golf bag out of the box and then the sealed clear plastic bag. It was obviously brand new and had never been used. What happened next was baffling. She proceeded to unzip pocket after pocket, reaching her hand inside and feeling around every compartment. I stood there through an exhaustive inspection of a golf bag that she had literally just removed herself from its original unopened packaging. The entire return took roughly 20 minutes. Then I discovered I was also not being refunded the $10.99 shipping charge. I questioned that because PGA TOUR Superstore advertises free standard shipping on qualifying orders over $99, and this was a nearly $300 purchase. The order shows that it was sent by "Guaranteed Ground," which is their 2-3 business-day service. I do not recall selecting or intentionally paying for expedited shipping. In fact, I ordered the bag on September 3 for a September 13 birthday, so I had ten days and would have had no reason to pay extra to receive it in two or three business days. I even pulled up my original order information at the store, but the $10.99 was still not refunded. I completely understand inspecting merchandise that has been opened or used. I also understand that upgraded shipping charges may be nonrefundable. But between the excessive inspection of a factory-sealed return and the unexpected shipping charge, the entire experience felt unnecessarily difficult and unfriendly. When I told my husband about it afterward, his response was, "Now you know why I don't shop there anymore." Unfortunately, after this experience, I understand exactly what he meant.

Not only was it cheaper at Big 5 but they were helpful and I was happy to support a local in-person business rather than Amazon or another online retailer. I think I got a better quality item at Big 5 for approximately 60% of what it cost through Amazon so I was very pleased! Not only did they have sporting goods stuff but also shoes, slippers, clothing, pool toys, and even some little plushie toys. I've become too accustomed to ordering stuff online but this was a nice reminder of the importance and convenience of having local brick & mortar stores too!

He asked me to trade in the Bar in question , gave me a 60 pct credit on original purchase price , I bought another used curl bar with a military Discount with the stops included. So a better bar , complete for Less net $$ than new collars on EBay. And I could make sure it all fit. He said he would deal with the other bar and figure out a way to make it right later on. I spent a long time looking at the workout clothes because that's what interests me a great deal. My husband decided to buy HOKA Bondi 9 shoes for work. Sadly, they didn't really work out for him and I came today to return them. The customer service is so friendly and fast. And when we bought stuff a few days ago we had to we were helped quickly. I was in the store about 30 minutes this morning and nobody came up to ask me if I needed any help or if I had any questions. Been interested in getting some pants for my husband, but I just didn't see what I wanted on the display. The store was clean and I'd be willing to go back again. I paid for six lessons that expired after 6 months. When I wasn't able to attend a lesson I always communicated that I couldn't attend they were very accommodating. But I had some unfortunate family events that made my attendance not possible. ( I live an hour away) . On top of all that my air conditioner quit the night befor lesson . So I alerted the Tucson store and they made feel like they were doing me a favor to extend my lessons beyond 6 months , even though I already paid for the lessons.

Here's the weird thing: I pull into the parking lot at 0700 and I'm getting passed in the lot by grandpa's in their Lincoln town cars and Camrys. They're doing 50 mph in the big parking lot racing for spaces. These old guys jump out of their vehicles before their car comes to a complete stop, they hop out, and in one fluid motion they lace up their sketcher extra wide spikeless, open their clic gear, toss their ping cart bag full of metal woods and wedges with iron covers on the cart and grimly hobble as fast as their reconstructed knees will take them into the proshop to be first off the tee box. It was the angstyest golf scene I've ever seen. But here's the thing. It's well run, the pro shop flows people thru, the starter pairs them up quick and the pace of play on a Friday morning at this high round count track was okay. 18 holes in 4hrs...not bad. Greens rolled true but look like they're recovering. Fairways okay, bunkers for sure need more sand and less clay but hey, it ain't Augusta. For sure worth a round but I might have caught it on a good day as it has the high potential to be a 6 hr round and if the staff changes I can see how you can hate the place...so go soon before anything changes!
