Today, I had an appointment with Dr. Argyle, and I have to say, I was genuinely impressed! They take dental cleaning back to basics, and let me tell you, it was a refreshing experience. No water spraying all over my face--just a thorough, meticulous cleaning that left my teeth feeling unbelievably smooth. I walked out of there with my pearly whites shining brighter than ever! Dr. Argyle also took the time to chat with me about my sleep apnea, which I really appreciated. He was incredibly informative and helped me feel at ease about moving forward with a guard to tackle my teeth clenching. Overall, it was a fantastic visit, and I'm looking forward to my next appointment! My oldest child was truly relieved by how quick and easy it was to have his filling taken care of. He mentioned that he didn't feel overly numb afterward and appreciated being able to talk comfortably right after his appointment. I have a daughter who has been suffering from TMJ issues for a long time. Over the past 2 years we have tried a few other TMJ DRs, consulting with her pediatric dentist and were never successful or trusting of finding someone who had a solution. We had consultations from several drs who "specialized" in treatment. There were a lot of "maybes" or "let's just try this" or "just trust us". Some wanted thousands of dollars, offered no explanation of treatment besides "I have special method?!?" We never felt good about beginning treatment with them. While she was away at college it got so bad she had to push her jaw sideways to get her mouth to open. It was painful and uncomfortable. Unfortunately we had a quick window between when she got home from college and when she left on a mission. We decided to try again to see if we could get her some relief as she would be out of the country for the next 18 months with limited access to specialized care. We talked to our oral surgeon at OMS of Utah and he referred us to Dr Argyle. From the moment we called the office, we knew this was the answer. Finally, someone who could explain the issue, had training, specialized knowledge and a reasonable treatment plan both in time and cost. We jumped right in, they were so gracious and willing to work with us in an extremely tight window. I can't tell you how pleased we both are the result has been amazing!!! She did the unlocking procedure and a week of a temporary retainer and now has a full retainer she wears at night. She has never locked again, has no difficulty opening her mouth and feels confident that this is the solution that will work for her and finally solve this issue. Thank you Dr Argyle and his amazing staff, specifically Gentry and Shannon who were so kind and guided us through each step. Thank you for easing a mothers heart and providing one less thing we had to worry about as she leaves for a mission. While I would have loved if this type of procedure was covered by health or dental insurance, the results were well worth the cost. I only wish we would have found Dr Argyle sooner!! read more

You don't know what you have until it's gone. I left Argyle Dental for an office closer to home, but have since regretted it. Dr. Argyle is not only a great dentist, he's a genuinely good guy. Dr. Argyle has been my dentist for many years now. 5 years ago I moved away from Syracuse but I still go to Dr. Argyle. He has great staff and he is a fantastic dentist. He has done several fillings and a few crowns for me. He mills his own crowns in the office so there is no need for a temporary while the lab makes it. Game changer! It is as good an experience as you can get when you have to go to the dentist. read more

Summary: If you're in need of only a general cleaning every six months, happy to pay well in advance for whatever the front office tells you to prepay, and have a schedule such that you can easily plan 3 months in advance for a part time dentist, then this may be an ok office to choose, in my opinion. Based on my 1 year interaction without this office: Pros: 1- the dentist, when available, is easy to understand and explains procedures in the appointment well. 2- the dentist has some pretty cool tech gadgets to mold fillings that fit really well (not sure if that is standard, but it was the first time I had seen the technology in a dentist office) 3- this dentist did note he has some expertise in aesthetic treatments, which is ideal for veneer pts. Cons: 1- high turnover ; there were new/replaced office staff and hygienists every visit, outside of the office manager, and the dentist. Biggest concern here was that any questions raised are deferred to the dentist or the office manager, making clarifications nearly impossible due to the bottlenecks created. 2- Poor communication between the dentist and the office manager; the manager required over 2000.00 of prepayment to schedule needed dental work, without providing me a treatment plan to understand the charge. I was assured that a treatment plan would be discussed by the dentist at the first appointment for work to begin. Three months later, the dentist's first appointment (after my infected tooth had fallen out!), he had no idea of the treatment plan the office manager had mentioned when $2000 was paid. 3- Poor Resolution of overpayments timely: Although an 8.00 amount due over one month resulted in a dunning notice to me, this office held $1700 of prepayment for services they did not provide for 4 months, nor even explain what the payment was actually going to cover. Ultimately, I had to file a dispute with my cc company for the refund to finally process. 4- VERY poor front office customer service. When attempting to schedule appointments, the response time would average 2-3 days, when attempting to close my account so I could use funds to go to another dentist, I respectfully emailed, called, and texted for 4 months, and never received even a courtesy response from the front office manager. If you have a LOW-MAINTENANCE dental need, this is likely an ok choice as the dentist does a good job when he does actually have an appointment with a patient. If you have areas of concern (cavities, periodontal issues, like to understand what you are paying for, don't have lots of money to effectively loan, interest free, to your dentist indefinitely) or value a friendly and responsive front office, then there a several much better choices in the Layton area. read more

Dr. Argyle has been our dentist for 12 years and we have known him to be very professional. His dental knowledge and experience show through his good work and character. His staff is wonderful to work with and are always very good to communicate appointments, follow ups, and all applicable dental needs. We highly recommend Dr. Argyle. read more

This place was recommended by a friend. My husband had some dental issues. He went in and they told him they needed to pull a tooth. After all said and done my husband had his back tooth pulled. They advised my husband he would need two implants. 8,000 dollars. We have double coverage. It would have cost us. The staff was nice. Clean place and updated equipment. Now the part that is upsetting. My husband was told that he would feel ten times better after he pulled it. Well that was not the case. The medication wore off and he was in a good amount of pain. He took ibu with no relief. So I called down and the front office said I would have to ask the doctor. Called back a few hours. Few hours people later and said the doctor will not give his patient any medication for his pain. Now my husband doesn't complain at all when he is hurt. He is not a pill popper. He just wanted something to help him for the night. I feel really bad for him. This place is not about making people feel and look better about there teeth. I'm not sure if pulling his tooth was a set up to spend 8,000 dollars. read more
