Although Tiina was not able to help with my particular project (the particualr type of damage that had occurred with my print was not repairable), she spent a significant amount of time with me not only educating me about the defect and why it wasn't repairable, but she also spent time with me on trying to determine how I might be able to replace my print, even helping me with some online research for it. She did all this after it was clear that I would not be able to hire her. Very fair price, wonderful to talk to, incredibly knowledgeable, and painstakingly meticulous work. Truly impressive art restoration. I'll spare you my search details, but I found Tiina after visiting pretty much every art restorer in the valley for a favorite 1880's painting of mine. Tiina easily stood out; she was personable, professional, had numerous other antique works in her studio, easygoing and straightforward. I was on a budget, and am VERY picky... she did a wonderful job, went out of her way to ensure it was exactly what I wanted. Plus, she charged me a very fair price (I actually went in expecting more). Since then, Tiina has done, oh, at least 15 painting restorations for me, late 1700's to ~1940s? I have lost count. Every new addition goes to Tiina's house as soon as it arrives, just for a look. Sometimes she says "oh, it will be fine" and other times, she recommends restoration. The end result - I am ALWAYS beyond satisfied. Tiina has inpainted small issues, impainted major losses, cleaned, relined, patched, pressed, addressed water damage, stabilized, and (our personal favorite) re-repaired all sorts of prior restorations - always fun, because you never know what they have actually done or what is under it! I would definitely call Tiina a talented artist in her own right... impressively so, in fact. One thing I love - whether my painting is a tattered $20 garage sale find or a $3000 steal from Christie's, she pays equally high attention to it. In fact, in my opinion, some of her most impresive work was bringing that poor $20 painting back to life. I inherited a beautiful 19th century painting from my grandmother, who was an antique dealer, and had an eye for beautiful things. When we moved across country, I decided to put the painting in the back of my car with nothing else around it so not to damage it. It worked great until we took it out and a helper poked a small hole in the canvas. After living with the painting for a couple of years, and trying to find someone that could restore it, a friend near Phoenix told me about Tina. When my mother died, I inherited an oil painting which had been displayed in her living room for years. We found a large 36x48 original painting (acrylic on canvas) at a second-hand store. We got a great deal on it due to a 1.5" rip in the canvas. We figured we could repair it ourselves "good enough" (since we got it for such a good price). The supplies to repair it were ~$30 and the task seemed a little out of our league. After reading other favorable reviews about Arizona Art Restoration, we took it to Tiina. Her repair was $110 and she was able to turn it around in a week, although we were in no rush. The result is fantastic. The rip is completely sealed and she even stitch-painted the seam so the repair is nearly invisible. The painting is prominently displayed in our home and we challenge people to find the repair. We are happy to recommend Arizona Art Restoration for a phenomenal repair job and excellent service! And we're able to keep our eyes open for "scratch and dent" original art that can be restored for a great price! read more
