If you enjoy fried, flavorful food and generous portions, this is definitely your kind of place…read more The setting is casual with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the service was fast and efficient. I ordered the calamari tacos, and the portion was huge. The plate came loaded -- tacos with melted cheese, a fresh salad, and a side of unique "spaghetti-style" fries. The calamari itself was lightly breaded and very tasty, and I really enjoyed the salad (super fresh and flavorful). The fries weren't my favorite, though, and overall the portion was so big that I ended up leaving quite a bit -- which felt a bit wasteful. My husband had the Alaskan cod tacos, and I actually loved that they were not breaded -- that's my personal preference. The fish tasted fresh, light, and really well prepared. Our daughter ordered the kids chicken taco, and honestly, it was excellent -- loaded with chicken, very flavorful, and clearly made fresh. We also tried the tres leches cake. The slice was large but for me it was a bit too sweet, especially with the caramel on top and the thick whipped cream layer. I know there are many variations of tres leches, and this one just wasn't my favorite. We also had a crab cake -- fried on the outside, soft and delicious inside. Overall, a solid spot with big portions, fast service, and lots of flavor. Just come hungry!

Here's what we noticed: - The inside is pretty nice, lighter inside than you would expect from looking at it on the outside because of the skylights. The paint inside is a little tired and there's some cobwebs, etc. around but it still had a nice atmosphere. The chairs and tables are a bit tired, but ok. - The menu is pretty broad, and the prices seemed pretty reasonable. - My wife and I decided to split two different meals, the Al Pastor Burrito (which was served with a small salad) and the combo plate of Sofa and Chili Relleno. The portions on both dishes were really good, such that we took half the burrito home for later. The food was very tasty! - Service was just fine, although it was a pretty quiet time at lunch on a Thursday. Bottom line: This is a solid Mexican place, better than some in the area. We'll come back again, maybe to get take-out next time.

He ordered menudo with the pigs foot and I ordered the chilequilles(?). Mine was yummy, yummy. Hubby thought the Bowl of menudo would've been larger though. He didn't want to add more than chili flakes and a little cilantro & onions because he didn't want to mask the flavor of the broth. It was delicious! And quite surprisingly filled him up with the amount of the serving. We will visit again the next time we're in the area.

Sometimes they get my order right, sometimes they forget the corn tortillas. I called, I'm working from home but I wanted my fix of menudo. I get there and no one is there. Apparently there is only one staff member working the lunch shift on a quiet Saturday at 1 pm on May 9th. Another woman was ahead of me but got tired of waiting and left. I waited patiently because I like their menudo, but only to find out that even though he confirmed Menudo on the phone he not heard soup. The person in the kitchen misgendered me and not having my order ready. This not a great local place and not LGTBQ friendly. And neither employee bothered to apologize. I do not recommend! You lost not just my business but my friends as well.

What really made it stand out was how easy the whole experience was. We called in the order ahead of time, walked over from the state park, and everything was ready for pickup without any hassle. Super efficient and perfect for a camping trip setup when you don't want to deal with a long wait or sit-down meal. The hostess was also incredibly friendly, which made the whole interaction feel welcoming from the start. Big bonus that they're dog friendly too--always appreciated when traveling with a pup. After grabbing food, we explored the nearby trails around the bay, which honestly made the whole experience even better. We'll absolutely be back the next time we're in Morro Bay.
